I was just playing closer attention to the way I play, and noticed that I actually use Q and E a lot more then I thought, and don't use my mouse to turn that often. Wile in the middle of combat, playing a scrapper, I like to make settle adjustments. As well as make turns wile I'm moving. My mouse is used to fire off attacks from the power tray. Depending on my mood though I'll use the 1-0 keys to attack.

Thanks for the reply's everybody. It's fun to see how other people play.
  3. For the longest time the only MMO I ever played was this one. Then maybe 2 or so years ago I tried a few others. One of the things that threw me off was the movement keys. In this game the default keys are:

    Forward = W
    Back = S
    Strafe Left = A
    Strafe Right = D
    Turn Left = Q
    Turn Right = E

But in a few other MMO's, and Google searching to make sure I was right, they are:

    Forward = W
    Back = S
    Strafe Left = Q
    Strafe Right = E
    Turn Left = A
    Turn Right = D

It's not a big deal. Changing the keys is simple. But just for curiosity's sake, when you play this game do you keep the mapping by default, or do you change the movement keys (specifically the strafing and turning)? Or maybe you use the arrow keys?

I personally use the default lettered keys. I'm right handed so it's natural to use my right for the mouse and left to move. I actually don't use the Q and E keys that much but it happens, I tend to right click my mouse and move to turn my character. But A and D are used quite a bit. My fingers can also quickly be used on Q and E if need be.

I would love to see a discussion why other MMORPGs have Q and E for strafing, and A and D for turning by default. But I don't think it would appropriate for this board. It probably isn't appropriate for the comic culture board either. But if I am wrong please discuss away.

    edit:fixed a spelling error.
  4. That's an awesome pic.

I've never been to a con a before and I want to go to this one. But I probably won't be able to. I'll have to ask my friends if they want to go...
  5. @Nalrok_AthZim

Thats a great pic of Mother. Never played SIN before but I know that Elexis is modeled after a latex model, Bianca Beauchamp.

Edit: My bad. It's the other way around. Bianca modeled as Elexis at E3...

Keep in mind though that the "Sister Psyche" of Praetoria is in the body of their Aurora Borealis. Not their Shalice Tillman.
  7. As a person who prefers anime dubbed, I am glad sub fans can get something on Netflix. However, all of those shows can already bee seen, for free, on Hulu and I think Crunchyroll.

    edit:

    Quote:
There are a few exceptions. The Studio Ghibli dubs are actually pretty decent, although I'm sure it helps that the people in charge A) actually liked the movies a great deal and B) made the effort to get actual voice actors, rather than just shoving a microphone at random people in the coffee shop.
And C) The dubs are done by Disney (money) and they can get Hollywood actors.

As for coffee shops... most anime VAs today are or have had been in stage and theater. How good they are on stage I have no idea. Theater companies must like them for some reason...
  8. Evangelion 1.11 and 2.22 +1 for both
    Durarara +1
    Summer Wars +1
  9. I saw a few clips of the English dub on youtube. What sucks is that Jared isn't a good voice actor. But I can live with it. I've watched some medicore English dubbing before and still enjoyed shows (like Zeta Gundam). But Andrew Farrar (the dude voicing Dean until the last 2 episodes) is quite decent. He also vaguely sounds like Jensen. It's pretty cool.

edit: Got Jared and Jensen confused. >.<
    fixed.
  10. It's been confirmed that the DVDs and Blu-rays will be coming stateside.

    Quote:
Warner Bros. Television has confirmed on Monday that it will release Supernatural: The Anime Series via Blu-ray Disc, DVD, video on demand, and download in North America on July 26. The original American live-action television series Supernatural follows the Winchester brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) as they hunt creatures and other supernatural phenomena across the American landscape. Directors Shigeyuki Miya and Atsuko Ishizuka at the anime studio MADHOUSE adapted the general storyline from the live-action version's first two seasons with re-imagined stories as well as new stories.

Padalecki, the co-lead actor on the original live-action series, dubbed all 22 episodes of the first anime season. However, co-star Ackles only dubbed "select" episodes of Supernatural: The Anime Series.

The North American releases will feature both English (5.1) and Japanese soundtracks. The standard-definition release will come with English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing as well as French, Chinese, Spanish, and Thai subtitles for a sugggested retail price of US$49.98. The US$54.97 Blu-ray release will come with English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing as well as French, German, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Chinese, and Spanish subtitles.
  11. I for one hope I will end up enjoying this movie, and I'm glad there are a few other people in this thread that don't have a biased against Hollywood and adaptations.
  12. OK, I love this thread. Learning quite a bit about British slang.

