Does this mean, 100%, ice armor/ice melee will go to brutes, scrappers,a nd stalkers? broadsword, katana, regen, SR and ninjitsu will go to tankers?
Is there ANY taboos? (I ask more about balance issues).
I know about balance concerns, eg. energy melee for scrappers, kin and empathy for masterminds, etc.
But does that mean:
1. It wont happen
2. It will happen
3. It will happen, with massive changes
4. We have no clue on the above sets
Any chance to add the faq what is planned to be ported, or what is NOT planned to be ported?

Now that we know what we will have in I12, Im hoping the devs/marketting/whoever, will release which powersets will NOT be available to which AT's.
I assume (tank):
regen
SR
EA
Will be unavailable, which means elec/ and ninjitsu 'may' be available at a later date ....
Some of us like to play specific power sets to AT's. For example, if SR never goes tank, I'm making an /SR brute.
If regen is coming to brutes, not tanks, I'd prefer to make a /regen brute later, than a /regen scrapper now (and instead play another powerset, and make a controller instead ...)
So many combinations, knowing what we WONT get will help some of us figure what to play now. -
Talking about invasion badges...
I got mine for UXB, no problem.
Got mine for rikti soldiers.
I have seen ZERO heavy assault suites.
Anyone else have that problem? -

I would be surprised if many Fire/Ice tanks had GIS or IS just because of the perception that Fiery Aura needs Tough and Weave combined with the less then great DPA of both swords. What this boils down to is that the Secondary has been taken for 3 powers!

Fire/ice here, and yes, I took my single target attacks. Most fire/ice tanks I have inspected (guardian) have both.
Bosses are a problem, not minions. -

I like comics that are comics and realistic, not some cheap game copy. Where is statesman and his hostess cupcakes and kung fu grip?
The first coh series conflicted with the game definitions (like peacebringers and their true form, etc).
Sad part was, the stories had potential. If you treated it like an epic comic, instead of a cheap game tie-in, it would have been good.
I would have loved to see a serious rikti war prelude graphic novel. But they would probably say 'I need inspirations', or 'Im dead, anyone have a rez inspiration?', 'I only have training TO's', "will you PL meh?!?!', or 'oh good, I got a debt badge!'

I did try other mmorg. Did it after the first great nerfing, killed my fun.
Tried world of wonder (cough, cough). Nice game stability. character options (costumes) were very limited. joined the game and .... holy clones batman!!! who am I in this crowd again?
After wiping out enough bats and rats to open a burger shop, I quit. Not heroic. No individuality. was bored.
Tried again. Got sick of the coh crashes (maybe once per session, lag, dc, etc). Tried lord of the ringu (double cough). minor character customization, but tolerable. first mission was great. go to a town. crash. log back in. crash 15 min later. run off kill wolves and some scouts (at least I feel more heroic than before in world). come to town. crash. Figured it out. whenever there is many people in one spot, I crash.
In hindsight. The occasional DC from a hami raid is much much more tolerable after that.
In cox I get:
Character customization
Hero (why Im here, not into generic fantasy, wish it was mores uper hero, but its better than rats/bats)
mentor system
travel powers!
much greater power customization
(tank AT has ONLY 4 primaries, but the others are stuck on 1).
AT flavor
bad:
some bad lag
some crashes -
compared to the lord of the ringu crash, cox comes out MUCH better.

So, the fish out of water was the toughest?
In COV, we could not bring mako down. In the STF we did.
We had 2 controllers and an ice blaster. I wonder if the key is to hold him before he super mogs?
(It appeared you had enough controller debuffs).
I think mako mog will make/break the STF (did you go out, stock up on yellows and pop them when he mog?). He didnt mog on us, so he wasnt that much of a problem. -

3% defense stacked is ridiculously powerful. Let's keep in mind that Invul has 5 powers that it keeps on pretty much at all times (RPD, REn, REl, TI, Un). Assuming the added power enhancers stack to 5 if not unique that would give Invul 15% extra defense.
That's just stupidly overpowered. That allows an Invul tanker to be at 28% defense with ONE enemy in range and potentially at 49% defense around 10 enemies.
The 3% defense APE (Added Power Enhancer) wouldn't be overpowered for most characters who only have one or two resist passives/toggles. But in the hands of a class that can stack them, it's crazy. That's why it's unique.
7.5% recharge only stacks to 37.5% which very few set combinations could do and even then that's only a bit more than half of Hasten.

