Well, the security checks are to protect your account - they need to have some way of making sure you're the real owner and not someone trying to steal an account.
EDIT: Welcome back to the game and the new forums anyway

Quote:Well, they could also remove stuff too - like if something wasn't working as intended, they might decide to drop it from the latest build and put it back on Test for a bit until they got it right.Heh, that sounds like a cool idea!
Seriously, though, they don't "slip in little tweaks after the final testing phase." Whatever's on Test is what's going to go live. Now, if there were exploit fixes on Test they wouldn't have put those in the patch notes, true, but they don't "slip" stuff in without it being on Test first. -
They're working to fix the dev digest - their main priority was to get the basic forums working, which they are - now they're fixing the extra stuff.
-
Quote:But they can still slip in little tweaks after the final testing phase - just because the most recent test patch notes don't mention PLing your avatar in the MA will now turn your costume white with red spots, doesn't mean to say they haven't slipped it in just before they applied the patchIf only there were a place that patches were tested before going live, and if only there were a place that patch notes for said test patches were posted...

Quote:The deeper ones seem to be when you're higher level now - so you'l either have a travel power, or the Ouroboros Portal if it all gets too much for youYep. It's not an AE thing. That's a bit out of line...
And they also removed a lot of the deep placed maze doors in perez from rotation a while back. You still get a couple but they're of the relatively easy to find variety.

If you're unlucky, you might even get both

Quote:But still not properly undergroundMy original intention was to just add that there was a lower level zone than the two you mentioned that had mission entrances that were hard to get to.

Plus, Faultline also thows in the fun of trying to work out how to get to the other side of the dam

Can't 45s get mentored by 50s to get something?
-

I wonder if the new Hellfire Whip is some sort of leader only power to make it easier to drive a team in the right direction?
-
Quote:It's still not exactly a much visited zoneThat technique doesn't always work in Perez. You can easily miss the path you were supposed to take while watching the yards count down and find yourself staring at an wall of trees that you can't go around or jump over. Not everyone has the vidiotmaps patch that reveals the maze under the trees.
The maze in Perez can be considered underground because there is no way to get under the canopy of treetops except at certain locations where theres an entrance so flyers are forced to travel under the treetops.
The chances are still pretty high that the first unusal mission door a new player will encounter will be in Faultline. -
Quote:Not underground, no - you just follow the arrow, and once the yards count down to 0, you'll be right in front of the door. You mean they no longer have mission entrances in the woods in Perez Park?
In Faultline, you can follow the arrow to 0 yards and be standing out in the open with no visible doors near you. -
Actually, apart from Skyway City, Faultline is the first place a new player would run into hidden mission doors.
-
Quote:The bank missions aren't always in the zone they take place in - for example, you were doing radio missions in Faultline, so you'll need to find the police van in Faultline that will take you to a map of the area around the Steel Canyon bank - you don't have to actually go to Steel Canyon itself.I got a mission from the police radio in Faultline that says to protect a bank in Steel Canyon from robbers. I went to Steel Canyon and found a bank but there was nothing happening there and the doors wouldn't open for me. I went back to Faultline and noticed that there was a direction indicator pointing west. I followed it to the section wall and it indicated that the target location was about 200 yards on the other side of the wall! I looked around for a tunnel or something but couldn't find anything like that. What is going on here?
The direction arrow you found in Faultline will point you to the palce where you will enter the special Steel Canyon bank map.
If there's no visible door or van, then that means it will be in a tunnel or underground garage, so you'll need to look for a road that leads downwards.
Also, welcome to the new forums

Also, thanks in advance for GR, and the animated hair which I just know you're going to give us one day.

Quote:They're also running an extra 2XP weekend after I16 goes live to make up fro any problems this weekend.well appearntly the Op was not on protector....lag and LCMS was horrible. I think they took our server and gave us the junk Freedumb one in return. There is a reason some of us play on lower pop servers, so we dotn have to put up with all that crap. I noticed that AFTER, DXP weekend, they added an Atlas2....shakes head, that might have been called for Friday night and theu the weekend, not after the event was over.
Oh well, still a successful DXP for me, hope yall had fun too -
Quote:Right now, I think teaming with friends or soloing stories you like the look of is the best way to play the AE if you're not into farming/PLing.Told the team that, that's it for me and AE, I'm never coming in here, ever again.
And I won't.
I hate it in there, I've never had a single good experience in AE in 6 attempts.
Screw AE - I had high hopes, I was really looking forward to it. But turns out it's a freakin' disaster that has completely warped what CoH USED TO be all about.
If you're with friends, and the object is just to play through interesting missions in the AE, then you can have just as much fun there as in normal missions.
