  1. Here is another I threw together real quick I have extra slots left over I am sure I can improve on it by fiddling with it I am always looking for new ways to optimize

You will hate that build you have to many attacks with only 22% to acc that is terrible in the gran scheme of things and you have no sets to offset the acc and why kinetic combat you want positional defense not type defense on the set and for what you spend in Kinetic combats you can add lotg's and have better recharge and free up some slots

    I will post my current build and look at redoing yours I have aidself but that is for AV's you can drop hasten in there instead

    Yes some of that is outdated a lot of changes from the game since the time he played those toons the guide was pre IO's

    In fact I started one back in I2 before Dark Armor could even stack, then we had where the tohit buff was like 35% in COF and it was a mag 3 hold and the acc was like 95%

    Then DM went through the Buzz saw era which was nerfed with the animation change (that was an accident) but it led to a siphon life buff

    What you failed to grasp is that COX pvp is not the same as most games pvp.

    The population is ultra small and mainly the hardcore so if you are not IO out to the gills and with the right sets all you are going to do is die 99% of the time and contribute nothing to your side. While you be good fish bait for the other side.

    This is not DAOC in the hay day where you could contribute no matter the class or build yes some where better but overall the pvp was better and had a large % of the population played the pvp game so you could contribute.

    Basically you are getting upset because people are trying to help you from wasting tons of money on an IO build for PVP that will still suck big time and just frustrate you to no end and still make your toon suck in pvp.

    The last thing you need to realize when you ask for pvp builds you need to specify what pvp game you plan to play in COX are you trying to do arena league the build is different from RV zone and SC zone pvp. All three require different builds for top end performance.

    Most use the 2 different builds to switch between which PVP they plan to play

    If you want to get all indigent about it go right ahead but people gave you the advice for a reason
  10. Fire/reg is one of the better sets for scrappers in PVP

    Then on top of that are you doing zone pvp or arena?

    Yes the builds are that much different between zone and arena

    Then which zones because the different zones require different builds

    SD - Grant Cover

    Why I can give you a ton

    First it does not help that much it is only 13%. On my current build I take it at 49 and defualt slot it as a set mule for lotg recharge and I turn it on for cinmeora not that I notice any real gains by running it. The 20% slow recharge is nice but not earth shattering

    The radius on it is too small and only benefits people really close 15' yea why bother and why do I need grant cover when having people next to me i get a buff from phalanx fighting plus +3.75% defense; If they are a shield player they get a buff also from phalanx fighting if they took it.

    Lets add in the radius so small the only time it is even effective is during AV or GM fights because most teams move at fast speeds so how often do they really benefit from my buff.

    It does not get you close to the soft cap weave, CJ or Maneuvers or aidself I will take all these before I take grant cover

    The power is just not worth taking any where in the build until late levels and i seen a lot of builds that flat out skip it in favor of hasten

    Overall the power sucks they added the debuff resistance and the slow resistance in beta trying to give people a reason to take it and guess what everyone still skipped it or takes it late build for lotg global recharge mule. Until it gives more meaningful debuff resistance people will continue to not waste a power slot on the power or if it gives them a defense buff and for it to be usefull on a team it really needs a radius buff

    I know from experience that a DM/FA brute IS NOT capable of doing it as they have NO survivability what so ever. Yes I have two heals but it just is not enough. I think the compete and total lack of defense in Fiery Armor is a major factor.

    I know a Dominator would suck as they just don't have the DPS...unless that has changed recently, but i doubt it. I have used my wife's Fire/DM corruptor but still not enough...but when paired with my fire/fire dom, we ****! Wish I could get one of my daughters to play a Demon/Thermal MM so we could be the Family Grim with Screamon Deamon and Screamon Deamonette and Little Deamonette!

    Anyway, back to the topic. The best AT/spec that is able to street sweep mobs and live to tell about it. When this game was brand spanking new I did it with a BS/Regen Scrapper....but those days are gone.

    Then you also have thunder strike, Chain Lighting (sorta of an aoe) Jacob ladders a cone

    Plus scrapper dammage

    I know fire/mind blaster is pretty aoe centric

    Actually before IO's healers where not needed in fact toons where more powerful than they are now, you realize regen at one time ran at something like 2000% recharge IH was a toggle and not a timed click if they died there was nothing a healer could do for them. Tanks running perma unstoppable once again usually if they died a heal would not have saved them because their was no agro cap and they had like 200 mobs around them. So since this game started healers have not been needed
  16. Deleted a lot in the 20's after that I just retire them some I like but I have a few and I am about to have another not enough time to play them so I retire them.

    My DM/DA and Spines/da retired they just sit there I have moved toons I may one day go back to katana/reg 26 moved to another server I have a lvl 31 like rad/dark defender sitting on a server. I have a fire/reg at 35 I may finish one day

    The 50's I never delete but I do not have 36 slots filled or anything like that

    AV Killer?

    Fire/SD and DM/SD are your top 2 flavors for AV soloing

    DM/SR is probably the cheapest one and very roboust

    fire/sr does really really well at it

    Katana/reg does well with parry

    After that it gets harder but it is way possible

This is easy to solve I say lets go (I play scrappers) and I get in the mission I usally beat the tanks to the bob and just killing things in my wake basically I just push the pace and the speed until they cry uncle. They forget about the healer real quick. I also love to make comments when i am looking at the groups like man I love storm because I do I love freezing rain that power just flat out rocks. I give the other secondary props I never say anything about empathy.

    It is more to change the mindsets of the pugs that i do play on people like we need I go we do not need a thing.

    Heck I have ran all scrapper itf and stf healer not needed

    They both are not worth a dime in PVP the best scrapper set in PVP is regen after that I have no clue the best place would be the PVP forums but generally overall unless things have changed it is LOL Melee still

    If you want you can slot 4 of one set IO and then 2 slots with Temper readiness acc/dmg/slow and the dmg/slow and you even get a 1.5% bonus to endurance

    Then you get the best of both worlds

I guess I'm more of a masochist than I ever wanted to believe I was.
    Sounds like a slotting issue with me I have soloed an AV with no temps and no insp on my fire/sd and never even came close to touching my Conserve power each AV is different but I have soloed a couple where that was the case.

    The main thing is do you have enough +end and end reduction in your build I mean I ran 8 toggles on a spines/da when there where ony SO's and HO's and I managed just fine because I slotted enough endurance reduction in my attacks.

  23. I have never see the build before I was working on a katana/wp build just to see what I could do with my current one he is at 25 I plan on working on him and I was working more survival build my is not far off from yours a little different

    But that is the fun of this game

    What you stated is the issue with scrapers early level your best mitigation is killing stuff early. You are approaching the fight incorrectly you should be relying on your inspiration and you are relying on the wrong ones green ones. In your early levels if you do turn on your armor you also need to eat those purple ones they add defense, orange ones are resistance eat that before you start a fight. In the early levels the best inspiration for a scrapper are red for more damage. Troller and Blaster play better at the lower levels what you have not done is hit SO with a scrapper everything changes at level 22.

    Resistance sets are not much better half the time I run the 1st 10 levels and may never turn on an any of my powers other than a damage aura I do not slot any powers until at least DO and then just me damage and acc in my main attacks.

    This is the catch 22 of scrappers they can not give us a lot of defense or resistance early because of the other end when you start to enhance them in late game it becomes over powered. I guess they could give all players more HP early and reduce the amount of HP you get from leveling and still end up with the same current total as we do now at level 50.