Partially agree.
For PvE, I do agree with you. 3x5=15% is a huge number, esp to an invul tanker.
But if they can cut off most sets bonus stacking to 5, why cant they make 3% def at 2 or 3 maximum?
For PvP, as a defense set, it gets worse. In defense there is a unique 12.5% to hit bonus (that is HUGE). To counter it, I can get a +3% def bonus? Set bonus from defense is a joke, you need multiple types to get good coverage.
This is like using maneuvers to offset tactics (fine for pve balancing, but in pvp, defense sets get screwed).
Honestly, I was hoping to use the +3 def bonus on my fire tank more than my invul.
And its sad, but why no +res (all). 6% (even unique) would help the pathetic invul passives.
Now, the +psi resists got chopped. I only have 3 armors on my invul (rpd, ti, uny), and dont see the benefit (I can use those slots, and get more health and/or recovery, which is of greater use to a tank). -
So we can slot Numina's Convalescence: Regeneration/Recovery into Rest?
Or is this mastermind only?

Im confused on this. From my understanding, any IO's slotted into a toggle power are ONLY active when the toggle is active.
Rest is a toggle. Thus, any IO in rest will only be active when you activate rest (for obvious reason, end and health boosts are kinda useless). -

With all due respect _Castle_, Rage has worked like this for nearly 2 years now, why the heck does it have to be 'fixed' after all this time?
Stacking Rage to avoid the end crash is a penality in of itself, since you experience the def debuff/no external action period more often.

Its narrow vision. I want it to do 'A'. If it does anything else but 'A', its wrong and your exploiting. For the record: You can exploit dev bad programming, yes.
Rage is an awesome power, but 10 seconds of inactivity (nuisance), -25 end (um ouch on the blue) AND -20 defence is a horrid penalty.
And SS was balanced to rage. without rage, SS sucks. Better to go stone/ or axe/
If I can sometimes (double rage doesnt always work, but enough) get no drop by adding ANOTHER pool power (hasten, as super speed is usually not a travel power of choice), unless you ahve a pocket kinetic. I only do this on my brute (my tanker is 50, so I dropped hasten for concept, got LBE), as my brute has horrible endurance problems (I even went 3 dam/3 end red. Helps some). I feel SS as some strange bug on it.
It wasnt always like this. Hit me around lvl 35-36 after some update (forgot which).
besides I worry with all the other bugs, fury problems in pvp, citadels TF producing uber high warwolves, etc. Somehow, this will become a priority.

Castle, could you look at SS endurance bug. I have an ss brute and ss tank, same powers.
The ss brute (with same slotting) can not sustain the same amount of attacks. Its almost unplayable. Compared to all my other brutes/scrappers/tanks, only ss on brute side seems to have a -rec power to self.
Can you look at that instead?
and oh, fix the brute pvp fury bug too. thx -

AI critters have always 'cut and run' if they consider themselves unable to win an encounter. The behavior you describe is consistent with that condition.
It is not impossible that the AI is flipping to 'run away' mode too easily for some reason. Reading Aett_Thorns post, it does not sound like this is the case, but if you can get some solid data to back it up it'd definitely be worth looking into.

castle, if your trying to make the AI more human like, think about this. Your a minion (got a nice bonus) in evil organization X. These heroes charge in, beat your boss (who could crush your skull in 2 seconds) to a bloody pulp with axes, fire and radiation (*cough, arrest, cough*), and you will still fight them?
why wait? Run like the PPD of old! Run OUT of the building.
But with so many defeat all missions, this realistic behavior isnt fun. Just a thought. -
I thought about bodyguard before, but I thought of it like this.
If any baddie targets the tank with an aoe, there is no aoe (only a direct attack to the tank).
A good reason for us to do our jobs, and protect the team. -
This is why I have stuck with EB's.
The few AV's I have fought, I really thought it was the aoe's hurting the team. Noticed it today on jack in irons. A poor lvl 50 controller was getting slammed screaming for me to taunt jack. I hit jack with everything, but ...
Looks like I have to respec in 'taunt', to not be a team liability.
If AV's are too smart to fall to punch-voke aka guantlet, does that mean they are stupid enough to fall for bad 'your momma' jokes from taunt?
more dev logic. Remember when posi was saying how he wanted to listen to the players more, and this was after he screwed the badge hunters for isolater for having a single minion spawn once every 2 hours or so (this is dev mentality of listening to your player base).
And I still want to hear castle tell us how uber fire tanks are!

