    Technically, it shouldnt be 100%. All aoe's (cone, pboe, aoe) use a different formula from single attack. For a single attack having a base recharge of 10s, you are correct. For cones, they have a different formula, using the max # hit and size of the aoe. Unless aura's are using the single hit rule.

    It is a pain to follow and guess how these work, esp when they get changed (the rules) all the time.

    Do you need to hit to have it proc? This sounds stupid, but the proc is 100% in burn, even with no enemies (its a pet, so that makes sense). So, my question is, since aura is active, does it roll % to activate, or only roll if it hits something?
  4. Could be. My fire/ice tank has it in burn, its 100% (1 stack) each application.

    I like to see how others view it in a similar (e.g. 8 second recharge) power
  5. tested a few times.
    on my invul/ss, superior version (should proc every 10 seconds), in haymaker, after 20 minutes of play:
    1 triple stack (didnt last long)
    3 double stack
    rest single stack
    LOTS of no stack (attack hits, nothing)


    Tried again on my dark/dark tank. Lots of no stacking.

    I'm currently in the process of moving (currently in search mode, apartment wise), otherwise I'd check this out in a more direct manner and report here. Did the gauntlet bug creep back in (again)?

    anyone else notice this? I looked at the description, no change.
  6. I used presence pool and stacked it with my dark/dark tank. cloak of fear + presence pool = locked down bosses. I skipped taunt to fit them in, and yes, I miss my autohit.

    My electric tank, I slotted for endurance mod, and drain the blue away, mitigation by unable to use any big attacks.

    So, your not the only one. But I ALWAYS take my status protection.

  9. Just putting out what I found out recently (sadly, post respec).

    My shield tanker has 3 membranes in Active Defense. Even though you couldnt slot defense IO's, only recharge, Active Defense benefitted from defense (via membranes) by increasing its defense debuff resistance.

    with those lovely unslotters, I can pull them out, back in, etc. I tested with them, and without them (using only 3 recharge SO's). While there is a period of overlap with membranes and SO's (and the defense debuff resistance will add twice during the overlap period), the defense debuff resistance value no longer changes (membrane vs SO).


    Just thought I'd share this with anyone else who put in membranes in active defense (I plan on yanking them out and moving 1 slot elsewhere).


    Edit: oh, mids shows the old functionality as still working, fyi.

    Oh, if I get rularuu costume and a liger and bee power, can I have a liger, the size of rularuu who shoots bees from his mouth? If so, can I custom color each bee, so I can say 'FEEL THE RAINBOW' after each attack?

  11. recent HO bug fixes were things like defence debuff actually adding defense buff values, if they could be slotted. likewise damage <--> resistance were interchangeable before.

    Mids has missed things before, but more hoping/wondering if someone actually tried.

  12. I know quite a few powers, mindlink, vengeance, where any +recharge of an IO will affect the power, though it wont take recharge IO's itself.

    Storm kick doesnt take def IO's or sets, but if I use an HO with a +def component, would it work?

    Elec brute?

    Perhaps I missed something, you posted tanker builds, in a tanker forum. I shall be forgiving of that error, for now ...

    Short answer: play to your strengths, within reason. Endurance drain, you should should maximize. Then I'd go SL defense, then fire/cold (lots of cold damage in DA)
  15. Its hard to tell what you want, looking at the builds.
    4 slotted aegis, gives 2.5% debt protection.
    You have 4 slotted mako's (I assume for the 3% damage buff?), but you leave your superior tank IO 6 slotted (if you broke it up to 4/2 slotting, you would get 2 4% damage buffs)

    While reactive does give +1.25% SL defense for 4 slotting, as an electric tank with capped energy resists, it doesnt help you much.

    You took conserve power and physical perfection (slotted with end mod IO's), but your ELECTRIC! You have power sink (heck, even energize), you shouldnt ever need those powers.

    If you want a hero APP, think fire. nothing says love like a fireball to the face.

    The other advantage electric has, is endurance drain. They cant use big hitters when they are drained.

    power sink should be maxed out on endurance mod, recharge. one build did, one build didnt do that.
    Lightning field can keep them from recovering endurance. Accuracy, end mod first, then damage, then endurance reduction (you can always use power sink if you get low).

    drained enemies cant use heavy hitting attacks. power sink will make them useless, and lightning field will keep them useless.

