  1. Exactly the same thing happened on a Ready to Rumble attempt on Defiant on Thursday night. Defeated the first two AVs, then well over half the trial crashed out simultaneously. I was one of them, so I can't tell exactly you how many people were left behind.

Seems unlikely, since there are no tickets sold, or entry requirements.
  3. Why would I want to leave Defiant when it's so utterly full of awesomeness and win?

And which timezone would that calendar day use?

I believe you. But then, I also don't have any trouble with the idea that having the option of buying something at the store makes achieving it in game feel less satisfying to you. It isn't a view I share, but I don't think it's silly, or illogical, or impossible.
  6. I've really enjoyed Praetoria as a solo game. I found the second half of First Ward less enjoyable than the opening few arcs, but then I had a lot of fun again in Night Ward. Looking back, I think it might've been because First Ward and Night Ward are really one storyline, and that's why the ending of First Ward seemed a little disappointing.

On a Mind/Psi Dom I found Praetoria challenging, but not stupidly difficult.
  7. I wouldn't worry. It's probably due to someone's .sig image being hosted on that site.

If you turn off the images in the control panel, I expect the warnings will go away.

You can buy those for a couple of Astral Merits in Ouro, you know.

Those drop from a completely different recipe pool to IO recipes, and have no effect on their drop rate. You can easily check this in game -- watch the combat log, and you'll sometimes see a temp power and an IO recipe drop from the same defeat.

I don't think the rates had changed when people last analysed the drop rates. If you think you've seen a reduced rate, you can always collect some logs and take a look.

Well, if there are plenty of people out there who want to play slowly through an event without feeling rushed, you shouldn't have any problem filling a team of four people with like-minded players, right?

Travel set Stealth IOs are unique across sets, I think.

ETA: Thinking about it, they might be unique based on the name of the effect? (A rule of one, rather than rule of five.)

Listen, I PAID for this game when I bought a copy on Amazon for £2.50 in 2008. Expecting me to PAY EXTRA for shuttle rides to the moon is just a dirty bait and switch trick!

"Oh, don't worry, we looked into competition law in those countries nine years ago. I'm sure that nothing can have changed since then and all our advice it still current. And if the law did change, I'm sure they'd be okay with it if we tell them we just didn't bother to check this time."

That isn't how the law works, and that isn't how legal departments work.

It isn't that it's a hard task. It's that it's a task requiring the services of legal specialists every single time a contest or giveaway is run -- i.e. an expensive task. I don't see anything wrong with requiring a reasonable cost/benefit ratio in deciding which countries should be included.
  13. My understanding is that most of the contest geographic restrictions are to do with the laws about contests and giveaways in different countries. The usual reasons some places are excluded are:

    1. The competition rules would be illegal there.
    2. There are not enough customers there for it to make financial sense to pay lawyers to vet the contest rules for legality in that jurisdiction.

If it can and it does, I don't imagine it will last long, because it would give Bonfire the most almightly buff, and turn it from 'fun but situational' to 'use as often as possible'.

Rather hilariously, the very next post down in my list is this one.

The setting you want is below that, called 'Graphic Quality'.

First of all, if you can't see the Graphic Quality setting, then find where it says 'Advanced Graphics Settings - Enabled', then click on 'Enabled' to disable them.

You should now see the Graphic Quality option, with a slider next to it. Pull the slider all the way to the left (minimum), apply that, and see how the game runs. (Also, set the FSAA to 'Off'.)

It would really help people to help you if you could post more details about your computer specs.

The Hami raid was originally the only way to get HO drops. So, yes, it was exactly designed to be repeated over and over as the only means of progression past a certain point.
  18. Today I finally ran through the Night Ward arcs on my badger, and I thought they were tough in places, but overall fun and fair. I definitely felt I'd been adequately warned for difficulty before I went into the big set piece fights -- not that I could actually phone a friend, since I was playing though Ouro, but it gave me a chance to stock up on large insps. Plus, the NPC allies were for once not completely useless, and actually provided some useful backup.
  19. I would love to be able to buy the Spirit Stalkers group Spirit Panther as a vanity pet. I've just played through Night Ward for the first time, and I think those things are absolutely gorgeous. None of the vanity pets sold so far have appealed to me at all, but for a panther I would be poised at the Paragon Market the Tueday they were released ready to buy one on both accounts.

Is it the actual power effects you don't like, or the character poses? If it's the latter, you could have a look at the Dark or Bright Sonic Assault custom selections. They largely get rid of the 'long range headbutt' effect.

If you were willing to buy some PPs on a few accounts, you could pick up the Team Transport Power. 30 min recharge would give you pretty much constant up time over eight accounts.

Honestly, I don't think I could tell you what any of the TFs are about, even though I've done all of them multiple times.

Speaking of the Council, every time I run the ITF I'm curious why Nazis are building a giant robot in Ancient Somewhere In The Eastern Med. But never enough to actually make the effort to find out.

I remember an old-style Posi where everyone in the team was level 10 to start. We slogged through the first map boss by purple-conning boss, teamwipe by teamwipe. Slowly, people dinged, and the fights got slightly easier. The whole TF took hours, but no one ever even talked about quitting, and overall it was really good fun, in a slightly hysterical, masochistic way.

That makes me wonder if the EU and US server lists used to have different filters, because I've had that name for a while -- she's listed as joining her SG in October 2008. Maybe us Euro type are trusted with more naughty words :-)

Anyway, it seems to be okayed now, so grab it while you can!

That means that they must have tweaked the naming filters at some point, because I have a waspy Plant/Storm controller called Hymenoptera.
