Yes as in both, be able to solo AV's and take them on with a team.

This is my non soft capped build, possessing great dmg and recharge at the sacrifice for travel power and being non-soft capped. Suggestions on ways to get this to soft capped, changes, non critical or bad choices?

  2. I've looked at over 10 rows worth of threads and found 2 MA/SD posts. One had 0 replies the other 3. First question, is this just not a fun build, terrible synergy, what gives? I enjoy it so far, lvl 41; however, I can't seem to soft cap and keep the stuff I like. So, just eye balling it, this build looks incredibly hard to accoplish the 45/45/45 build to all positions without sacrificing maybe more than it's worth to get there. Is this true, and ergo the reason ppl don't build this AT power combo? If you have, know, or can build and post an MA/SD soft capped please post. From there I can handle it or bounce questions of the forums. Getting there myself is requireing more Build Fu than I posses with out sacrificing hours of my life to figure it out. I know their are some Build Fu Masters and Prodigies out there who can fix it up in no time or have one they built just for shizz and gigglez. If that's you please post here so we can get a somewhat decent MA/SD build and THREAD going. Thanks in advance for the input Heroes/Villians.
  3. I have Armageddon in it, but was thinking of changing to Oblit, guess not. I can't hit soft cap for his positions either, so, trying diffrent stuff for that as well. I based his slotting and attacks off of your MA/SR build Werner for DPS; however, it only clocks him in with a 34% Melee, 38 Range, and 39 AOE...so pretty far off from that golden # of 45.
  4. But can it be used when it's up to SC an AV and not drop the DPS attack chain?
  5. The BEST attack chain for MA is SK>CK>SK>CAK....but can you add SC (Shield Charge) for more DPS or does it lower the DPS? Same question for (insert Attack Chain here) + SC?
  6. This is 2 questions:
    1. How do you get a +3 Hami-O? By combining 2?
    2. How do you list a +3 Hami in Mids?

    Thanks.

    MA/SD Questions

Not to jack your thread, but I don't want to start a whole other MA/SD Question thread. So, I'll ask here. The BEST attack chain is SK>CK>SK>CAK....but can you add SC (Shield Charge) for more DPS or does it lower the DPS?

Now I have gone and paid for the GR expansion (as I havee bought all the booster packs and such). but here you can have someone brand new to the game, never played it at all, get all THREE games for ten dollars more that what I paid for the expansion. They get the item pack and a free month of time. Where I have BOUGHT coh and paid the monthly fee......then I BOUGHT cov when it came out. Stop and figure this for a minute. I spent $30+ for coh when I got it, I spent $30+ for cov and now I just bought GR for another $30. Now count in all those monthly payments for not only me but for my wife as well (and buying the games as well) THEN your going to tell me that someone can spend $40 and get ALL THREE games and an item and a month of play!!!! AND I will have to spend more money to get the item pack and NOT get any more play time to boot! For the VERY first time I feel like I am being ripped off by ncsoft! Depending how they handle this will also depend on IF I keep playing the game or not. Once I have the feeling of unfairness and a company, I never deal with them again. This is the ONLY online game I play and as much as I would hate to leave it, that is just my nature.

    Doing some figureing:
COH $45 (when it first came out and I bought, might have been $40 but am pretty sure it was $45)
    COV $40 ( I waited a bit for a sale)
    Wedding pack $10
    science pack $10
    Martial arts pack $10
    Cyborg pack $10
Monthly fee for 61 months $915 ( I took into consideration the 2 months free for buying coh and cov)
    GR $30

That comes to $1060:00 over 5+ years time!

So now you tell me why some noob to the game can spend just $40 and get an item pack and a free month for just $10 more than I spent on the expansion and get access to everything (except vet stuff) that I can and then some? Just not right......not right at all!

It isn't even the fact that they get all 3 games, but the month of free time AND the item pack! Compared to my loyality and time and money in the game and I get no free time and have to pay extra for the item pack?!?!?!? something tells me ncsoft is getting greedy and starting to find ways to put the thumb screws to us old timeres who have been their bread and butter for years.

I would suggest that they watch what they are doing here very closely. Times are hard and while (IMHO) they are the best game in town....they aren't the only one. Last thing they need is for their loyal fan base to start feeling cheated........like I am with the way this is looking at the moment.

I would suggest that those that prepurchased GR get the item pack for free (since they already pard for it basically) and let the complete buyers get the free month and all 3 games for their extra $10 paid.

While I wouldn't turn down a free month it isn't that imprtant. But to make me pay more for something that is (as I and others see it) part of something I have already paid for sems like a rip off to me. If timing is part of the problem, fine don't make them available till GR goes live, but don't punish your customers over your greed.
Here, Here . . . and well said. I was feeling this same slight when I read the FAQ abot buying the pre-purchase. How badly does NCSoft want to screw it's fan base. I suppose they are counting on blind devotion and the lack of a good Hero based MMO to contend with (Most people would agree that CO sucks.) So, I feel they are using monopoly like tactics. . . this is the rehetoric I am reading between the lines "If you don't like us bending you over the table, go play another Hero MMO. Oh but wait, the other one sucks and we know we are the best in town so go ahead and leave, you'll be back." That kind of thinking is what gets companies and their bottom line in trouble. NCSoft it is time to make a paradigm shift in your thoughts toward your fan base. Quit abusing your customers just because you can. I have five key points I would like the Red names to look at and take back to their pay masters. I am sure they know these and more, but a little reminder is needed every now and again.

