Judging solely by her appearance, maybe it's been decided to combine Super Girl and Power Girl?

And because they haven't been posted in this thread ...

    Here's Superman:

    Superboy:

    And Supergirl:

    So that's two without pants.
  5. In fairness, the over-the-top fake anger is what first got James Rolfe attention as the AVGN, which then kinda launched the initial wave of "internet reviewer characters". So it's the tried-and-true tactic, even though it's pretty much played out these days except in small doses.
  6. To further debunk the Freedom/Virtue/Union belief, we've had community folks over on Justice as well.

  8. If Walt Flannigan and Bryan Johnson are involved, I'll watch it.
  9. The title of this thread should really be "Seriously, TGWTG reviewers?" as that group are primarily responsible for the whole storyline-crossover stuff. I personally chalk it up to two things: overinflated sense of importance leading to ego-stroking via storyline, and the fact that when you become a TGWTG affiliate, you're required to produce a video at least once every two weeks or risk losing prime affiliate spots (which can lead to fewer views and thus less cash) and possibly even your place as an affiliate.

It's no coincidence that from that group, I've always preferred the reviewers who don't bog down their reviews with all that junk. The Snob, Lordkat (although he left TGWTG), older and more recent Spoony, Phelous (his skits and storylines are all tongue-in-cheek), etc. Even Nostalgia Critic when he doesn't rely on some of his more tired running gags. But then, I'm a no-frills kinda guy myself, so it kinda makes sense. Tell me something interesting and/or take the p*** out of something; I'm easy.

Regarding Linkara: I was a fan at first, but over time he's become so annoying to me that I don't even bother anymore.

Of course, James Rolfe remains a favorite. Then again, he is currently working on an AVGN movie. So he could still fall out of favor.

Flash suit tweaks are minor. Looks like the symbol on his chest is more of a solid, raised emblem thing than just fabric of the suit like we have had previously.

Batman costume looks to be minor tweaks, as someone else said. A more solid looking glove. And what looks to be a bit of a utility belt redesign. Possibly a bit more solid cowl, as well.

Cyborg looks good. Not fond of the extra metal around his chin and cheekbones, however.

Wonder Woman looks to have the full leggings. I won’t say that’s bad, but I won’t say it’s good either. Still cannot tell if they are supposed to be black or dark blue.
To me, it looks like they're taking Batman closer to his Arkham Asylum video game look. Which isn't bad.

Also, are ALL supers in tights going to have the same high collar?
  11. As a fan of Stephanie Brown and Zatanna's solo books, I'm worried.

As someone who likes the Batman books in general, I'm concerned.

As someone who was over the moon that Swamp Thing was recently brought back into the mainstream DC universe, I hope I have no reason to be upset in the near future.
  12. Pyronic actually DOES do something new. The VFX is textured so as to help it look more like real fire. I can't recall if the colorable versions are also textured (we were told this during the I20 pre-beta, so it's been a while), but I know for a fact the default version is.

Furthermore, ALL the Judgement powers use unique VFX. For a while in beta they were all using placeholder effects and the difference is night and day.

Once the next fix goes in, Interface procs in rains and auras will function like normal IO procs do when slotted into those types of powers. This is the intended design of Interface, as stated by one of the devs (Black Scorpion, if I recall correctly).

Just so you know, you can run the two trials without having even unlocked your Alpha slot; doing so will start building iXP so that it WILL unlock. Furthermore, you don't need to have any of the other slots unlocked to take part in the trials. They aren't some sort of uber-elite events designed only for the top 1% of players with twinked-out builds. And they're nothing like farming or power-leveling, either. They're basically just timed, multi-objective missions that a bunch of teams can all participate in at the same time.

In their opinion (which I personally happen to agree with in this case), it's better to go ahead and fix the imbalance then fix the fix ASAP, rather than let rain powers slotted with Reactive interface procs remain highly overpowered until they can get everything fully sorted out.

It's a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" situation, and they decided to go ahead and put a stop-gap measure into place for the time being. Big deal. I'm sure every last developer and QA team member at Paragon would love to be able to instantly fix any and every bug that comes up with but a snap of their fingers. But things don't work that way in the real world. Sometimes fixes to bugs cause other bugs but cannot be pulled because there is a production schedule they'd like to keep.
  17. I'm good for both, to be honest.

Right now, I'm focusing on trials more because I'm trying to play catch-up on about a month of lost playtime.

That said, after today's patch, I have good reason to run the WST every week.

The link in Torell's post works just fine, and the announcement for the Keyes event is also on the main CoH site. Trying to get to the full announcement on the main site is bringing back a 404, but it can be accessed just fine on the Going Rogue site. So who knows?
  19. That's ... wow. So we might see Issue 20.5 sooner than later?

Also, the announcement in the link said that the event will be happening on the BETA SERVER, not the Training Room. So you'll need to set up another CoH client to access the beta server if you don't already have one in place. The article links to a forum post explaining how to get onto the beta server.

Precision-injection molded high-grade polypropylene. It won't break. It won't warp. You can smash a cement block with it and run it over with a truck. Will not weather, crack, splinter or fade. At 2lbs. 1oz. it can be swung repeatedly in a hectic situation with minimal fatigue. The shorter 29" version provides the best versatility in a confrontation with zombies. Also, it cleans with soap and water.

This is, hands down, the BEST melee weapon for a zombie invasion. Take it from someone who actually has a bug out kit specifically in case of zombies. Not tornadoes, or earthquakes, or random natural disasters, ONLY FOR ZOMBIES. The baseball bat is your best bet for survival.

Not only that, but the chainsaw itself is just too impractical.

You're obviously not going to be using an electric chainsaw, so you're stuck with a gas-powered model. The gas can run out on you, the engine can stall, and it won't necessarily start up every single time you try. Then there's the fact that, although the odds decrease when you're cutting through flesh, that the chain can get caught on something This can lead to the saw not operating, the chain breaking, or the saw even being pulled from your hands. Finally, chainsaws are noisy when operational. So you're forced to choose between either only starting it up when necessary and risking failure, or keeping it running and potentially drawing the attention of more undead than wanted.

Sure, it looks cool when Bruce Campbell is cutting through scores of Deadites. But that's just a movie. This is the real world, and a chainsaw is NOT a good weapon for fighting the undead. To be honest, any weapon which requires you to be within grabbing and biting distance of the undead isn't a good weapon. But if you do want some sort of close-range weapon for fighting the undead, you can do much better than a chainsaw.
