Hey folks,
Thanks for the feedback so far. Regarding Hasten, I tend to avoid it unless I have a specific need for it, and I certainly haven't felt like she needs it, so I'm passing. Musculature is seeming more and more the way to go.
If anyone cares, her build is below (no laughing). Thanks again for taking the time.

Hey,
So I've got a Claws/SR/Body Scrapper I play sporadically and she's actually within sight of 50 now. It occurs to me that I have no idea what I want to do with her Alpha slot. On most characters one of the combos is an obvious benefit to enough different powers to make it a slam-dunk, but not here. Also, she doesn't seem to need Alpha to fill any glaring holes in the build (like taking Cardiac on an end-bleeder).
In that context, any thoughts on where to take her? My "punt" option would probably be Musculature Core; barring anything else, just shoehorn some +Dmg in for bigger orange numbers. I'm away from my home PC, so I don't have her build available to post, so for now this discussion would just have to be in the broadly general sense.
As ever, thanks for your time.

That was pretty neat, but in the first paragraph, are you sure you weren't looking for "neophyte?" A neonate is an infant.

Only if there are zombies, lots and lots of zombies. It's not a party until Zack shows up.

I've got one of these guys languishing in the low/mid 40s; he's been stuck there for a few years (3 or 4). I might have to trot him out, respec the rust off him, and see if I can't make a fresh go of it with him. Anticipating that I do, thanks for the inspiration.

Hey,
So I'm at work and haven't had a chance to check it out: is there an 87 month Vet Reward, or are we all now rolling over into the New Thing? If there is an 87 month reward, what is it?
The Vet Reward page that lists everything only goes as far as 78 months, so that was no help.

My hope was that they would drop the hammer on Blue Steel (aka Captain Superfluous) and make BAB the trainer in KR, but since this seems rather focused on Phalanx members, I guess not.

Quote:I've been having this same problem recently on my Brute's Lightning Rod. For me it gets complicated by the fact that most times, it takes me a second or two to even locate my cursor. This has happened to me a couple of times. It seems to only effect me on the BAF when I'm using powers like Shield Charge and Lightning Rod. I would try to target myself next to a group of enemies guarding a containment chamber. The reticule would just be red and I would be unable to use the power unless I cancel the targeting, move, and try again.

Quote:True that may be, but this guide is from I7 (summer 2006), and it doesn't look like the original author's been around for a few years, so I wouldn't hold my breath for an update. You may want to look at those numbers. If memory serves, you get Terrify at level 26, not 28.

Quote:</em_shellshock>Here's hoping this patch includes the new Turkey Assault set for Doms! Drumstick Bash, Basting Blast, Stuffing Burst - great powers all - and the best Tier 9 power of all time, Thanksgiving Turkey Drop! I hope we can customize the color of the helicopter that drops the turkeys.

For just the set itself, maybe. But the mez protection and blue-bar refill still make it fairly worthwhile for the character as a whole.

Is Azuria in Galaxy or Atlas?
EDIT: nevermind, me have brain by superadine.

Hey,
Focused Acc also has the perk of resisting -ToHit debuffs; bear that in mind if you find that sort of thing bothersome.

Quote:I've used Ion on my Elec/Elec Brute just fine; what is your "concern?"For a Ax/wp build.
For concept reasons I am leaning a little more toward Ion, but I would like to hear from another brute that says it works for them. I am a little "concerned" about the chained-aoe thing as opposed to a straight pbaoe.
Thanks
That said, either one is tasty; the -Dmg debuff from Void makes it harder for any survivors to retaliate.

I am intrigued by your DKTF, and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
Dechs, if you do make the move to Freedom, I have a few alts there, including the DM/DA you've been helping me salvage.I'd join a DKTF in a hot second.

Heya folks,
So I've got a new character concept kicking around in my brain, a Stone Melee Brute. I got the idea in my head to try a sort of "prismatic" effect, in the sense that each of the SM powers would be colored slightly differently, with the net result that the crystals she's beating on the enemies with would look to be shifting colors.
I figure it could look kinda cool if I pull it off right, of course, the flip side to that coin is that a botch job could look hideous. Has anyone made something like that work? If so, I'd love to hear about it.
Thanks for your time.

Quote:No I didn't, but you gave us "folks who want unlockable stuff want to be envied." I'm on the okay-with-unlockables side of this one.Did you say:
"One of the cool things about it is that not everyone has one."
"Maybe someday you'll be able to buy a nictus shield and broadsword with cash or reward points or whatever. I kind of hope not. But until that day comes, I'll feel cool walking around with mine on display, and I'll feel cool every time I draw my rularuu katana."
Then I wasn't talking about you.
Which means you were talking about me. Incorrectly.

Hello,
Steelclaw, I have sat here from afar and several times, I have thought two thoughts about your Tournament, often just about simultaneously:
1) good on him
2) yikes
Point 2 is mainly about the number of times you've had to reset the tournament, deleting everyone in the process. If I may ask, what's the minimum number of characters needed for a round of the Tournament, and would it be possible to break characters out into "seasons?" A new update hits, a new flight of characters start a new season of the Tournament.
I realize it might make apples-to-apples scoring comparisons harder, but it might also let you keep anyone you actually like enough to keep.
Have a good one.

Doesn't seem terribly random to me (defeat Nictus AV, get Nictus-themed unlock). Nor does it strike me as terribly exclusive, beyond the fact that you have to do the ITF to get it.
You want broad creation options at the outset, and that's fine, I want that too. But I am also very okay with some things being unlocked through in-game achievement.

Hey,
If I do this, it's not in my nature to take a hero char all the way to villain and back just for the Patron Pool. In my previous run of an Elec char (I took an Elec^2 Dom into his 20s before my interest in him stalled), I was getting good-enough results sapping with Conductive Aura that it wouldn't be worth going against my normal inclinations.
Salty, that frankenslotted JC does look tasty! If I was to get this guy rolling, I might have to replace the purple & pvp pieces (I'm thinking Energy Manip stun proc for one, I'll think of another).
