  1. comparing a toggle to a full string of defiance, or even aim/BU is simply illogical.

My redside bids were between 50-500K depending on the recipe and history. No point lowballing when I'm trying to test something TO PROVE IT TO MYSELF. I could care less about proving board posters right or wrong. You were saying something that did not agree with my personal experience, so I tested it. I would love to be proved wrong and be shown that there is an ample supply of redside leveling IOs easily accessible.

I prefer playing and leveling redside, but I really like shiny little toys for my toons. Its fun and gives me something I can look forward too. Hey, at level XX I can start slotting [shiny set] into my powers, yay! It's fun. Redside market cannot support that. The market for 50 ios is probably fine, I don't know or care. To my experience, blueside I was able to buy basic common sets easily, cheaply and quickly. Redside those same pieces were unavailable over a much greater timeframe with higher priced bids.

For the record I think most of what I bid on was Bonesnap, Pulverizing Fisticuffs, Bruising Blow and Pounding Slugfest. I didn't double check that every recipe was indeed a common (technically uncommon I guess) drop, but they were all basic stuff, I avoided quads, procs etc.

But hey, keep flaming me, it really makes you look tough and drives the point home. What point exactly that would be... I leave up to the individual reader.
well if personal experience is enough, then for SF madness on freedom this past saturday, I bought 3 lvl 37 ruin A/D/R pieces for 10k to finish frankenslotting my blaster for the event.

i know, i know, "theyre like 1 inf on blue side blah blah blah." The point of the matter is that I didnt have to play the market for what I bought, and that was all "bi it nao"

    i get it now!!!

PITA stands for Pain In The ***!!! it all makes sense to me now!!!

    thats all.
  5. when he said no one really likes, i took the word really as an attempt to soften the statement into something more like not many people like.

Its pretty obvious that this was his intent and not to use the word really as the word literally, seeing how he himself likes Khelds...

All bids were placed at (SUBJECTIVE) reasonable prices, in that if it had a consistent history (ALREADY ADRESSED) I matched it. If there were large price spikes, I placed bids reflecting the median price.

Every bid is still sitting unfilled.
I am reading a lot of failure, assuming you are even maintaining your integrity.
  8. Je, you've got it all wrong, the difference between the powers that got changed to build up and rage is that those powers require you to engage to gain their effects thus supressing stealth and making assassin's strike ineffectual.

Rage works just like BU, but longer and with a crash, the point is you can use it before assassin strike without making the enemy aware, so it does not need to change.

with your parallels broken, what do you say?
  9. oops....

    uhhhh......

Might not be able to do this one, i forgot that.....

    yeah.....

the 17th is my [true] birthday =)

I dunno what being 25 is gonna be like, its not like im gonna get special rights or anything.

my [real] birthday is the 16th, but thats just a mistake on the birth certificate.
  10. all I did was tell em they were entitled to their opinion...?
  11. Teams used to hate that, i find KB isnt complained about as much any more...

AR/Sonic was my first toon ever

then came an AR/Dark before i moved to brutes for a time.

    now en/trap

I don't seek the best of the best IO, I don't take on the toughest challenges (soloing AV, running x8 mob sizes, taking on level 54 Rikti).

For someone to say "I play only a couple hours here and there, but make 200M a week - and I'm still casual!" (paraphrasing)...well, yes, perhaps by time you are casual, but performance-wise, that's not "happening by chance" or "coming to pass without design." The results are a result of effort, and they're not typical. By the same token, I guess my use of Mids to plot every power, slot, and enhancement on the way to 50 probably isn't casual either.

Heh. Very true. But 45 mintues of a speed ITF is more involved than beating up a warehouse full of Mooks (and maybe taking 20 minutes in the middle of the mission to warm up a can of Chef Boyardee).
you warm it up? man I eat that **** like it was in the field, I dont need a bowl, the can holds it fine TYVM

how much effort does it take to click combat stealth?

