  1. Funny thing, you can STILL farm AE. It's not as uber fast as it used to be granted. The Devs created this wonderful tool and players tweaked it beyond what the Devs expected. Unintended as it may be, it's not the first time either, won't be the last.

IIRC when IOs were introduced it was stated "No powers will be changed based on IOs". When we made PGT mini nukes, all of a sudden the powers broken. 6 issues of PGT being broken? How'd that slip past them?

AEuBer was tested and killed, it was brought inline w/ the risk vs reward scale. IMO mob difficulty to get full rewards is a bit high. But, the devs were trying to discourage xp farms. Mind you as I said earlier in my post, you can still farm AE. It's not as fast, but for redsiders we really only have one workable farm mission outside AE.

    Well.....

Its ok I can bug the last mission of the ITF using superspeed, confuse EBs/AVs/GMs/Hamidon (Solo), etc, etc.

Who cares who did what first.
  3. I'm on Oahu here, nice to see more people from Hawaii playing CoX. I play in the early evenings mostly and always down for a TF, I'm mainly redside and prefer high level speed TFs. If you're ever on Infinity, hit me up.
  4. I went with Mace, for PFF mainly. It's mainly a pve dom so PFF helps a ton in high lvl TFs. I haven't missed the extra damage from soul drain, never needed help with the endurance bar.

Just to give an example. ITF 2nd mission as per speed run.
    1) Run to cyst w/ PFF on
    2) Either mass confuse or mass hold the nictus around the cyst w/e is recharged
    3) Destroy Cyst.
    4) Repeat step 1

Granted the above is easier with a brute or tank taking agg. But I can lockdown the spawns keeping them alive.
  5. Willpower WAS decent before the changes, granted Rttc only works with stuff in melee range. Now any little mez shuts the power off, making it even more useless. Def based is screwed w/ the current PvP, DR makes being capped just a waste of money. Resist base does ok except when you pop your "godmode" you might as well point and laugh at yourself. Again DR made PvP useless, the mez changes made pvp unfair for the most part.

Devs asked the PvP community what we thought during beta testing of PvP 2.0. It was met with harsh words and a whole lot of distaste. We were ignored for the most part and changes went through. The devs are happy with PvP 2.0 and doubt a huge change will ever occur again. What's the response of this from the PvP community on this? Not sure, since I haven't seen roughly 85% of the people I used to PvP with.

Am I bitter? Yes I am. Fact is, there are more things wrong with pvp 2.0 then right. I won't bore you with my list as this is getting waaaaaay off topic.
  6. I've also got Tremor/Fault/Vet Attacks as well, so my chain is longer. Total Global recharge is over 100% while haste is running. I've also got two +rech procs slotted so recharge will get 100% boost every time it fires.

I'll see how it plays out in gameplay with just the one Acc. If I'm not happy with the chain I can replace it with a Zinger Acc/Rech
  7. Ok took some ideas from your build, let me know what you think. I believe I came out with some decent def/resist numbers. With the +rech proc in both fault and tremor, I'll be at a bonus 100% often. I'm aware it doesn't stack and it comes with a 5 sec cooldown. I've got it slotted in all my superstrength characters with nice results.

  8. Thanks for the builds, gonna study it and see if I can improve on mine. You gave me a couple of ideas. I'll post my build later so you can judge it.
  9. Gypsy_of_Paradox

    Grav/elec perma?

Not perma unless you Haste running and haste is no where near perm. Let me play with mids and see what I can come up with. See if you like it and such, just need to know your personal preferences. What powers you "must" have and powers you hate.
  10. I'm looking for some build advice for my level 50 Stone Melee/Energy Aura Brute. I've played with mids and either get stuck with not being softcapped. Or come out with a build thats softcapped while everything else suffers. I've put together 7 other level 50 brutes and had no problems. This ones my only energy aura one and its got me boggled. So I ask you my brothers in SMASH for assistance on builds.

Things I prefer to have in my build:
Haste, Superspeed, Tough (For some resistance), Weave (Only if needed to be softcapped)

So hit me with your best, I got 3.5bil to play with. Not excluding cheap builds mind you as I can always put the cash to another level 50.

    Thank you in advance.
  11. Well it seems the difference maker is the fact mine is EM/SR and softcapped. I have two willpower brutes and can see the lack of mitigation if paired with EM. Also it doesn't bother me when someone kills my targets. Used to annoy me a lot when I played my fire/rad a few years back. Used to it now.

