While Scott Pilgrim has been a disaster, Jonah Hex was a full-scale catastrophe

Quote:I think it's because studios are usually looking for cutting edge effects - so while the type of effects that were once cutting edge are now cheaper to make, the latest cutting edge ones aren't, and are in fact more expensive because it requires more work to improve on the previous cutting edge effects. However, one thing about Scott Pilgrim's cost to make that bugs me is that most of that money probably went into SFX. It always baffles me (heh) to see as SFX and CGI become more and more common place that the price to get movies made is not decreasing, but increasing. I thought I remembered in my basic economic's course that as a good becomes more manufactured (and how it gets made should become more "simple" and "easy"), the price of said good should decrease.
Now, of course, with SFX/CGI it is a service, not a good, but it isn't like there is only one or two major SFX studios anymore and they are teaching computer graphic courses in college now. So why has a movie effect that is entering its second decade of constant use driving movie prices up? -

Did it really cost more than 30 million in marketing? Because if that's true, then that's just the lol-cherry on top of the fail-cake

The lipstick should actually go on all the lips, not just the front bit

The Batman TV show was one of the greatest things ever created in human history

This could also be Incarnate related, as they've said Incarnate content uses zone events, which sounds like some kind of raid-based system, so maximizing the abiltiy of players to team up for it regardless of what servers they're on seems like a sensible idea.
Plus, the new tech of the Winter Lord's realm, with an instanced co-op raid map being spawned after completing a zone task, was added to the game way after GR was announced, and after the endgame system started being developed.
So if they're going with the MMO endgame = multi-team raids idea, then cross-server teaming totally makes sense. -
Seems a weird place to generate power for the East Coast

It was called the evil Empire for a reason

The best trailers ever still are - and maybe always will be - the two for Episode I

I think this might be another case of players way over-estimating just what the hint is actually going to be about

Nice work!
This next one isn't really Resistance themed, but it's GR themed, so that probably counts
It's another one that was wiped with the closed beta forum section.
Originally, it was part of a thread where people were requesting the Bobcat reclining emote for players, and there was some discussion about how an exact copy of it would need something for the players to lean on, as she's leaning on the arm of the sofa - so I was going to make a picture to show how the emote could be tweaked to work without needing anything for the arm to rest on, but then I expanded it into 3 panels of mild silliness

She didn't die - she just went to the next level.

They should have charged us $7:99 for those changes

Two replies, and no mention of a coming storm or a hurricane improving the look of the Rogue isles?
