Sounds like just poor base layout.
My bases have the Teleporter rooms located close to the base entrance. It makes it so much easier to run to quickly when I use the base to get between zones. -
I was like you also for a long time. I play Brutes a lot and really enjoy being in the middle of a huge mob. So, I always had a hard time making Stalker. Not to long ago I finally made one that I liked playing, an Elec/EA Stalker. He has a lot of AoE to through around and is pretty survivable. You could probably go with any defense based secondary, but the Elec Melee is what mad ethe difference for me. I do run him different than a Brute though. Instead of facing big mobs I face higher level ones instead. On a Brute I run at +1/x8 most of the time, but I have been running the Stalker at +3/x2 instead. Once I get him up to 50 I am sure he will be able to go at x8 though since he has so much AoE and I plan to softcap his defenses .

Quote:I can find the CoH Deluxe edition on ebay, but all the auctions on there are in the UK. Is the deluxe edition the EU version of the game or would these work for the US version. It lists the Prestige Power Slide as included in it.GvE can obviously still be had through the NCSoft store. And the CoV collector's edition has always been fairly easy to find, whether thru Amazon, eBay, etc. But I always had trouble finding the CoH CE set which has that slide sprint - I've been irregularly looking for a couple of years now.

I was invited to one of these last week and it is obviously an exploit. The poor monster never stands a chance as he normally is perma held and debuffed. I really felt sorry for the poor thing to be abused like that. I even told several people on the team that they should be expecting the nerf to come real soon.
-
I don't know if it is an exploit, but the current farm seems to be the "jelly bean" farm where you gather up a bunch of pet npc's to debuff a giant monster. There is absolutely no risk and the xp is pretty high.

On my brutes I only slot end reducers when I reach level 12 and can slot DO's. You really don't need acc enhancers if you are fighting -1's and the biggest issue with every pre-stamina brute is endurance. Slot them in all your attacks and toggles and your endurance problems go away.

I am 44 so not the oldest. I have run into someone that was in their 50's.
There seems to be quite a few of us older players and that is a good thing I think. -

I just refuse to pay these stupid prices. I go spend the 540 AE tickets and get the piece of salvage I need. It really doesn't take very long to get that many tickets.
If a lot more did that the price wouldn't be so high, but then a bunch of people have so much Inf that they just don't care what the price is. -
Quote:I deal with computer users everyday where I work and you would be amazed at how simple stuff just baffles the average user. How does anybody fall for this prank for more than 2 seconds? My mouse periodically doesn't work when I start up my computer (it's kinda cheap like that), and every time it happens the first thing I do is turn the mouse over to see if the LED is on.
Just the other day a lady came to tell me she couldn't watch a short video because the sound wasn't working. When I went to look I saw that her speakers were not turned on. So, never underestimate the ability of people to completely miss the obvious. -
I will be moving my WM/EA brute to blue side just because there isn't enough STRONG and PRETTY there
I also plan on at least taking my redside badger just to get more badges and I have a stalker that was created with side switching in mind. He will go all the way hero.
(Yes I have a WM/EA and I wasn't kidding!) -

You really don't need a lot of recharge to make War Mace good. I have a WM/EA that I ended up with about 40% global recharge and my attack chain consists of Crowd Control, Shatter, Whirling Mace, and Clobber. I don't have Hasten either. I got that recharge just by going after +def sets to softcap him, so it is possible to get both.
-
I just refuse to pay this for salvage. I keep AE tickets so I can get salvage of any type when I need it. This just seems to be a case of impatience on players parts. I play red side mostly and patience is definitely something you learn there.

I always forget to give you the name...lol

I would like to bring a different Tanker this week. I have a level 36 WP/Stone I would like to run. He may only be 36 but he can handle most anything and won't be a squishy as the fire/ice. If you prefer me to run the IO'ed out 50 I will though.

I have a scrapper from back a couple years ago that has never had a travel power. He uses swift and hurdle to get around. I only added one slot to each and when I toggle on sprint he is very fast. Another benefit is that he is that fast in missions also.
Also, since Ninja Run has been available I have started completely skipping travel powers. I find it plenty fast enough with either hurdle or swift. -
Quote:I missed you last night, it has been a long time since we teamed together. Many apologies for not being able to make it
. There was a schedule change at work, and I have to study for a possible promotion.
We seem to be the only 2 left in the SG and we never are on at the same time. It was crazy fun. -
Last nights was a lot of fun even though it was just the 2 of us. The first mission was paticularly nasty for my Fire Tank since I kept running afoul of Nullifier grenades. On several occasions I had 4-5 of them stacked on me and I died before I could move out of their area. Longbow can be very hard on Fire for this reason. I used to keep Rise of the Phoenix, but I had respecced out of it at some point. The second mission was much easier since Arachnos seem to catch fire very easily
I look forward to doing another one of these and hopefully we will have more Tankers so up. -
Thanks for the advice. This is my first stalker after playing brutes for years and the play style is definitely different. I had no idea the snipes were that bad, so I will pick up dark blast as you suggested.
I'll look at the other slotting more closely. I picked some of those IO's to avoid having to spend a fortune on the market for expensive sets and the few rare sets I have I am farming merits for those. Our defense numbers are close though I have a little higher Psi defense, but thanks for looking. You have given me some good ideas with that build. -
Quote:I guess that would help...We'd be more than happy to have you along. What's your Tanker's name? I'll add him to the team roster.
Kold Phyre and my global is the same as my forum name.
I have teamed with Failsight a lot in the past and we have a lot of characters in the same SG also -
I could join with my 50 Fire/Ice Tank. This sounds like fun and I haven't run my tank in a long time.
-
This is the problem I run into the most. Recipes just aren't available a lot of the time, so I have been running Oro arcs for merits lately and buying the recipes I need. It seems to make getting the ones I want much faster. For salvage I run AE and just buy the salvage. I have a real issue with paying over 100k for salvage.

As far as soloing, EA is probably the better route. It is a wonderful set when solo and still a pretty good one teamed, but SA can be a challenge to solo at high levels due to all the penalties from Granite. Lets face it, the only reason to take SA is for Granite and the uber survivability. Without it SA is pretty mediocre.
I have played both to 50 and really enjoy both sets. Luckily my first brute was stone or I don't know if I could gotten through it. I do solo with my SA brute and he does pretty well, but my EA is much much faster and solo just as survivable.
