Please understand, if bug reports ever showed results for text errors, this thread wouldn't exist. The instant someone said "you guys have text errors" they'd be laughed off stage and followed with a "just file a bug report or clam up about it, noob."

As it is, this seems to be the only way for us to be heard, jointly proclaiming "we would not amused"

As suggested by someone else earlier in the thread, I will gladly lead an initiative to compile a detailed list of text errors so they can all be corrected in one big update. That is, if you guys can be bothered to make use of it.
  2. I happen to have a Grav/Earth myself, so let me log on and see how it behaves...

    * Lift has a 2s delay on its damage and Stone Spears has a 2.1s activation time. If you use one right after the other, the "IMPACT!" will appear a mere tenth of a second prior to Stone Spears's damage.

    * Singularity does not grant the benefits of Impact with its Gravity Distortion power.
  3. Working as intended, last I heard. The real trick is changing Synapse's intent. (-:
  4. It's also worth noting that Impact does not occur when using Gravity Distortion Field. It's a healthy dose of WTF.

That's not the reason that came out of his mouth during the arcs. Which ones were you playing?

When I ask about it, people tell me "I don't play redside." When I pursue the topic, they say "I don't like redside." When I ask them about that, they give me some cookie-cutter responses every time:
    • The zones are dull. Yes, exactly like Mercy Island. All of them. There's no fancy district controlled by organized crime in Port Oakes, next to the haunted French fortress, nope. Nerva Archipelago certainly isn't riddled with Hero iconography and arcane overtones lurking right across the waters, no-siree. And St. Martial has no color at all, especially at night!
    • The content isn't as good. Wucking fhut!? For every Harvey Maylor that sends you to fight--I wish I was kidding--165 Carnies on the streets, you have an exasperated Doc Buzzsaw who questions what science has wrought. For every Crimson who has you defeat all Malta however many umpteen times, there's a Vernon Von Grun who aspires to cast aside his status of mere lab assistant and become a revered mad scientist. There's no way CoH has better content.
And then, of course, there's this one:
    • I don't like being someone's lackey.
This is a sentiment held only by those who have never ever even once played City of Villains. Actually, probably exactly once: before Freedom launched and they naïvely picked Kalinda as their starting contact. Yeah, you're Kalinda's lacky. And you're the patrons' lackeys. And... um... As far as I've been able to determine, that's it. I challenge anyone to find a contact not Kalinda or one of the patrons whom you outright work *for* rather than *with*.

Mr. Bocor doesn't boss you around. He's quite direct about requesting your services and offers to pay you handsomely for your assistance. Lt. Chalmers doesn't boss you around. The Sky Raiders need some work done and they don't care if you're evil; they accept you as a valuable partner. Even Marshal Brass--possibly the most curt and uncompromising character in the game--doesn't boss you around. He needs some jobs taken care of discreetly and he'll work with villains outside of Arachnos if they can keep it under the rug.

Also, you save/kill your clone in Leonard's arc, not D-Mac's. (-:
  7. It's been brought to my attention that this last one was brought up in the USTREAM. Does this mean we can expect public apologies every time a text error is published? (-:
  8. Are you guys for real? "INSERT BIO HERE"? Yes, maybe you should get right on that, hm?

  9. Perhaps each box actually contains the other one?

  12. ... because no one's made a nonsensical spin on that joke in this thread yet...
  13. Maybe one box has a dead cat and the other has a live caesium atom?
  14. The healing uniques also only affect the caster... |-:
  15. When it comes to melee control, it's hard to beat a Dark/Ice/Soul Tanker. The damage isn't the best, but the control certainly is.

Whatever doesn't slip and fall on the Ice Patch will be stunned. Whatever isn't stunned is afraid. Whatever isn't afraid has a reduced hit chance. Whatever manages to hit you despite all that won't do as much damage because of the debuff. Also has a ST hold for flavor.
  16. For ranged DPS, you might be looking at Longbow. The Cataphract has -Regen built in that can strike down tough targets pretty soundly.
  17. For the record, the full title of the Enhancement is "Entropic Chaos: Chance to Heal Self"

It will heal the caster. Since it's a Ranged Damage set, it would be quite sadistic if it healed the target.

Additionally, it will only heal the caster if the caster is a player character. Pets that inherit the proc through propagation will not be able to heal themselves.
  18. Mewing? I'd rather give it the sound you make by pressing Gak into the little contours of the container it comes in.

  20. Within the Darkness of Mot, there are these two inconspicuous treasure chests just floating about. When you get close to them in just the wrong way, you're teleported towards the middle of the room.

What do you think is in them? My guess is that the one on the left contains the fixes for all the text errors in the game (like the Mother Keres mission where the mission entry pop-up says Knives of Vengeance), and the one on the right locks in the corrections for all the bad power icons in the game (like Shadow Slip, whose color palette is flagrantly mismatched from the rest of Umbral Aura).

As you know, there is no hope of either of those things being liberated from the Darkness of Mot.

It wasn't advice, actually. I was joking about the incorrect use of the word "compliment," just like the title states.

Soloing on my new Stalker, I found that the 15-second base recharge of Assassin Strike is maddening. The two or three enemies in addition to the one I kill with my initial Assassin Strike die before it's recharged, and the orange circle disappears before it comes back.

I'm not really at a spot where I can take on larger spawns (only level 18), so the benefits of Assassin's Focus are few and far between. Once I get some Single-Origin recharges in that attack, though, it'll be a different story.
  23. Captain Nolan is just as unfulfilling. You hear about some dude who jumps off a roof, investigate his apartment and... Hey look, it's Heather Townshend!
  24. More specifically, Mass Hypnosis can't accept Damage Enhancements. That's what the Interface slot looks for.
  25. "Gate Crasher" as a badge title is shared between two badges: one for the Peregrine Mayhem Mission Exploration and one for the spine-sync achievement in the DD trial.
