Quote:In complete agreement with you on this. They're able to set it in all of two seconds... maybe less. I know that an engineer can be signaled I am about by one tick of my damage aura on my Dark Scrapper, and get it out before the next hits (or maybe there is a miss in there)... the time is not long, whatever it is. The requirement to be on the ground is silly as well, but I'd at least take a change to the activation time.I just want to be able to buy my gun drones from the same weapons store that Malta get theirs from. The Malta version is what gun drone for the players should be. It's time for an update.
Its suicidal need (along with every pet now) to get into melee makes it even worse. That's an arguably even bigger issue that the devs have to fix: some pets are made for melee, others are not. Gun Drone, by definition, should not want to get up close. Why this obvious issue with pet AI has been allowed to continue baffles me, especially since people now have more pets! -
If you're waiting to fire off Rain of Arrows when the entire mob is engaged by your teammates, that's the only time its animation should be an issue. If you know RoA is up, disengage from the previous mob sooner and line up on the next one: they'll be getting filled with arrows when your teammates get there, or as they are engaging them.
Pretty much the same for any big AOE, if you need your damage to be what is dropping mobs, you have to fire it off first. Planning can do that. Not liking the animation is one thing from an aesthetic perspective. Not liking it because you couldn't get it to land fast enough is a tactical issue, and easily remedied. I'd also quibble with four seconds being excessively long, but then people say that Ionic takes too long to animate compared to Pyronic, so people obviously have an odd take on animation times (Ionic is two seconds to animate, and chains much more quickly than most Electric chains).
At any rate, Archery is one of the strongest Blast sets... good for lots of AOE or ST damage, and it's even better if you like the idea of Archery in the first place. -
I was going to say... if there were free server transfers that's news to me, and I'm ticked off that I missed it somehow. I was silly and didn't do all the transfers I wanted at the time of Going Rogue, even though I had the time to.

Still, I don't think the news about the sale was strong enough or long enough... I actually learned about it on Gamespy... and I think the only sale announcement we've had on the forums was for character slots, not some of the costume packs. It certainly was not long enough, as I was debating getting the Mac Pack for $5, but when I looked again two days later, the deal was gone... a sale for only a few days isn't enough, I would say. I know regular stores have sales that short, but an MMO is a little different than a standard store or website (and certainly has less frequent sales). -
Quote:If you're a DP/Devices, you can perma stun a boss just by using Taser and Stunning Shot (or whatever the mez is called for DP... you just have to use it with standard ammo). Can't recall the levels on those, but you should be able to get them both by the 20s, and that should work well enough with a little slotting. Worked great for my Archery/Devices.I have always wanted a high lvl Pistollero, but never stick with one. I have two in the works now, a Devices and now an ELM. I like caltrops, and am using Cloak and Smoke Grenade. The reason I started the Electric melee is that devices at this lvl, really seems to have no way to handle bosses well. Much like my Arch/Dev. Im thinking the holds may help, along with a hard hitting melee attack, since they usually get to me anyway. I dont want to hover blast with pistols, so my usual tactics of my NRG/NRG are out.
Fire looked tempting, but Electric fit my character better, and is a little more rare. I wish Lighting field was more like Hot Feet though. -
Curse you and your dogs, Ham. Someone formed a Synapse just before I came on, and then five people wanted to start another after I had given up and was on a Moonfire about 90 minutes later. Ugh.
-
I reject and oppose your shoulder mounted dog launcher! Synapse is still going ahead! Shout out if you want in: it'd be good to have a few people set up going in to this.
-
Yup, you read it in the title. I don't know if I'm going to go entirely nutty and avoid the trials entirely Saturday night, but I may go for a Moonfire after this. Been neglecting my alts too much!

For those of you that need the time shifts, this would be 8 PM Eastern, 5 PM Pacific. Hope I can catch quite a few with this. -
Bit early, or I'd join in. I know I need a few of these on my two villains.
Good idea, for sure.
-
They have commented on it. They haven't been able to do it yet, as it's a lot more work and time. It is something they would like to do, but last I heard (from some meet and greet info), it's in the future... somewhere.
-
MOST of the rest. Nem Staff and some other things (Jack, Rikti Bombs, etc.) will still knock you on your end... I have three and know it, alas. It doesn't happen often, so you tend to remember the times it happens.
-
I like your work. Now tell them to put more of your emotes and stuff into new issues and not more packs.
