  1. As a toon that has incandenscence I use it for the debuffs, more than the buffs. It has a massive AoE stun and knockback which effectively disrupts a mobs so completely that it renders them useless for a good long while. As a secondary advantage, it does pull the team together, and thirdly it offers buffs suited for a recovery after a team wipes/almost wipes since it also creates a short term safe zone... This is the sort of power that was intended be used as a recovery tool when the team is scattered and overwhelmed. However, some like to use it offensively (similarly to Howling Twilight), which works too. Sure being moved around involuntarily can be annoying, but that's why they built the prompt for teleport. As a melee toon, I don't like things being knocked back from me either, but it is part of the game, and it's not going away. So sure it's not ideal, but it's no game breaker either.

    I've not done any staff toons, but I have quite a few DAs.

    OG's HP cost is trivial, so don't concern yourself with it. On it's own it will keep all melee minions out of the fight so long as they don't stagger too far away and shake it off. An AoE immob goes a long way if you can get one off at the right time.

    As far as pairing goes, I found my EM/DA stalker pretty amazingly effective since EM will almost always disorient as a secondary. I could easily keep LTs out of the fight, and also keep bosses stunned a good deal of the time. I suppose the mileage you get out of OG depends on the purpose of your toon.

  4. Great! I'd love to hear why I would swap them out. I believed Numina would be better, simply for the extra regen and max HP bonuses on 3 pieces, and as a full set for the def buff. Panacea I took for similar reasons, extra regen, max hp, recovery bonus, heal bonus (6%) and recharge rate incr (7.5%), along with a proc for both a small heal and end boost, vs Doctored wounds which does have a recharge time boost (5%), and heal (4%), however the other bonuses: 2.2 resist to terrorize, and 1.26 resist to fire/cold/psi/toxic seem rather useless. Granted, a set of Doctored Wounds will run me far less than a full set of Panacea...

    Hmmm, I have lots of defense, soft capped s/l; and positional melee with a single application of parry. I also have perma dull pain putting him at 3166hp and 106 hp/sec regen rate, and that's before IH. I also have plenty of recharge in my attack chain with my hardest hitting attack back every 5 secs. Anything else I should be concerned with? I know I'm a bit low on ranged defense against energy/neg nrg, fire/cold, and Psi but a good deal of those attacks have a smashing or lethal component, so I should avoid most of those attacks at range, since it takes into account my highest applicable defense value, and once again, melee at 59%+ most of the time will protect against almost all but the worst cascading defense failure.

    So really, I can only see ranged or AoE pure nrg/neg nrg, fire/cold, and psi attacks getting through, and I suppose unless there is a ton of it to overwhelm my regen rate I should be pretty durable.

    Thoughts?

  7. I'm experiencing this as well. About 1 of of 3 mission exits (including having to go to the hospital) causes the game to crash.

    I've verified my vid card drivers, and have the latest versions. Everything seems up to speed...
  8. I'm getting the blue screen of death now with catalyst 11.11. Tried to roll back to 11.4 and it also gave me the same thing. System seems stable, but when running the game it's pretty much guaranteed to crash within the hour.
    I'm running on a Windows 7 64 bit platform, with 2x Radeon HD6950s crossfired. Tried removing one of the cards and running in single card mode, but that didn't resolve the issue. I had no issues until the patch on Tuesday. Is anyone else running into this issue?

  10. I had this bug happen to me last night. On the second time around though, the cutscene was just a series of close shot stills of the ads you see around the rogue/isles paragon. Also, there were 2 Proteans! One acted normally and was scaled correctly to the mission, but the other was +2 lvls, was standing at the console, and completely ignored me. Even when I attacked him after defeating the first Protean, he refused to fight. He also seemed invulnerable. Sorry, I was soloing him, and the place was blowing up around me, so I'm not sure if I was not doing enough damage to hurt him, and I was in a rush to leave.

    The follow up 'talk to leonard' mission was bugged, in that he wouldn't speak to me. I auto-completed it.

    The bank mission had the bank teller ignoring me as well (yes, the one in the lobby). So I gave up and logged out for the night.

    Today I'll need to petition this to get it cleared, but yeah serious pain in the a$$.

    I believe that's the case. It's not a stealth power per say, but mimics the Spectral's Ethereal phasing. Since he is essentially a huge Spectral Daemon this makes a ton of sense.

  13. I would love this option to be added! There's so many great panaramic environments in CoX with Ultra mode enabled. It's more of a crime to NOT have this support
  14. Just to put it out there: Has anyone noticed a performance shift when crossfiring cards?

    I have 2 x 6950s in Crossfire on my main machine now. I was thinking I'll swap one out to another machine I'm in the process of building if CoX doesn't make use of the extra card, since the old machine won't be used for anything other than CoX and a bit of SC2.
  15. So Fitness pool is out, and CJ in as a back up to Indomitable Will. With all the toggles running I can't see enough END to fight with... SS, SJ, IW, Stealth, Mind over Body, Heightened Senses, Tactics, and Assault (with occasional CJ).

    Thoughts?

    Is combat jumping all that important? Or is it just a stepping stone to SJ?

    For damage mitigation, would you say that resist is more or less important than defense, or should I be striving for a balance between the two?
  17. Hey all!

    I'm a very old school PvEer and I'm looking to jump into some PvP. So far, all of my traditionally successful toons have been eaten alive in the PvP zones. Obviously practice will improve things, but I can't help but think that the build has an equally important impact. I've opted to go with a stalker to start since it seems to be a naturally adept PvP style toon... Elec/WP seems to be a popular choice according to what I've read on the boards so I've picked those.

    I've put together a MiDs build, but I'm not sure if the focus is right or not. Primarily I've put in lots of recharge, some range with sharks, and procs if at all possible. I also took a couple of travels, and an escape power (hibernate). If possible I avoided multi target attacks, since this build will not be used for PvE.

    I've posted it below for you all to look at. Any help would be much appreciated.
