  1. Fear Itself 7.1. Not a big fan of Fear Itself but if you like Cap and Bucky you will not want to miss this issue. That is all I will say to avoid any spoilers. Probably the pick of the week in my opinion.

Amazing Spiderman 673 the epilogue for Spider Island was also a good read. I really liked this story line and can't wait to see what the future holds for Kaine.

I bought Uncanny X-men and X-men and I wish I hadn't. I don't really care much for the direction of the X-men right now.

I almost forgot New Mutants which is probably my favorite X-book right now. Todays issue was kind of ok and not much action, which is alright because I am looking forward to the teams next mission.

Wasn't a DC comics week for me. I should have picked up Action Comics #3 but avoided it due to not really liking the Superman comics in the new 52.
  2. i am really liking the new Superboy comics. This is probably my new favorite series in the new 52. I also have been picking up Nightwing and I am glad to see Dick Grayson in this role and no longer Batman.

Night-Hawk07 - I too am disappouinted that Red Robin no longer gets his own series. This was one one my favorite comics prior to the new 52. I hate being forced to pick up Teen Titans to follow Tim Drake and I also hate the new costume and hope they will eventually go back to the Cape and Cowl. But I think teen titans is an ok story and I am curious to follow once Superboy enters.

I bought Superman 1 and 2 but haven't been able to read past the first page or 2 as I haven't found these to be that interesting. Probably going to drop Superman but may have to pick up action comics instead.

While I have enjoyed all green lantern books since the beginning of the Sinestro Corps War. Post-relaunch New Guardians has been the only GL book I have enjoyed reading.
  3. Hi Sin Stalker. I play Peacemaker on Exalted we meet in game a few weeks ago. looking forward to checking out this site and definately inspired to start toying around with demo editing to create a Peacemakers comic. Looks like this site has some great resources now I just need to find the time.
  4. I have horrible altitis so I won't use this myself as I went the ectoplasm route.

But how about making a water cooler like you would find at the office. I thought about making one as a villain/digruntled employee tired of the office standing around him with all the office banter and gossip.
  5. Leatherback, it's Tortuga. I wanna see what you did with the costume salvage I gave you. Did you keep the original costume or did you come up with something totally new?

That sewer trial was so much fun last night. I definately like the changes the devs made to the sewers. I think that was the most fun I have ever had on a team.
  6. Great stuff as always. Thaony Silas and Elton Dias delivered some amazing artwork. I especially like the action shot of Comrade Hero. Mark Williams has done 3 outstanding pieces for you and I love the textures in his work.

I haven't checked Deviant Art in a while how is your Comrade Hero Project coming along?

    Exalted Intros

I'm Shane. I've played COH for just over 6 years mostly on the Pinnacle server and a little on Virtue and Freedom. My main character is Peacemaker and I was fortunate enough to get the name on Exalted so I may end up making this my new home. I am usually on late nights or early afternoons hero side, but I have come to like the changes on villain side and can be seen roaming the Rogue Isles as C A P E. I also tend to spend alot of time in the mission architect system creating a custom mission that I have yet to publish.

JGHopkins - I too went to x-ray school and have been a tech for 3 years. Good luck with school and I hope you enjoy your career as much as I have.
  8. The names that I got were Peacemaker, Sands, and Heavy Artillery
  9. My opinion is that Foreshadow has the best costume in game. I love the visor and the one long sleeve glove and one short. Also the use of the one small shoulder pad make this character unique. I was so glad he was added to the Hollows.

Statesman is another character that I like. I like the patriotic theme of his costume, in combination with the faceplate makes this character very iconic. I prefer Statesman without a cape, but when he is out of action I guess it is ok.

Blue Steel is another character I think is unique. His costume screams police officer and seems a little on the ordinary side, but the large police badge shield is what makes this character awesome.

And finally any kheldian character needs the sash. The sash has always been an essential costume piece to any peacebringer or warshade. I have always thought the sash is to kheldian as the cape is to a hero, as in a kheldian has to earn the right to wear a sash. But to answer the question what costumes best fit a characters story, I would say the sash and kheldians.
  10. Another great commission by the talented Brandon McKinney. This is my character Wildcard an technology energy/energy blaster. The concept of the character is that he is an unofficial member of the Peacemakers supergroup and leader of their Black Ops squad. The energy manipulated by his battle suit allows him to target and hold his own against the toughest supervillains. Brandon did an excellent job delivering everything I requested. I was feeling a little nostalgic and picked up some City of Heroes comics at my local comic shop when I got the message on Deviant art that Brandon would be open for commissions. I couldn't resist! Brandon's work is top quality and anyone looking for a great commission should hit him up.

  11. Here is my female speedster Fox Race.

  12. I remember playing an earth/storm controller and when I would be running down the street and came across some other hero fighting a group and one of the villains trying to run away I thought I was helping by holding him in place with stone prison holding everything in that area and then getting nasty messages about kill stealing and a broadcast message going out that no one should team with my character.

I was probably the biggest kill thief in the game and had no clue.
  13. You could always check the multimedia forums for using the Demo editing to create a comic from screenshots in game. I have seen alot of cool comics from players of this game.
Create a comic using the screenshots and demo edit and use your money to commission an artist later for a cover or select scenes. Good luck!
  14. Thanks for the comments everyone!.

