  1. Would rather have the alternate powers myself. But I would not want to be the poor ******* in charge of balance or coding on that one.

Elec armor, you want a self rez? Perfect, you got it.... you just have to skip your God mode in exchange for a Jesus mode.

Claws, sick of shockwave tossing your mobs all over? Great take a power where you scratch your claws together making a terrible screaching sound that does less damage but has your opponents holding thier ears until disturbed (brief sleep for about the same amount of time it takes mobs to get up from KB, maybe no sleep for pvp for balance issues). Just tossin ideas out there.

I would suggest small changes rather than revamping a whole set. Mainly powers that people tend to love to hate, but a few are in love with them. Handclap or gale for example could get alternate options but nothing that would break the game like an option instead of handclap for another footstomp type power.

Just because the rage crash is lame does not mean that SS does less damage. I farm a hell of a lot faster on my ss/fire compared to others I have seen with elec/fire.

Under equal buff amounts scrappers will always out damage brutes. Only once you pass the scrapper cap will you have brutes start to catch up.

Pretty much yes. Rage + FS with a full fury bar (70% ish) does a little less damage than fire sword circle but has a larger radius and added mitigation in KD. This comes in very handy when farming and past the agro cap in mobs. Lets say you toss down a burn patch then follow up with your next AoE attack. If it has an 8' or 10' radius, you may only hit a few targets if burn leaves anything for you. But if your next attack has a 15' radius you are going to hit more targets meaning more overall damage compared to another attack that has a higher base damage.

The other reason SS is viewed as better for AoE overall is Rage. Rage still adds damage to damage aruas and patron/epic AoE powers as well which many people forget to factor in when they compare sets.
  5. Exactly right. In pvp you face alot more of exotic damage vs pve. Pre I13 Psi was very popular becasue there were few ways to resist psi damage. So in the devs attempts to be "fair" they gave resists to everyone. They either added psi resists to melee sets that did not have them or put in extra resists in the epic shields. IMHO this was not even a good thing to do for pvp and would be even worse for pve.

Doing the same thing to tough PvE would be vastly overpowering. Imagine a WP toon for example with tough. On top of decent defenses and regen they could, and in most cases would, have decent resists to everything on top of that. Or a /fire brute with at least 50% resists to cold, negative, energy, S/L and 17% ish resist to psi. If the devs did actually put the resists to everything, they would probably drop down to around 3% making the power usless other than a mule and something to take before you get weave.
  6. What I would not mind seeing is the ability to slot resist sets to increase the amount of resistance added as you take more damage. This would also free up a couple powers for those that take tough just for the steadfast unique.

    Tanks do too much damage.

  8. Would love to see the spending clock go away. Even if I were to spend a ton of merits to flood the market, all that would do is lower the prices. How is that bad for everyone? I am currently slowly saving up for Gladiator armor +3 def. If I get close to that and one happens to drop or actually show up on the market, there I am with a bunch of merits that will take me weeks to spend. More freedom is always better.
  9. Just commenting on ones I have an opinion on.

    1. Offline SG invites. I know this has been discussed to death, but it's still at the top of the list.

Totally with you on this one.

    3. An in-game build editor similar to Mid's. Create your builds, modify, tweak, etc...then load up the respec screen and simply hit "apply build"

    Please yes.

    4. More slots! WE don't even get HALF of the total amount of possible slots we could potentially use. If it were changed to simply getting 3 slots at ALL slot levels, that would be a very welcome increase, and not game breaking either. (I believe this would only result in 15 extra slots) Or maybe give us a way to EARN more slots? That would help the game in more ways than one. (It would get people out of AE, which would also result in more drops/more items on the market)

Yes it would be game breaking. No on this one.

    5. For the love of god, can you PLEASE rework all the level 1-40 Hero side contacts?

Maybe not all contacts, but at least lower the amount of hunts and forcing people to zone 3 times to talk to one person only to have to run all the way back to the original contact.

    6. Increase Titan-O's to dropping at the characters level range. As it stands right now, limiting them to level 40 has made them worthless. Or make them like IO's, so that they can't be outleveled. And on that note, maybe also make it so you don't have to be between levels 39-41 to start the Eden Trial?

    Eden trial, so agree.

    10. NO MORE EMOTE ONLY BOOSTERS!
I agree but if others buy the hell out of emote boosters then we will see more of them. Best way to prevent this is to not buy what you dont like.

    15. Longbow and Vanguard Epic Archetypes.
Nothing fancy about either of those. They just use existing sets that are out there already.