    1. Nothing lasts forever
    2. You won't always be at the top of your game/industry
    3. New and better things are always on the horizon
    4. If you cheat your customers, eventually (not soon) the loyalty leaves and so does the customer
    5. You can and will Fail!

Number five is the most important one to realize; however, you can mitigate your losses, and styme the mass exodus by providing superb customer service. Treating your customers with the same loyalty and respect they give you is a sure fire way to keep your customer loss down, when you hit the rough times. It is time for a change NCSoft, please do it not only for us, your loyal (but for how long) customers but, do it for yoursleves. My final thoughts are a story I would like to share with you. It is about a company called Reliant Energy in Texas. For along time they were top dog among the energy business, and they were really great. Then they realized their wasn't really any competition and raised their prices, customer loyalty was high, so they stayed the course. Eventually, they raised their prices so high, and the customer support became so terrible that customers begged congress to do somehting. What happend was a lot of new upstart energy companies were able to come in and take over the business of energy becuase the prices for Reliant were locked and they couldn't come down to match the other companies. They, as the ufamism goes; "painted themselves into a corner" and paid the price, loosing many customers. You have a choice not to do that to your customers, so don't.

What does Placate proc do, why is it broken?

Ok so why IS Psy/EM blaster considered one of the best PvP toons? From what I've seen in RV (disclaimer: Not a lot, still rookie) all the AT's are either Corrs, Some Brutes and Tanks, and lots and lots of Stalkers/Scrappers. Very, Very few Blasters that I've seen, and they get nailed right away when they appear too, so thinking BLASTER=TARGET

I know of quite a few people who have left, actually. Not particularly do to this one thing, but it was amid the argument points. Heck, I left for awhile as well. I'll be leaving again soon until GR comes out. I also know that a majority of players don't have anything else to flock too at the moment (thanks to the cataclysmic failure of CO); however, I'd bet that once more MMO's that are good come out, you'll see more of an exodus. As for me, when SWTOR comes out, I porbably won't bother with this game ever again, unless some MASSIVE fixes come down the pipe. Heck, I'll even take a break for Mass Effect 2, Star Craft 2 and others to fill the void till SWTOR comes out, just not to play this game. I feel a lot of others will be right there with me as well, but only time will tell.

I didn't ask about Doms, just because I never see them in PvP. I just asked an off the wall question about Doms. I figured since Psy/EM blaster was Tops for blasters, then a Psy/Dom should be decent, albiet I am very unschooled in PvP, which is why I asked.

  17. Just so I have this right in my head, generally speaking the ranks go as follows:

Scrapper: Fire, BS (Fire for sustainable dmg & BS for Spike)
Not sure what follows these 2

Stalker: Elec, EM, Spines in that order?

Blaster: Fire, Psy, Rad in that order?

    Corr: ? No clue Sonics?

    Tanks: Fire and SS

    Brutes: Same?

Is there a Best to worst for AT's power sets floating around out there? If so could someone point me in that direction. I'd be happy to go and read it for myself or if ya'll want to impart ya'lls knowledge here, I'm all ears. . .err, Eyes

I was missing the Crit Factor; however, it still doesn't explain why some people posted EM as better than Elec in some posts I looked at. Now they might just be newbs like me, or perfer EM, I don't know, so I'll leave that in the "Who knows why, but they are wrong" category. Thanks for clearing things up for me, MAC and Black and MrLiberty. I have no problem being told I am wrong, I only have a problem when someone assumes something about my character without asking me? Maybe it has something to do with my years in the service, but never assume something about another individual unless you have proof to support assumption, or you've asked the individual. Now, my coutner to that is, have I ever assumed something, you bet. Do I try not to, absolutely, but we are all human and make mistakes.

EM/* does not do more damage than Elec. Not in PVP. This isn't PVE. Go check real numbers and look around those before you post again. We are here to give you a bit of practical advice, asking about basic numbers just comes off as lazy.
Ok. I can appreciate when someone tells it like it is; however I am not lazy and I did look at the numbers. I also asked around in the PvP sections for which is better and got EM as a Top dmg producer. I checked the numbers in game and in Mids for PvP, and EM is showing more damage. Here is the breakdown I am seeing, or as your obtuse, ball sucking, defender of black briar's ball sweat, lackey Snacks, oh sry Slax says,

Looking at these numbers purely it looks like Elec Melee rings in with an average dmg @494 and EM @526. So, I'd say EM wins with just pure number assessment. Now I'm not a guru with real numbers after Arcana Time added, so I could be missing it; however, to justify calling someone lazy and not checking to see if they did do some research is . . .well . . .I'll just say, "hey Kettle"

It seems everywhere I've asked ppl tend to think EM/* is better than Elec/* Do you just like the -end more than the xtra dmg? Since you put Elec/Ea or Spines/Ea could DM/Ea be viable for its synergy?