-
Are you using Fiery Ammo? Get that ASAP and it will make a world of difference for damage. I listened to someone that told me I could put it off, and immediately regretted it when I picked up Swap Ammo at 24... it would have made Praetoria far easier (not that it was hard... I just would have mowed through things a lot quicker).
Blasters want to drop stuff NOW, so anything that helps with that is a good idea. Fire Ammo + Build Up + HoB means all or nearly all even con minions or lieuts are dead, and the couple that get lucky are dropped by Bullet Rain. Fun stuff.
I'd post more, but I am out of time. It's a great set and lots of fun to watch, to my mind. -
Quote:Especially on a smaller server, hopefully you'll be playing with people you know (or at least some of them), and be okay. If you're not playing with people you know, I suppose a quick explanation wouldn't hurt, though.I just didn't want to risk the alienation that Flux mentions below you- I play on the Protector server, a fairly small community and I'd like to avoid pissing anyone off lest I get black listed from trials. I agree 100% with Flux that it's extremely odd the way people are about it, but it is what it is I guess.
I'm going to try explaining myself ahead of time on the next trial I run so that people know I'm not intentionally being a jerk or trying to nerf their rewards- I need to buff off the groups before 10 scrappers flatten them.
The only real thing I've seen people get annoyed about is going AFK for no reason. I don't 1 star people very often, but I did so for one guy that was AFK and faceplanted for an entire BAF run. I knew he hadn't DC'd, and he didn't say anything about needing to get the door or something. I know real life is more important than a game, though, so I'm always fine if someone has to head out for a few minutes and say so (though if it's a long stretch, you would hope they wouldn't have hopped into a trial in the first place). -
Holy carp, seriously people? This is along the lines of people complaining in Gamestop's comments for City of Heroes that they had to pay a monthly fee to play the game.
This is an MMO, everyone. Things are going to change and be patched: I don't own the power Burn even though I love it and pay a monthly fee, either. The devs aren't in some obligation to know ever step of development they'll go through for years or to place those caveats everywhere for us. Expecting that is crazed, entitled, egregious, and outrageous. And feel free to say that with a Jackie Chiles intonation as well, it makes it more fun. -
Quote:I'd agree with the shapeshifting. I doubt you're ever going to see that kind of mez protection in human form, outside of maybe a solo only buff to Cosmic Balance (which I think is a good idea, especially with the precedence of Defender's inherent).Defences and for the love of pete SLOW resistance in Dwarf form.
Anti-mez (Mag 4) in Human form
Shapeshifting animations halved.
That alone would make life more bearable
Anyway, as I have said plenty of other places, I'd just like to see the adjustments Peacebringers (and Khelds, to a lesser extent) need to get balanced. Frankly, even costume adjustments to the forms goes behind those needs. -
Quote:Okay, there is a disconnect for statements I've seen like that here on the forums for the seventh book. It's necessary but tedious is rather contradictory. For me, that last book's opening starts you out hoping that things might work out okay, and then quite literally throws you in the pit of despair (with no Princess Bride, rasping voiced Albino to make you grin about it... slightly). The three are entirely alone and lonely, and Ron leaving is about ten times worse than the other issues he has occasionally had with Harry in previous books.I fully agree. The first half of that book was dreary and tedious. It may have arguably been necessary for the story, but good lord was it boring. Honestly the movie made the best of it possible.
That's not tedious, that's as sad and hopeless as life can get... a powerful statement, especially for many kids books and Hollywood stories these days, which have difficulty making things dark in a worthwhile way (other than being "gritty"). Getting to that point is depressing, yes (I was feeling like things were even more hopeless than after Dumbledore died), but something that makes the book work so well. When the Horcrux is destroyed, things feel like they are going up even when a certain important someone dies. The heights and hope that the seventh book has are not possible without those depths of despair we have to go through. Despair is not fun to go through, I know, but it is needed for the story, and not tedious. Tedious =/= not wanting to go through something.
As far as construction and pacing goes, I think the sixth and the seventh books are probably the best of the series. Books four and five were nice, but felt a little bloated and meandering, even if I liked a lot of the details they had. The last two books are quite driven despite having a lot going on in them, and I would say are the best of the lot. -
It's happening to me today, and happened yesterday, so whatever fixes they made did not rectify the problem.

