It's funny I was thinking the same thing. Only this level up is even crazier because it also gives you a tier 3 red, yellow, purple, orange, and breakfree. I'll actually be sad now when I level at the end of a mission rather than in the middle. -

Probably because hollows is one of the most common low level zones done, and one of the most complained about. And when you are trying to bring in new players, you don't wanna be frustrating them at level 6. -
You probably don't need to have all 8 trays out at once. The devs were probably just like, "Screw it, we'll give them so many trays that there is no way they could possibly complain."
I know I'm planning on having 4ish on most of my characters, and 5-6 on certain characters. I'll probably have trays dedicated to all the temp powers I get. -

There is no up teiring, its 3 of the same inspiration for another in the same tier. Also, you cannot make non-
standard insps like Ambrosia.

I'm looking forward to rolling one or the other. Funnily enough, I have a level 50 villain and not a level 50 hero, and that'll actually mean something now. Costumes look awesome too. Not sure what I wanna roll yet though. Depends on what my power options are. Super Bane Spider or Fortuana Mistress sounds pretty awesome.

Could be worse. I spent $40 to commission some art from this guy.
When? April of 2007. Not only have I not gotten my artwork, but in October he posted that he was not going to do the commissions after all and that he'd transfer money back to the people who paid. As of now, I still haven't gotten my money back and I even sent him a pm asking him about this.
I'm making enough money right now that I don't care enough to hound him, but it does PO me sometimes, especially since outwardly he seemed a cool enough guy. -
So during normal gameplay (or even extreme gameplay), do you actually make heavy use of both consume and transference along with stamina and all those +end and +recovery set bonuses? Or are they (especially consume) pretty much there for slotting the sets?

Regardless of anything else, Ultimus still soloed an AV version of the MM killer Calystix, which is pretty impressive. I was barely able to solo the EB version with my thugs/dark and my friend's necro/traps had to use a shivan, and even then he had to try a couple of times.

EDIT: Didn't realize it was a top 10 kind of thing. I've narrowed down my picks to the top 10 I want (in no particular order).
1. Fury does not build as intended.
I suggest giving attacks a fury bonus if they hit, similar to dom domination secondary powers.
2. Not being able to use accolades while exemping favors power gamers at the expense of casual players who got their accolades later. Let accolades be used in PvP zones regardless of what level they're earned at.
3. Brutes, tanks, and scrappers are entirely absent from high end team PvP. Consider adding resistance or protection to Cage to some of the sets that arent as good in PvP (invuln, stone, ea) and make taunt less easy to shake.
4. There arent any meaningful rewards to encourage participation in PvP. Add zone rewards that are for PvPing, not for doing PvE activities in PvP zones.
5. The difficulty of leveling and equipping toons decreases the number of people who can get involved in competitive PvP. Make a paid PvP expansion where you can auto level to 50 and get unlimited loot for a toon, but can only play in the arena and PvP zones.
6. A good PvP build can be very different from a good PvE build. Allow players to toggle between build so they can use the same toon to be good at both PvE and PvP.
7. There are no options in arena matches that arent just kill the most people on the other team. Add objective based instanced PvP like capture the flag and king of the hill.
8. Observers have trouble following the action in PvP matches. Greatly increase the flight speed of the arena bots. Consider adding an option to grant them +perception.
9. People often have to reset matches multiple times to get an acceptable map. Add selectable maps, as well as the ability to eliminate maps from the selection while still having a random pick.
10. Current level ranges are clunky, and put lower level players at a disadvantage. Allow players to set matches to a specific level and allow players to get auto skd to that level as well as auto expemlared. -
How much control do the current devs (namely Positron) have over CoH with the new management?

Personally, I'm hoping this time travel/flashback stuff will let you do exactly that. You go back in time and stop yourself from picking patron X and pick Y instead. Then, you lose your accolade badge for your old patron, and gain one for your new patron, and your arcs are considered 'completed', and you can flashback and do them if you really want to. -

EDIT:
As an explaination, I don't like how IOs encourage me to not level and not play the game. Right now, when I log in with my Rad/Sonic defender, I've got about 4 TFs I need to do... I feel like I _have_ to get those done ASAP or I'll miss out on 5% health I 'need' to have by level 37. For the longest while, I was sitting at level 30 trying to get the eye of the magus and that +10% health accolade. Rather than have fun with the game, I felt obligated to sit there and do nothing until I could hop on a team that was farming said enemies and get my accolades, especially since my character is for pvp.
In short, anything that encourages me to stop playing the game in order to get ahead is a bad mechanic and it should be changed, somehow. -

This argument has been already been de-bunked in this very thread by Back Ally Brawler himself. There was no "vote", just a "poll". The devs took the poll into consideration, but also "other factors", which where not mentioned by name.

It wasn't debunked, it was stated dual blades won the poll. All the informal player run polls to see unofficially what the general populous voted for also ended up with dual blades as the winner.
People want dual blades. I want dual blades.
Yes the fact that it was just a poll means that maybe if DB had gotten second, it might still have been picked, but in this case, it was the #1 favorite and the devs choice. Good mix. -

[/ QUOTE ] Not necessarily. What they could do is have the attack animation itself be the formation of the weapon and the attack with the weapon dissipating at the end of the animation. You could have the animations be however long you wanted in that scenario really.
It somewhat reminds me of a character from the game Xenogears, Emeralda Kasim. She'd morph her limbs/body into weapons with every attack. Her roundhouse kick would turn her foot into a sickle shaped blade, a palm strike would turn her forearm into a drill, a headbut would grow spikes out of her forehead, and you know, things like that.

You don't even have to do that. Fire Melee, for example, just summons the weapon as part of the animation, but there's no draw time, it just appears. And it doesn't disappear at the end of the attack unless you do another attack that makes you lose the sword. You can even do the attack without a target and just 'draw' the sword. Fire Melee also has 2 types of swords.
Psi Melee could be like that. -

The power sets I wanted weren't even on the polls.
-Super speed melee
-Street fighting
-Super Stretching
-Staves
All of these have way more presence with super heroes and comics than some of the options that were trotted out with that poll and that's just looking at the ones that start with 'S'.
Dual Blades won because WoW players want to port their Rogues into Stalkers. Period.

Theory- MMs in bodyguard mode with the Presence Pool.
Brutes aren't tanks any more than scrappers are. But finding a MM with the Presence Pool I fear may not be possible.

How big are Hami's aoes? You just have to be within 60 feet of your pets for bodyguard, so if the aoes are smaller than that, you could survive the aoes. Have a thermal sit near the pets and spam an aura heal or something.
