I don't think they'd ever admit it, but I think that the I13 PvP changes must cause them a few moments of regret

Also, launching AE without stricter controls to stop exploits, the public announcement of the City Vault, not introducing the Inventions sytem at the same time as ED, and having to pull the Alpha slot from GR - although that one was partly our fault

It's a great show - they're just to enthusiastic for the game.

Quote:They said on the UStream broadcast today that Statesman would still be used in promotional artwork, and that he'd very likely remain as the iconic symbol of heroism in the game.I just want to go on record saying that I hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE the fact that Statesman is getting killed off. I'm not going to let it sour the arc for me or anything. But I'm one of the very rare people in game who are pro Statesman. Always have been, always will be.
And lets not even start about that chump Praetorian wannabe filling in for him.

Having a team of maxed out Incarnates doing the old non-Incarnate content is quite a lot of fun - especially when you get things like Romulus telling his master that he can't defeat us because we wield the power of the gods
-
The SSAs actually come with a warning now that says they mightn't be suitable for everyone to handle on their own.

You're going to becoem a gold farmer?

But seriously, I hope your move works out well, and you enjoy the next phase of your life - we'll all miss you here! -

Quote:And he still willNo, it's because Statesman casts a shadow over every man, woman, and robot in the city.

Not a chance - it'll be memorable and heroic, which is fittong for the greatest hero in the CoHverse - even if he is only going on vacationQuote:Hopefully whatever kills Statesman does it in the most undignified, unheroic way possible
-
Quote:Well, Statesman dying was never the easiest path - that was BAB - he could have been replaced by Blue Steel with zero impact on the game world or meta-story.It wasn't exactly a rocket-science style leap of logic, even from the very beginning, for anyone that expected them to "take the easy path".
Statesman is actually the hardest one to remove, because he's so tied up with the out of game artwork and promotional material, as well as being the most recognizable public image of the game, and along with Recluse is one of the 2 iconic moral anchors that the 2 sides are built around. -

No - the heroic ideal will continue to be Statesman - he'll still be the greatest hero in the CoHverse, even if he's dead - especially as the way he goes down is supposed to be pretty epic.

With the timing of his death, the end of the SSA and probable timeframe for the release of I22 and possibly I22.5, the "Death Incarnate" title for the Issue might have some link to Statesman too.
Although they said at the Player Summit that the title was linked to the new Incarnate Trial in I22 where Diabolique tries to tap into Mot's power to become death incarnate, and how Mot in general could be regarded as death incarnate because he's a god of death, they mightn't have wanted to mention any link to the death of Statesman, as that was still a secret at the time. -

One of the things I wondering about with the big hint from the Player SUmmit that Tyrant is going to be defeated permanently is how that might affect the Praetorian zones - like have they built in some larger scale phase tech that would change the zones to look like they'd been liberated from the loyalists dictatorship, or might they decide to go with the idea that the zones are "historical", so that they'd remain unchanged, as they'd be meant to represent Praetoria pre-war?
For example, rather than Nova Praetoria being treated like Atlas Park as a contempory zone for all levels where the timeframe is up to date, they might decide that Nova Praetoria is "frozen" at the GR point of the storyline, where the war still hasn't started yet.
Freezing the zones at the pre-war stoy point would be the easiest way to go, not only because it'd save having to alter the zones to reflect the fall of the dictatorship, but it'd also save them having to make new post-dictatorship content for the zones, whioch they'd have to make if they were going to change the look of the zones. -

The hotpants mez the whole chamber, so you can't move from where you're standing.

I wonder if we'll get a statue of Statesman added to one of the zones?
I think one in the park area between Atlas Plaza and the Vanguard building would be nice, with a pool or fountain around it.
EDIT: Actually, that might not be such a good place for it - it'd mean Ms. Liberty would be looking at it 24/7
Maybe replace the generic statue in the midlde of the lake in Prometheus park with a Statesman staute instead? And rename the park too, to be more sensitive
Another place in Atlas Park could be the sunken bowl area where the zowies are, although it mightn't be so nice to have his statue surrounded by mobs. -