Was on a Hami and a BAF last night on Victory with a lot of lag (Hami was the redside version), both utilizing the league window. Things were laggy enough on Hami that we gave up after the 50% phase... we were trying to redo things without being in a league, to see if that helped, but enough people had skipped out of zone that it wasn't seen as worth it. I have never seen lag on a Hami raid like this before, redside or blueside, though I have only been on a blueside one since I20 hit.
BAF was not quite as bad, but it was laggy, and we had 24 people in the league.
Ran an ITF afterward with a team of 8 and had no lag, other than the usual bits on the third map: and even that wasn't as bad as on the two leagues I had been on. -
I am having the same issues, and incidentally, this is happening with NC Soft's site as well (where you go for account management, etc.). These are the only websites where I have these issues as well.
Wish they would figure out what is going on.

Definitely... when I saw that bit about Brass Monday, I was honestly wondering WHY they hadn't implemented this in all the years since then. They should do this now... I would love to see that. Heck, make it a new task force with Orobouros, or something. The idea is a good one and should be implemented.
I know I would love that. -
Quote:Well, unless you're worried about levels lower than 50, of course. If you plan to never exemp, I guess you could rely only on your incarnate stuff, but I still don't think I would like to.With the crazy amounts of end management in Ageless coupled with the Cardiac Alpha, I don't think you need to invest too much in +recovery IO's anymore.
Heck, I have a Cardiac on my Fire Tank, and there are mobs out there that are draining me enough in the trials that I need Consume: and I have a fair amount of end and end recovery bonuses. -
Quote:Getting a decent IO build doesn't require farming or an SG or grinding. Sell what drops to vendors and spend a few minutes at Wentworth's once in awhile to see if you have any recipes that sell well. Pretty good guarantee that any rare or uncommon salvage will be worth a little cash, especially in mid to later levels.Syntax42: I know you're right and I understand the conventional wisedom of building for defense on FA (and actually just about any) build, but I don't have (or want) a SG and I hate farming and grinding. It's just not worth it to me.
Even better, just gather merits as you are playing things you like to play. I am able to slot a Numina's or Miracle Unique on each character, plus some other more rare IOs, just because I play story arcs with characters, as well as TFs. The merits really do add up. You can also do tip missions once in awhile when you feel like it and add up hero or villain merits that way. I hate farming those, so I just play them once in awhile and let my hero merits build up (usually when I don't have time for much else than one mission).
IOs are more of an investment than just buying a slew of SOs (though not that much when you consider you have to buy those every 5 levels, and you can get away with only creating and slotting once for IOs), but you shouldn't see it as a required farming or grinding thing. Play what you want to play, have fun, and you'll get enough inf to make a decent build. -
"Victory"
The daytime hours had lengthened to night by the time Ellie Weissman had found The Grey Pilgrim, sitting on a wall in Perez Park in the dark. His usual fiery glowresplendent and brilliant even in daytimehad softened to almost nothing, and his cloak and form blended in with the wall until he almost seemed a monumentto what, she was not sure.
She clambered up next to him and sat down, looking at his aged features. He looked an old man, but fought like one of twenty years. She didnt know if that or his actually being a man of twenty was the strangest part of him. She tried not to think about it.
He said nothing, so she finally asked. Did you find him? Did you find The Keeper?
He nodded.
What happened, did you beat him? Did you find out why hewell, did you find out why?
He picked a stone off the surface of the wall and tossed it into Everett Lake. He had a small pile next to him that she hadnt noticed before. The rock splashed loudly in the silence, and he finally spoke. Why he killed Harvey and my sister, you mean? Why he and the Circle of Thorns are so interested in me? Why I am the way I am?
Ellie hated to ask, but it had to be said. Yes.
He laughed, short and bitter. You could say that.
He said nothing more, and she respected that. He would tell her when he wanted toor not. Did you defeat him?
He nodded. I burned with the vengeance of a thousand worlds and immolated him with my purifying fire. Ellie swallowed, a sickening and a gladness in her heart. The Grey Pilgrim continued. And as he died, he told me everything, just as we wished he would: he even let the original soul of his body speak to me, at the end.
Thats good, isnt it? He shook his head, forcing Ellie to find other words. Wellpeople should at least know, Pilgrim. That theyre safe. Ill write up a little article about how people can sleep safely again, for The Keeper is gone.
He shook his head. Dont write anything.
Dont publish anything? Ellie asked. But people should know, Pilgrim. People should know about your victory over the Circle of Thorns.
He stood and gave a rough laugh, speaking before leaping into the twilight. The words hung in the air even after he left: There was no victory here. The Keeper was my father.