The first image of my character Cape was just finished recently by imagesbyalex. Alex did great work delivering exactly what I wanted with the awesome background and grat detail in the character. I think he just posted this commission over on Deviant art so drop him a line and let him know what you think.

Having a piece of art from Brandon McKinney (my first commission) was epic when you have someone who worked on the original City of Heroes comics draw your character.

xJoeDx did a fantastic job on the Sands piece. I sent character screenshots and told him what I wanted and he exceeded my expectations. I love the character but the Arachnos soldiers being buried in the sand and the look on the one's face are my favorite part of this piece.

Randy Kintz who did the two pieces of my character Wildcard (one of my favorite characters to play). Randy has a great style to his art. He makes it look easy by keeping his art simple and clean, but the results are amazing.

If anyone has recommendations of someone to color the Peacemaker by McKinney piece, let me know. I will probably have to wait until after the new year but I think you guys convinced me to have it colored.

Thanks for the post SenseiBlur. Shield guy is the Peacemaker. He is the field leader for the supergroup that shares his namesake. I consider him to be my main character and probably my favorite to play. His costume is blue and white, marking the first and one of the only characters I have that doesn't wear black. While I would love to have that piece of art colored, it almost seems like a crime to cover up Brandon McKinneys awesome linework and pencils.
  16. I have a new commission I wanted to show off and thought I would just create a thread to showcase my collection. I have a supergroup on the Pinnacle server I call the Peacemakers and I have commissioned some great art by very talented artists of my characters.

My latest commission is from Alex Dai/imagesbyalex. It is of my character known as Cape. Cape started out as a villain and main antagonist of a mission architect story where the character having no superpowers and a hatred of heroes hunts and traps heroes for sport and collects their capes which he displays in his safe house known as the trophy room. Cape is the founder of the Collectors, an army of humans using tech based weaponry to defeat heroes. Cape is ultimately captured and reformed into a member of the Peacemakers Black Ops group and used for his knowledge of defeating heroes to take down the toughest villains. The left in the gold and black is the characters villain uniform and the right in the blue and black is his Peacemaker/hero battle suit.

Some old commissions I have previously posted here in the forums. Click on the art to go to the artist's deviant art sites and feel free to explore some of their other work.

  17. Lady Arete - Thanks for the post. I have the backstory for Cape already drawn up. But he is the main antagonist in my mission architect story with an army known as the Collectors. The Collectors are all humans who us advanced tech weapons and body armor to take down superheroes. Cape for example uses a vanguard katana and his suit has a cloaking device that makes him virtually invisible. I have another character that might fit your description though. I have a female character in my mission architect story named Vixen (martial arts and demon summoning whip only), who could be a former superpower who lost her powers and hates heroes out of jealousy. She is psychotic so the loss of her powers could have pushed her over the edge. Great stuff and thanks for the post!
  18. Thanks for the posts everyone. Some great ideas you guys have here. I think I have a direction for my backstory. I won't post it yet. Once the recent art I commissioned is finished I will post the story with the art. Thanks for helping/inspiring me to get past the wall I hit writing my character's story.
  19. I have a character named C A P E. The concept for this character is that he is a normal human that uses tech based weaponry to take down superpowered beings in an attempt to protect humanity. The character is skilled at taking down superheroes and he collects their capes as trophies of his success. He is ultimately defeated and captured by a rival supergroup. While imprisoned he is sonsulted by members of this rival supergroup to help them determine how to take down super villains. When this rival supergroup is defeated and captured remaining members break him out and he assists them in defeating the villain.

What I need help with is a motive for this character to hate any and all superpowered beings and a desire to protect regular humans. I also need a reason for him to have a change of heart and show remourse for his past crimes and want to help his rival group by doing what he does best.

I love this idea but I just hit a wall trying to figure out his motivations. Any suggestions or ideas will be gratly appreciated. I have a couple of commissions in progress that I will post when finished. Just wanted to get the history and story of the character down first.Thank you!
  20. Sorry I posted this thread twice

  21. Here is my main villain from my mission architect story (a work in progress). He hates people with special abilities and superpowers because of a tragic accident that caused the death of his wife and daughter. His hatred of superheroes motivates him to hunt superheroes and collect their capes as souvenirs earning him the code name Cape. His time in prison has shown him the error of his ways and he joins his rivals the Peacemakers for a shot at redemption.

Anyway, enough back story. here is another ipod touch sketch that I did touch up with photoshop of my character Cape. The gold and black is Cape's villain uniform and the blue and black is his Peacemaker uniform.
  22. Here are 2 commissions I had done by Randy Kintz on deviant art. The drawings are of my new energy/energy blaster Wildcard. Click on the picture to go to Randy's deviant art page and check out some of his other work. He's got a really great style and he's really quick too.

Here are screenshots from in game of Wildcard.

  23. Looking forward to see what people come up with. I love the Peackeepers and the art your members recieve is outstanding. I just wanted to say that the supergroup name the peacekeepers is what inspired the name of my character and supergroup the Peacemaker/s. I love the promotional piecesfor this contest. Who came up with those?
  24. I like the Cyborg Fox character. Great tribute to the ninja from Metal Gear.

    CoH Jam October!

The bar has been set high with the stick figures. But I thought I would take a shot at this jam with an ipod sketch of my witch character I created for an architect mission that got scrapped.
