It does look like a routing issue with your ISP and their peering partners...

You can raise a ticket with NCsoft Support and tell them about your problem and then they will be able to get in touch with your ISP/routing partners to help resolve the problem.

This can happen when a glitch crops up outside of their network (sometimes a faulty piece of hardware, bad software config etc etc), and actually getting a "big name" on their tail helps them move faster to resolve it.

((I have seen an ISP suffer a partial nationwide outage, and then when they came back up, those who suffered the outage couldnt connect to sites hosted in Germany, whilst those who had no downtime didnt have the problem))

What server are you having problems with?

Who is your ISP? are other users with the same ISP having issues (or even different ISP, similar geographical area) having issues?

So, not the problem I posted thinking. But still very much a problem.
Well, the other way in which they can display the price on the reciept is as an overall "discount" on the package... so show the proper price of each item and then at the end show how much of a discount you actually get.

Side note: It also doesnt help in that the market could well be set up to ignore all decimals for price points...

Although i *did* pay for Controllers and Masterminds

Via the City of Heroes boxset and the City of Villains boxset..

Of course now they are pretty much redundant as they have been superceeded by the Going Rogue Complete edition

Loyalist Program Closed Beta testing on the Training Room for Issue 18/Going Rogue started on July 26, 2010.

Going Rogue pre-purchase Closed Beta access for Issue 18/Going Rogue was opened on August 10, 2010.

Issue 18 was released to the Live Servers on August 16, 2010.

Going Rogue was released to the Live Servers on August 16, 2010, for pre-purchasers, and officially launched August 17, 2010.
So if you pre-bought previous to April 2nd, you would have been acting on incomplete information.. and maybe even feature sets that would have been cut for any reason.

Note: If you pre bought Going Rogue *BEFORE* the PAX annoucement (end of March) then more fool you to be honest, because there was *no* official announcement either here or there that i can find that stated that Incarnates were going to be included with Going Rogue....

Those are the required starting points for "intuitively" working together, and both are missing in Keyes.
The only part i didnt know how to do on the 1st run of the Keyes trial was once you had taken down the 3 reactors, so yes, i did need that part explaining to myself. It actually took me longer to set up a macro key for me than it was for the explanation of what to do was given to me.

Face it, if all the trials were meant to be "pick up and play" then it would be "steam roller" along the lines of the ITF/LGTF (although to be honest, even the Hamidon has its own gimmicks that could possibly need explaining as well)

Hell, even the Lord Recluse Strike Force has a few gimmicks that ideally you need to explain to people at the start of the last mission, but only if they hadnt done it previously...

*shrugs* each to their own, but if all the game was reduced to was "sack of HP" I would be out of here... and yes, i have left the game previously just for that reason alone (as well as the lack of End Game pre Issue 19)

I consider a video of Positron stating at PAX that Going Rogue included the first tier of Incarnate access (which I linked earlier) fairly conclusive proof.

People seem to forget that Going Rogue was on Pre purchase way before it was in stores and it was advertised as including the Incarnate access. Removing it during beta does not negate the fact that by that point they had already sold it with that feature. And it was obviously clearly intended as a Going Rogue feature as they required you to buy GR in order to access Incarnate content.

My contention is therefore that the Alpha slot is clearly part of GR any further Incarnate content was simply the next issue. I have no problem with whatever Paragon want to include as free with the game. i do have a problem with revisionist history being enforced by the blinkered rabid anti-f2p crowd that seems to be building on these forums.
I want to be on your side sooo much, i really do.

But i just cannot find *any* information from the InternetArchive which actually states that Incarnate Content was part of Going Rogue...

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=375 (contains archive link of Going Rogue Site from 5th May 2010)

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=398 (contains archive link of Going Rogue Site from 2nd April 2010)

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=403 (contains archive link of Going Rogue Site from 23rd March 2010)

The 1st two links are dated after the PAX video that you linked to, so I find it *incredibly* strange in that an "official" announcement was made, and yet the website didnt add Incarnate Content to the Features List of Going Rogue....

I personally feel that "sneak peaks" are never meant to be "official" anyway, and that stuff can change between the "sneak peak" and the "official release" of the feature... it has happened, and indeed actually happened with the Alpha Slot of all things (in that it wasn't actually included with I18, and only came with I19 due to beta testing feedback)

Trust me, i really do want to believe that Incarnate Content was meant to be fully included with Going Rogue, but even on their initial announcement page they made no mention of it... they mentioned Praetoria, Side Switching, Dual Pistols/Demon Summoning Powers but *no* mention of Incarnates... if it was meant to be a part of Going Rogue, you would think they would have actually mentioned it on the "Features" list of Going Rogue. It was only in July when Positron said that the "Sneak peek" of Incarnates would be pulled from I18 (Going Rogue Issue Number).

As i said, i *really* would love at least *some* form of incarnate content to be released to Premium/Free players (the 1st 2 tiers of Alpha Slot, what eventually was released initially with the "Sneak Peek" of Incarnates)

But saying (or at least inferring) that the whole Incarnate System should be included for free... well lets just say that there would be no point in subscribing back to the game for those who bought Going Rogue...

The character slot cost is actually cheaper than the other superhero MMO... even if you buy the CoX slots one at a time....

The one thing that makes Guild Wars very very different to other games is that once you hit the cap you can change all of the skills that you have, and you can even change your 2ndary as well, so if they didnt have infinate respecs, it would be a very different game. Not to mention as well that you need to be able to swap skills in and out according to the mission/PvP match that you are going for... so once again unlimited respecs are the "sensible" way to go.