    18. PLEASE stop packing so much new content into the 20-29 and 40-50 level ranges! Give 30-39 some more lovin, please???

20: Allow multiple auto powers. For example: Hasten, Secondary Mutation, and Practiced Brawler

At best would have to limit this to 1 pool power and 1 other power.

21: Access to Safeguards/Mayhems via Ouro

Yes please. Quite annoying to get the low level badges if you switch sides.

22: (Suggestion may be met with I19, not sure yet) Add a way to acquire all Praetorian Badges through Ouro.

23: Rename SG option. (Even if it's a paid feature)[/QUOTE]
Yes please. Sometimes the leader quits and you no longer want to be associated with that name. Currently there is no way to change it unless it is offensive in nature and get genericed.

Slippery slope there. Not a good comparison unless you also want travel suppression, loss of base regen during combat, heal suppression and scaling resists and lower AOE damage in PVE.

  13. Yup, not broke. WAI. Honestly I would like to see maybe the top 10-15% chopped off the bar. So instead of a full bar = to 100% fury it would be = to 85% fury. That way it would provide the illusion that the bar is near full since more than 85% is pretty much damn near impossible now.
  14. FE I believe counts as pet damage so it will not appear in your combat log unless you put pet damage there. And really not sure why anyone would stop using it after it is improved. It works much better than before with the higher up front damage.
  15. Or some kind of body morphing powerset. You could turn your arms into a big warmace for one attack (smashing) a sword for another (lethal) and maybe stab out with a bunch of spikes for an AOE. Kinda like the T1000 on T2. Hehe even stretch your arm out and punch someone in the face up to 40 feet away.

A lot of people make extremely foolish decisions with their money, expecting people to be smart about spending make-believe money is just silly.

Oh, I continued the threadjack... oops. I think the question was pretty much answered anyway.
I support your thread jack and will take it from there. There is a place for homeless and poor people to get a dinner down the street from my house. We walk our dogs by there around feeding time. You should see all the "poor" people that cannot afford to eat, drive up in nice cars, talking on thier cellphones while smoking. They probably wonder why they never have money too.

On topic, if you want to kill stuff for money while playing melee rather than play the market, reroll a SS/Fire brute and make an AE farm with just fire damage.
  17. Good, so Im not going crazy. Well at least this is not the reason. I will keep trying to nail down what is causing it.
  18. The short version of what was just said.

No amount of KB can keep an AV off thier feet for more than one or 2 times at a time.
  19. While farming, I tend to use the Nemisis farm in Nerva aka the platform farm on villian side. Ill pull a bunch of mobs and then burn them all down. When I do this I have my insp tray set up how I like it and always leave 4 spots open. So when an insp drops, I use it right away or delete it if it is a wakie.

Recently I have noticed that if a luck is flashing like it is about to run out, and you use another luck, both will drop at the end of the duration of the first luck. This does not happen all the time and I have yet to duplicate it consistantly, it seems to be random times. Has anyone else noticed this?
  20. Ok what am I not looking at?
  21. Have to aggree with Claws. Adding the ability to send things by email was not meant to be a way to bypass the markets. If you want to do so, do it at your own risk. The only way I could support this is if there were a 10% of the COD fee paid by each party.

Well sort of. For most lightning, the negative charge in the clouds builds up and searches for the positive ground (oxymoron?). Once it hits the positive charge, that charge surges back to the cloud. So really cloud to ground to cloud is more correct.

Here is a nice slowed down version of how it works.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XwFF5idD_0

Even running this slow it is difficult to track. If you pause it at about second 4 you can see the burst from the ground.
  23. Used my own farm with constant ambushes and sef rezing mobs that takes a bit longer. Now I don't have constant double rage but it comes up every 70 seconds or so depending on the FF proc. Tests with rage have me popping it off every time it comes up. I started the timer right before I engaged the mobs from the same spot each time to prevent time difference between loading screens.

Without rage and without reds -5:22
Without rage and with reds - 4:47 Huh, go figure, stuff dies faster when you do more damage.

With rage and without reds - 5:01
With rage and with reds - 4:18 clearly the overall damage is better even when having to deal with multiple rage crashes. But what about just 1 rage crash? Did the tests again without double rage and only having 1 aplication up at all times.

With single rage and without reds - 5:05
With single rage and with reds -4:35.

So the best times are when you hit rage as soon as it is up and pop reds when they drop. If anyone is suprised by this, seek help.

And to the OP, if you are getting that much recharge, use the other tools, not jab.

    Taunt?

Totally skipable... until I19 when you get 3 more power picks and can use it on things like taunt and other 1 slot powers.
