Quote:"They" and "their" work just as well, and don't cause any confusion - it avoids male bias, but doesn't make people wonder if the words are real or notNo, they're not. They're condescending, judgmental, superficial, artificial creations intended to demonstrate the supposed moral superiority of the speaker.

One idea to freshen up bases might be to let mission maps be used as base plots.
Scrap the requirement of needing certain rooms before you can place objects, like computers, generators, TP pads and so on, and instead just allow a certain amount of poer/control/TP pads/defensive items based on the size of the map.
The mission maps are already indexed in the MA, and graded by size too - if they could be somehow made able to be opened in the base editor, then I think that'd be awesome - and with no base raids, the ability to clip, stack or hide objects wouldn't really matter at all.
Player could have sewer bases, or bases in Cimeroran tunnels, or CoT dungeons, or Praetorian labs - a magical SG could have the Cimeroran templs as its base, and a tech villain SG could have the Hess TF final map as its base - there really would be a huge amount of new possibilities. -

Quote:Team forced? It's the only part of the game that flat out tells you you have to go solo for missionsTeam forced - Praetoria sucks if you're a squishy. It's City of Ambushes and I never make chars there now. Well-written but far too irritating on anything other than a tank/scrapper/stalker.
You're missing the point of the Incarnate system - a slot = 1 level - the 2 new TFs are level 51 content, unless you're level 51, you can't play them - just like you can't play the ITF at 34.Quote:[Gear focused - The necessity of Apex/Tin having the Alpha slotted (or be useless) isn't a welcome one but at least the shards will drop when solo. Very slowly. Level-restricted TFs/content is one thing but gear restricted is an unwelcome change.
There are at least 2 new raids in I20 - one 12-24 player raid on the BAF, and one that seems to involve Mother Mayhem's asylum, going by the concept art we've seen so far.Quote:
Raid-focused/forced - I'm looking right at you Cathedral of Pain. This is EXACTLY what I would hate CoX's end game content to become. Bigger isn't necessarily better. Of all the TFs in the game I will run this last. Is it hard? Not always? Is it a gigantic pain in the rear? Yes and that is why I won't run it. I do not want to sit around for an hour coordinating three teams. It's a waste of my (paying playing) time. This Trial stinks of other MMO's and I hope it is the absolutely the last time we see something like that.
Multi-team challenges are an important part of an MMO, as they can give an epic scale that single team fights can't reach.
But anyone can have the "gear" - odd builds and altitis don't exclude anyone from opening the Alpha slot - players have been unlocking slots since level 3 by earning XP, and the Incarnate system continues that - only now you don't even need any XP to unlock the Alpha slot.Quote:You spent years encouraging odd builds and altitus and now you change to must have x gear.
TFs and raids have been a popular part of CoH since they were first added to the game - the devs are just giving us more of them, which a lot of players have been asking for for ages.Quote:There's a definite shift in focus and it is off putting to those who have played this game for years. Unless you think getting other MMO players here replaces those of us who will get irritated and tired of this new direction. -
One big reason is because teaming is the main pupose of an MMO - there's no point in having players sharing a game world unless they're going to interact with each other.

Comic books are still quite sexist, but they've been worse in earlier times, and are getting better, like society in general.
And like society in general, as long as people keep working towards proper equality, then we'll eventually get it in comic books. -
The Incarnate system should satisfy your need for higher levels

Quote:Do you mean early morning, or very late at night?Gosh that is sweet of you...this is the Golden Girl I perceive you as being

Actually, I was on Protecter during a Halloween Costume contest and was thrilled to see you in , err, "person" so to speak. Grin, color me odd, but I enjoy seeing forum regulars in game
I play my Heroes on Victory and Infinity and my Villians on Protector. As far as playtime goes, I am usually, not always but usually, on at very early morning hours--most probably way too early for you...but...thanks for the offer

The Alpha slot can only be opened at level 50 - so you're not actually being made to wait for it

I'd like the Atlas globe to revolve, the City Hall to get a second floor so there's actually space for the offices where the city is run from, fountains in the water pools, and the park areas to be landscaped instea dof the current "wild" look, so there'd be more walls and flowerbeds, like in Nova Praetoria.

Quote:They are - but customization means that players will riff off any costume part, no matter how classic comic book it is.
The thing is, here, we don't have a GM. We have devs. And I still have to ask if they're truly into the super hero genre.
If devs give players the ability to look like Martian Manhunter then someone's going to tint the costume parts pink and call themsleves Martian Manlover.
If devs give players a Batman style outfit and a huge Hulk style body type, then someone's going to combine them to make Fatman.
If devs give players a Power Girl style outfit, then someone's going to tint it in trippy colors, add long hair, and make Flower Power Girl.
Unless every single costume and name had to be submitted to the GMs for approval, and then locked so that they couldn't be altered without further permission, then it's simply not possible to have a "pure" looking comic book game. -

Quote:What sevrer are you on, and when do you usually play? I think I might be able to help youI am capable, just not coordinated. Solo, I do well, but when teamed my deficiencies are obvious to me... crashing into walls which results in my losing the team, sometimes not being able to lock on to my target, I am a slow typist which got me accused of being stuck up.