I've seen it used on a few forums, including this one I think. Where at least one person would end their post, like a signature, with "Cheers". Confused me at first, then I thought it meant like it does in drinking. A toast, form of goodwill. Or some sort of celebration. Still odd and confusing though.

Never thought that it might come from the UK (Or is just England?) and mean "Thank You". Although "thank you" and a "toast" are a bit similar...
  13. Cyclops... I saw some smaller images and he looked feminine. But. Wow.
  14. I guess Warner Brothers felt that Japan (sorry for you people who hate Japanese animation character art) has enough of a fan base for a cartoon to be made of their hit show Supernatural, being done by Madhouse. It's going to be 22 episodes and will cover the story line from the first 2 seasons. It will also have additional side stories not shown in the live action version.

It was initially announced that Jared (Sam) and Jensen (Dean) would only provide their voices for the last 2 episodes. The Japanese voice actors who dub the live action will do the voices for this anime though. No US release announcement was made but the DVDs and Blu-Ray would have English subtitles, I think.

A few days ago WB of Japan said that Jared will do all 22 episodes. Jensen won't, but will still do the last 2 Episodes. (according to amazon.co.jp the other 20 episodes will be done by someone named Andrew Farrar) Rumor has it that there will be a US DVD release, but there is no official announcement.

    Trailers (in Japanese not English)

    Amazon.co.jp page (mostly in English)

I have to admit that I had interest in this show but never watched it. Till I saw the trailers for the Animation about a month ago . I've seen all of the first season and have the 2nd one in my Netflix queue. Sucks that Netflix doesn't have the 2nd season on BD though...

edit: fixed a few things that sounded odd, added links, etc.

It's pretty much a rollercoaster dealing with some pretty heavy issues like suicide and I would say, mental illness. I can't see myself watching the series again (probably), but it was worth watching at least once. I can find myself identifying with the protagonist on a few levels.

Interesting side note...the first five volumes in the series were put out by ADV, but the sixth is by Funimation. You might get some odd looks if you're buying the series in a brick and mortar store, since the covers of the volumes feature women in very fanservicey clothing that has absolutely nothing to do with the plot. The covers are not even representative of what the various volumes deal with.
I've only seen the first... 2 episodes I think. But I'm planning to watch the rest of it (hulu has all the episodes). From what I've seen I might have a similar reaction as you.

I kinda want to get those singles just for those covers.

  18. This just happened to me yesterday, Friday, and it's happened a few times before. I don't do this intentionally, its completely by accident. This probably wouldn't happen if I opened a pull box, but I don't have a problem hunting around the shop and paying full market price.

Has this happened to any of you? Or am I just unlucky? =p

  19. Interview with producer Ethan Spaulding.

Some interesting stuff in there. Like,

    Quote:
MTV: Lots of people are asking about Tygra...
SPAULDING: [Laughs] Everyone wants to know about Tygra, but that's sort of story-specific. I can't reveal too much. Basically, we wanted to make him cooler than he was. The consensus was that he was the boring guy of the old show, so we wanted to make him more interesting and gave him another dimension. But don't worry — he still has the whip. People were wondering where the whip was at one point, but it's on his belt.
    Quote:
MTV: And Panthro's looking a little more grizzled with that scar on his eye and such...
SPAULDING: Yeah, we're making him the older veteran. He's been out there on Third Earth exploring. He's the elder of the group, once they get together.
And for the people "bothered" by the anime inspiration. (although someone already said the animation studio is Japanese.)
    Quote:
MTV: Everyone's asking about the anime vibe in the image. Will the series have an anime feel to it? Does the anime vibe extend beyond the character designs?
SPAULDING: [It will extend to] the visual storytelling as well. The original show was done in Japan, and many people probably don't know that. A lot of the artists went on to be in Studio Ghibli, and worked on [Hayao] Miyazaki's first film. So "ThunderCats" does have a footprint in Japanese animation. We're kind of going back and honoring that in the new series. I was always a huge fan of the original show and I love the Japanese animation and what they can do, so we're really going back to the roots.
Theres other good stuff in there too.
  20. I've dealt with Llyod with a similar problem. He asked me what toon I wanted the items to go to. I guess he didn't see the e-mail the next day or wasn't in, because another GM sent me a response. However, that response was meant for another player (whoever it was for, they got the Venturesome badge. gratz ). A little later though he gave me the items back. So thank you GM Llyod and GM Roland.
  21. I like both Cheetaras. This one has a better cleavage though.
  22. Finished Eden of the East yesterday, I +1 it. I think it would go under drama, or action/drama.
Before that I finished Midori Days. Its a fun little show, +1 it too. Should go under comedy or romance.

And a few shows I forgot to +1 before.

    Outlaw Star
    Trigun
    Macross Plus
Ghost in the shell SAC seasons 1 and 2