OT: I dont understand the analogy, for most people a 5 mile IS jogging 30 minutes, now if you mean a 5 mile jog vs a 2.5 interval run, which is how im gonna take it for now. same thing in the end though, you are sweaty, tired and out of breath (unless you are me, then you are amped up to play some CoX)
  14. I have 4 dam/rech, hecatomb proc and ToD proc.

focused accuracy and a couple Lotg 4s take care of acc, being WP takes care of end.

A perf shifter proc could be pretty good tho, but I cant see elec ever having those kinds of end problems...

Instead of doing your contacts to gain Arachnos's favor or get an unspecified payoff, you're doing it to get their loyalty - you are planning from day one to take over, and you are bribing, beating or blackmailing people into backing you instead of Lord Recluse when it happens through the story arcs leading up to it. The patron arc has you getting into Lord Recluse's confidence through one of his lieutenants, and the final arcs would have you defeating the lieutenants and Lord Recluse himself, leaving you soundly in charge of Arachnos. There would still need to be an excuse for leaving Lord Recluse alive as a figurehead (maybe so that nobody notices the upheaval and you're free to work on your schemes while Lord Recluse catches assassins' bullets) but I would find that far more villainous and satisfying than kissing Recluse's backside from 1 to 50.
it would be awesome if they made the world changing like those games, and new players would just have a different experience than players from release.

    I'd love it.

only things that would need to remain constant is the mob levels in zones, and contacts cant actually die, a new player can go up to lord recluse and listen to him cry about having used to be on top, but you can always get content from him.

Heroes can play a role on the rogue isles too; Gearford is way more brutal than Lord Recluse was, this could cause even bigger problems for Paragon City, lets take the lesser of two evils and try to get lord recluse back into power over the Rogue Isles!

then, almost as an event, since it can only be done while LR isnt in power, you can do a TF and after it is done about 10k times (this can be adjusted) repeating it things in the RI normalize.

I mean i doubt itll ever happen, but its fun to fantasize

speed ITFs can take less than, but usually hover around, 30 minutes. so you can do 4 speed T/SFs in a 2-3 hour time frame.

being a casual gamer is an expression of time, not effort.

and yes, you can do speed runs in a pick up group.

It isn't broken. It is just very poorly supplied. It is also so low traffic it is exceedingly easy to manipulate. I know, I've done it just so I can understand it. You seem to just want to fixate on the idea that I fail at playing the market, when you really have no way of knowing one way or the other. I understand how to do it, I just don't enjoy it. My 10 year old also doesn't enjoy it, and he also doesn't enjoy waiting 3+ days for a fun little shiny thing to slot in his powers. Personally... I usually have at least a rough plan in mids so I could place bids 15 levels in advance so I have some chance of filling them... and there are times I have done exactly that.

Bottom line is, it's just not casual friendly. That pretty much describes redside. That right there is your population problem. Less casual high end content, less casual access to the market, less players... coincidence? I think not. WoW is the most casual friendly MMO ever created, and has the highest playerbase by a ridiculous margin.

Succeeding at the market redside is not tough, it simply is not enjoyable, or possible on a time window comparable to blue.

We're just going to have to accept that we want different things from the game.

EDIT: Just wanted to add, my villains are comfortable as long as I'm not trying to buy purple sets or anything, and that is resting on the inf I made previously. I hadn't played since back around the time issue 12 was announced. So issue 11 was what... 2 years ago? There's been considerable inflation since then and I'm still comfortable for casual play without having to really think about inf. Like I said, it's not tough to make inf on the market, just boring.
you dont need bids 15 levels in advance.

    LIVING TATTOO 150K ZOMG!!!!

    80 tickets, much better.

circuit boards? gotta be kidding me, Im sitting on like 10 of em because I actually make sure to pick enemies who will drop tech salvage for my newspaper missions.

When things cost alot, they sell for alot too.

I am not a marketeer, I think I hover around 35ish mil, saving up for the big stuff if im not gonna get it with merits.

I can understand where you would find the economy to be terrible if you cant see past the semi in cap.

Com made a great deal of assumptions about tokyo based on a not even one line post, when are you going to let it go and come off of it?
