even WoW has animated hair
[/ QUOTE ]
It does?! I've never noticed it. Character models in WoW are horribly basic.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly - if even they have it, then it must be a basic human right

edit: why was this thread on the first page, when Hammerfall's answer above mine is from 2006? Sry for gravedigging.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's ok - it wasn't you, it was a forum bug - it sometimes brings up old threads for no reason

I am angry that these new developers haven't registered here and talked to us at length about every conceivable aspect of the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
I am furious that they haven't provided us with a scehdule for the next 5 years of content, with an exact time and release date for each Issue and patch. -
New members of the recently expanded dev team starting to interact with the community is clearly just a cover for upcoming closure of the game - the only remaing question is whill the last server shut down on Monday or Tuesday?
Hey, it's almost the weekend

Oddly, the *most* beautiful thing I've seen in-game... was a bug.
For a few memorable days last year, the fog lifted in Dark Astoria. And underneath the blanket of evil was a wonderfully-designed, beautifully atmospheric map with rich detail, a working city... just abandoned. Really gorgeous, and much, MUCH creepier without the fog. (Think trading a grainy Romero movie for the painful sharpness of 28 Days Later...)
TBH, if I was going to ask for anything, I'd ask for a slight concept shift from the devs about DA - remove the fog, but lock it to an eternal moonlight night...
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the fog adds more character to DA - which it needs, as its buildings really need to be older and more gothic

And now the Devs say they have been holding back on just what the engine is capable of, maybe if they let rip with the current game-engine features It'll keep the wolves from the door for a year or two with regard to the mounting requests for an engine overhaul or redux.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not too worried about a new graphics engine per se.... What we DO need, is better character MODELS. The current ones just... Suck.
Oh, and better faces too plx!
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed new character models please and dare i say it animated hair too
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, this would be good

I prefer the gender-neutral "deity", or even "pantheon"
[/ QUOTE ]
<pet hate>"God" *is* gender-neutral - hell, it's not even gender-required</pet hate>
[/ QUOTE ]
Then why does the word "goddess" exist then?

Well, getting too much is still better than getting too little - you can just delete the stuff you don't need to make space for the stuff that you do need
[/ QUOTE ]
You keep missing the point, its not getting it, its getting people to drop it off, then having people steal it.
Its just a bad, epic fail idea from start to finnish.
[/ QUOTE ]
But surely most people will keep the really valuable salvage in their own vault? -

Imagine a future in the CoH universe where there are no superheroes and people look back on these days and call them the times when "Gods walked the Earth".
[/ QUOTE ]
And goddesses
[/ QUOTE ]
The word "gods" can refer to all deities collectively, not just male ones.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is about as acceptable as "guys" meaning everyone
[/ QUOTE ]
Which I also use and have never had any problems with.
Are you one of those people who gets annoyed when people refer to the "race of man" even though the oldest known usage of the word refers to humans, regardless of gender?
Seriously GG, you don't really get wound up when people refer to "gods" when talking about a pantheon like the Egyptian gods or Norse gods and don't use "goddesses" unless specifically referring to a particular female deity, do you?
If so, I have no interest in discussing this with you.

What exactly inspired you to bring this thread back up?

Or, if it was too complex to add the light indicator, perhaps they could make a text propmt like you get for the sk/mentor range, so you'd get one text bubble telling you were near to the glowie, then antother saying you were very close to it.
The propmt could be enabled/disable via the options menu. -

-
Hard earned? The salvage inventory fills up pretty fast - you somtimes even have to delete stuff from it if it becomes full during a mission
-
But your treachery might not be forgiven so quickly

and is good that the invention salvage is being used in creation of the base items.
[/ QUOTE ]
Whats good about it?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, it's more streamlined having just one type of salvage. -

I still hate the idea of going rogue. If it was in the game from the start, choises affecting the end result it'd me amazing. To add it now however. Well, explain empath and the other carefully planned differrences between villain/hero. It's just a bad idea imho.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the idea of a fallen Hero or redeemed Villain is a great idea.
But I also like the idea of your actions shaping your path, which could also be added to the game if they make a reputation system to keep track of your actions.
There are just so many awesome possibilities if you could only access certain contacts, missions and areas depending on what you'd done earlier in the game, especially if they added a Neutral choice when you were making your avatar, so you wouldn't start as good or evil.
Of course, they'd need to add branching missions to let you choose between doing the right thing or the wrong thing to allow your reputation to go up or down. -
I wonder if it's possible for them to add a "visual glowie" to the game? Like a little light beside the health and XP bar that pulses and grows bigger when you get closer to a glowie?