    Some builds are insane on recharge. Recharge is always fun and good, but, defensive wise, it only helps energize. Most of your attacks are at 1.6seconds. If that was true, you'd only need 1 attack (animation time).

    you also used 6 slotted oblit, which gives 3.75 MELEE defense. Your better off with getting SL defense

    impervium only helps you if you 6 slot it for extra psi resist. you dont need the +end, your an electric tank.

    kin combat is a great set, but instead of adding a DER, you should add an ADR (the accuracy is low)

    I changed the middle posting, gave you more fire/cold defense (cold shows up a lot in DA), still have good psi resists, and gave you some extra accuracy bonuses (and damage bonuses)

    I added assault/tactics, but you can add TP friend, stealth, whatever you wish.
    I did this, because, it appeared you wanted more +dam, and the +to hit always helps.
    Again, your electric, so you shouldnt have major endurance problems (also, energize is up about 2/3 of the time, which is like a free conserve power, 2/3 of the time ;-)

    This modified builds gives:
    DEF SL: 37%, fire/cold: 30.8%, energy/neg/psi: 18.3%
    RES SL: 85%, F/C: 62%, E:90%, neg:47%, psi: 78%

    57.5% +recharge, +18% accuracy, +13% to hit, +18.5% damage

    Fixed an issue with Tanker single-target powers where their proc chance for PPM enhancements was erroneously being penalized for Gauntlet's AoE. Tanker attack powers should now have the same proc chance on PPM enhancements as other Archtypes' versions of those powers.

    Plus, you can now slot in aura damage powers

    Not always. The paragon points purchasable T9 costumes, you cant see in costume editor. Phoenix tail? Had to google for it. Plus, it is nice to see the whole set and not waste time, on gloves, ok, what kind of helmets, ohhh, what about a belt ...

  20. Ok, the problem with windfall, is, I have no idea what it does. I've tried it a few times, and I dont see any significant difference in drops. Just bad luck? Is it because im on a team, so it increases for everyone, and the drops are random between team members?
    Should I only use it solo?? I can read the description, but the team setting makes me wonder.

    Also, 'experience', which is supposed to increase xp by 25%. If I Have patrol xp, does it help? Or like double xp weekend, it means nothing. I know there is a power that gives you 5 bars of patrol xp, and they are mutually exclusive of each other.

    Speaking of 2x XP weekend, would that affect the iXP in dark astoria or any trials? I'd like to know how to spend my time.

    The Leprechaun pet, how much influence does it increase? I dont want to buy it to find out.

    Why does paragon store suck so much? If I've bought 1 of 10 salvage increases, and come back later, it still shows up. If I put 1/10 salvage increase in my cart and try to buy it, it wont let me, but it does NOT tell me which item is the offending item.
    Costume items, there is NO link or other way to preview the costumes. Even the paragon rewards fire/ice, required too much effort to simply browse at what it is.

    Ok, the last is a rant, unless I'm missing some easy, fundamental way to preview costumes or some setting to hide previously purchased goods?

    First, I agree with the other posters. You cant complain about being bored and tanking 10 GM's (its too easy).

    2nd, why defense? If you want a tougher stoner, look at your weakness:
    1. psi
    2. -recharge

    I've been single shotted by psi babbage (he does damage in 3 pulses, I got hit by each) for 2400hp (I only had 2200 at the time). You can get up to 18% psi resistance through single IO's. More if you 6 slot imperviums (maybe 36%? I'm not doing mids for this).
    Positional defense can help, esp range/aoe, in lieu of psi defense (which tends to be paltry and not readily available).

    The other option is to increase your recharge, especially for earths embrace. If my EE was up, babbage wouldnt have taken my stoner down on the alpha. I ws impatient and should have chugged purples/oranges before I went in.
    The other related option is +regen (your regen isnt a weakness, just adding to a strength). My stone has a regen of about 42 hp/sec (with rooted). Through that in with def/resists, and wow.


    Tougher can be done, but, for me, the biggest problem with stone tanks, they are BORING solo (I hate rooted, I dont want to solo in granite, so you either play with rooted and cant jump or barely run, or run around with no mezz protection ...).

    Proc is bugged. I've posted on several ATO forums on it.
    The bug is as you see. I assume gauntlet (pboe taunt effect from single target attacks) is affecting the code, making it into an aoe, ergo, wont proc on time.

    I put it in total focus, and by synapse and arbiter hawk, it should proc every time (base recharge 20s). It doesnt. It also seems to get worse in small groups, which fits the weird aoe formula.