To both individuals who responded to my tanker vs scrapper damage, thank you. I agree with what your saying.
To my poor prison, um, female dog blaster friend, condolences.
The only teams I have ever felt needed or wanterd were blaster teams. 50% of my PUGs have been 3-5 blasters on a team (maybe a controller or scrapper).
Sadly, I think the tanker AT is here to protect the blaster AT. I notice though, strangely, most blasters do much better at PvP with their AT, than in PvE. sad (to me).
Honestly, to me, the blaster is the only AT who can gripe more than tanks. 'Range is your defense' -- what idiot came up with that.
I have a lvl 28 en/dev blaster, who cant seem to get out of debt, so I do understand.
Strange, on the forums heal/hurt the AT's, the last 2 were tanks and blasters, the 2 who seemed to be illegitimate children of coh.
But I will say this, on all the teams I have been on, its the blasters with the best sense of humor (must come from all the face plants).

If you want the dev's to read the tanker board, you need a post like:
1. I beat 4 minions, me uber
2. Tanks are fun
3. States is right, coh is just like my gameboy!
4. I can herd entire maps
5. I can solo +7 mobs
6. I'm having fun in this game!
See, if you say something they dont like, they will read it and nerf it.
We need to start a new topic, like 'gauntlet and aggro auras not working on AVs is fun!'
Then everyone lie and say how fun it is. They will read it and nerf it.
I'm thinking of making a 'burn's fear effect is fun!', then there is a chance they will read it, and nerf the fear, since its fun.
btw, I'd LOVE to understand why scrappers get damage is at 1.125, while tanks are stuck at .8, yet for defenses, they are .8 to our 1. -

Can you pinpoint where it said the 5th will return?
I imagine praetorians, rikti, DE, council, nemesis, or banished pantheon will be the baddies (my guess is in that order).
See, the villains and heroes need to band together. Those groups oppose arachnos and heroes. The 5th will have it in for the council, but thats it.
Someone once suggested a moonbase arc, where the 5th still reside (that would be KEWL!!!! ) <-- posi, implement this
I do believe someone mentioned a rescue hero1 from rikti homeworld, so my money would be rikti or praetorian (noticed how they faded away, then several contests about praetorians showed up?). -

Yes, I remember you found the bug. Sadly, I expected teh bug to get fixed, even if invincibility was 'good as it is', and thus be a nerf. *sigh* such is life.
Not excusing their QA. I just feel the devs feel test server is their 'free QA', along with the players on the boards.
My biggest problem (back to unyielding) is the ever changing answers. I remember a brute asked why do we have 5% penalty, if we have less resistances? dev answer was, working as expected.
burn with fear, yet it did have fear before, was removed, because it wastn fun, now its fun with fear, while other damage auras, and that monster with a battle axe, do NOT cause fear ...
As for running a business, sadly, this is the ONLY hero (didnt say super) MMO (for now). I left, tried wow (bored of clone characters and hunting rats), tried another, and do you know why I came back?

Didnt castle or states say there QA is about 1 year old?
Yes, bad excuse for bad code.
I work in the diag department of a major company. To have that level of QA is unforgivable, and would get me fired. Sadly, test server exists to use the players as free QA.
From all the bugs players caught (invincibility pulsing twice) as opposed to states himself stating it was fine, I cant trust them on the bug lists/fixes.
If I was in charge, after a massive whipping, I'd make them take some software engineering classes, proper code check-in (cvs/whatever), and huge arch specs.
For some reason, I see massive spagetti code in C, rushed for the almighty dollar, not for quality or continued maintenance.

3. could you make BU a buff for all attacks (20 seconds), instead of just fire? That would be a nice buff, not overpowering, and make fire a more offensive tank set for all, not just the fire/fire crowd.
Questions I have, answer if you wish:
why is /ice only affect 5, as opposed to 10? some of us ice/ice wouldnt mind the buff, as we are low damage ( I knew /ice was low damage, but good control. The 5 limit doesnt help as much on large teams, but Im uber for solo play (on taking damage).
/ice could use some help either in damage or in control.

i think that will go a long way to help make fire a more offensive set, as opposed best for fire/fire.
Overall, on my behalf and on many tankers, thank you for talking to us. Yes, many of us may disagree with you, but just posting on this board is a certain amount of respect saying "I acknowledge you, but I disagree'. That goes a long way, at least for me.