Seems it more that the set changed and it lost synergy with most armor sets. Which isn't really good.
  12. Why do people state energy melee is the weakest, yea its not near as powerful as it used to be. But it still packs one hell of a punch
  13. List of primaries for Brutes I have at 50

EM, 2xDM, ElecM, FM, 2xSS, SM.

I gotta say I like them all, they have their percs and weaknesses.

Energy Melee, is slow yes. I honestly only had an EM after the changes so I can't compare. Overall the damage dealt seems balanced with animation times. However I hear complaints are that you get slammed mid animations. Again I wouldn't know, mine is a softcapped EM/SR so the synergy works great. Being softcapped allows the animation times of my attacks not to hurt as much. Quickness helps a bit with the recharge times of my attacks. Possibly worse with other sets, it works for me.

Dark Melee, mainly just lacks AoE, but otherwise is a ridiculously powerful set. I have a DM/Stone and DM/Fire, both do great overall.

Electric Melee, massive AoE, but many threads mention its total lack of ST damage. IMO this is the counterpart to Energy Melee. Extreme ST vs Extreme AoE. Takes some fury to get it on part with the damage of other sets. My Elec/WP was my first brute at 50 and it got me addicted to the SMASH!!

Fire Melee, lots of DoT, a heavy dot damage set, provides high damage and no mitigation. I paired it with Shields and softcapped it for mitigation. Lots of damage, but was built as a concept toon so no where near its true potential. The multiple animations of attacks with swords and w/o was a bit annoying though.

Super Strength, this set on a brute is powerful to say the least. However rage crashes are annoying and feel longer then 10 seconds. I have a SS/Fire and SS/WP both geared as farmers. Rage/Haste crash flatlines their endurance bars quick, but well worth the tradeoff.

Stone Melee, Much like fire melee, the multiple animations got on my nerves. I paired it with Energy Aura for the drain and conserve. Softcapped to all types except Neg/Psi. He does alright, I don't play him much TBH. Way too many toons to get to 50.

My experience with brute primaries in a nutshell. I don't feel any set really comes out on top, it all smashes. Which is all that matters to a Brute.
  14. My opinion based on my years here.

    Population
    Heroes > Villains

    Wealthiest Faction
    Heroes > Villains

    Wealthiest Individuals
    Villains > Heroes

All merging the markets would do is cut prices for villains by more then half overall. It would also give heroes more money so they'd spend more. In turn it would balance out.
  15. New animations look great, now what about my bow cutting my head off when I jump?
  16. While they have similar sets, I personally do not place ATs in the same group with any other. They all play differently regardless even if corruptors sets look like reverse defenders. My Rad/Ice defender feels nothing like my AR/Rad corruptor. Corr damage at base mod do more damage than defenders and less damage than blasters. But you plan to go with kinetics so when you grab fs, you'll end up doing more damage than blasters.

    Hope this helps

Oh and just an fyi, doms don't have blaster secondaries. They have Assault sets which are a mix of ranged and melee attacks. These assault sets are unique to dominators.
  17. Market: Just merge it, it will balance out in time. Just like the AE affects on the market. There will be pulls on both ends, but it will balance out.

SGs: Setup SGs so both sides can join either side, let each group decide on their own. If you want your sg to allow both this works. If you want your SG to only allow heroes, just don't invite villains. Quite simple and I believe and would make everyone happy. IIRC that is what Positron said their goal was right?
  18. Indeed, but at least its not a flat out no eh?

    Infinity Badges

    the llamas ARE the badge
  20. Well I've received two replies so far stating they are escalating the ticket. So at least that's not two no's. Just a waiting game now.
  21. Just found out about this badge :/

Changed credit cards midway as my main one expired. Bank sent my new card to my old address. So I called them and they said 1-2 weeks, being an addict I went and bought a Walmart debit card to pay. My new card finally came in and I updated my information. Didn't get the badge, but just filed a petition. Sent my transaction history along with my email, hope that helps.

    >,> moar llamas nao?
  23. Carnifax is right, AC is extremely useful and rounds out pain nicely. It adds to more debuffs and makes my Rad/Pain corr quite beast being able to heal/damage/debuff/buff.

    My Slotting:
    Analyze Weakness: Acc/Rech
    Analyze Weakness: Acc/Def Debuff
Achilles Heel: Chance for Res Debuff
Touch of Lady Grey: Def Debuff/Rech
Touch of Lady Grey: Def Debuff/Recharge/End
    Touch of Lady Grey: Rech/End
  24. Since the PGT nerf, best slotting I've found is a 4 slotted 3x Recharge IO and 1 Lockdown Chance for Hold.