CoX though has 3 builds though, so once you know how game/class works, you can tweak it accordingly (Mids Hero Builder helps a great deal as well... although it isnt Issue 21 ready, it is still good for everything pre I21 wise)

If playing exclusively on the test server was actually viable and granted me unlimited respecs, I would be there. No doubt about it.
I don't think playing exclusively on the test server is much viable, though.

I'm also going to take a look into how hard/easy it's to come up with 150M influence in the almost 7 weeks until my time card runs out. I'm still not sure it will be enough to keep me playing, but depending on how much time farming that much money can take, I might reconsider.
Running your tip missions to get hero merit ery two days, you *should* get enough influence to make 150mill just by selling/crafting the recepies you get every 2 days. I play for a few hours a week and whilst i am still trying to complete of my characters build, I still make enough Inf to buy a respec recepie if i needed to (on the flip side, i still have 6 respecs to use up before i even need to do a respec trial/buy the recepie)

The part about preparation might be interesting for the devs to take into account for the new F2P business model. Plenty of players should be coming on impulse, with no preparation whatsoever. Adding something in the game's page, or even inside the game, to guide new players towards good builds might be a good idea.
The forums are a good place to ask for/look for builds, the main thing though is what your playstyle is, there is no "best build"... but at least the dual/triple builds allows you to have 3 forms on the run at the same time (i personally tend to level up to 50 on my 1st build, then use the 2nd build as a "final build" and the 3rd build as a "test build"... you do need to slot each build seperately though)

    Quote:
After all, making it easier for players to end up with a workable character is something most MMOs do nowadays.
I am not a build "expert", infact i am quite a way apart from that... but what i would like is an easier method of changing just one or two powers and not having to start from scratch each time i want to change a power out (especially for APP/PPP)... and dont forget that Incarnate powers can also seriously enhance/cover gaps of your build (at least those ones are fairly easy to swap around once you have unlocked and crafted the powers you want... you are not stuck to one Alpha/Lore/Destiny/Interface/judgement slot, you can swap them around outside of missions every 10 minutes

    Quote:
What I wanted is just to provide feedback. Tell the developers why I'm not sticking with the game, even though I mostly like it. They can take the feedback any way they want.

I agree with you that, the way the game currently works, too easy respecs could be problematic, since they allow players to basically unslot and rearrange their enhancements. Free, unlimited respecs would have the same result as enhancements not being locked anymore when used. Which is exactly why I posted it here, and not on the suggestions forum; unless the devs already have some bigger change planned for the way enhancements work, I don't really expect easier respecs to be implemented in the lifetime of this game.

Personally i would still stay with the game, especially if you enjoy the game in general, there is so much variation that one character will not be able to do it all... hell, tbh some different powersets can seriously change how an AT plays (fire/empathy controller = jack of all trades... but with Rad/Kinetics secondary = DAMAGE OVERLOAD at the later levels...)

At the very least this means anyone who prepurchased prior to PAX couldn't have done so believing they'd get Incarnates.

However, even the April version of the prepurchase page does not mention Incarnates (nothing on the site - even official PAX reporting - mentioned Incarnates). If they never updated the site designed to promote Going Rogue, then the odds are very much against the NCSoft store page being updated. If the promotional site didn't get an update, then my mind would be blown that the publishers updated a product page.
    Agreed.

And not to mention as well that it would be pretty impressive for Incarnates to be listed as an official feature of Going Rogue around the time of pre-orders being listed, and then it being removed from the website a short period later (end of March, and still no mention of it all the way up to July) before Positron mentioning the removal of the "sneak peak" feature officially in July.

If NCsoft did all of the above just to spite those who pre-ordered, then i want them to give me next weeks winning lottery numbers, because that amount of foresight is impressive.

Note: Took a while to type this all up due to CSI on TV...
  16. Truth is, i hate respeccing in *any* game... even in games that have "unlimited" respecs.

And at the early stages (ie up to level 20ish) a respec is suprisingly fast, but once you start having to deal with a lot of enhancements, slots and indeed, the *order* in which you choose powers, it can take a long time.

Now saying that, i like that you have 2 builds (once you get to level 10 i think, might be level 20) and then a 3rd build once you unlock your Alpha Slot...

So that is 3 "free" respecs... and then you can buy them off the ingame market, use your veteran reward respecs, the ones awarded with issues, and then also the "earnable" respecs.

So the number of "limited" respecs is 3 (if you are a hero), 4 for a villain, and then you have another 2 (if you choose to use your extra build slots as respecs, 3 if you are 50).

Note: When the game was launched, you were limited to the "free respecs" that developers handed out, and the 3 that you could earn from doing the Respec trial... but the introduction of the Veteran system also started to add them in as rewards and so on and so forth.

I can see where you are coming from, and to be honest, you can do quite a bit on the test server to use/abuse/respec as you want.... It might be a bit quiet on the test server, but you do have "Unlimited" respecs...

And the fact that you can buy the respecs (if you have enough influence) off the market helps as well... so you do have your "unlimited" respecs....
  17. Do powersets count as content? Right now Beam Rifle is "Market Only"

I would *love* to be proven wrong, but everything that I am finding is proving exactly the opposite...

And dont you think that Incarnates would be a worthwhile mention as well as the two powersets on the official overview, and yet according to http://web.archive.org/web/201003230.../overview.html ((dated 23rd March 2010)) there is no mention of it... So that to me makes me feel that Incarnates were not a feature of Going Rogue....

I personally would *love* it if the developers *did* include some form of Incarnate abilities for the "freemium" players to enjoy, even if it is just the 1st 2 tiers of the Alpha Slot (what was 1st introduced with Issue 19)...

Issue 19: Incarnates was released November 30th 2010....

Issue 19.5: Strike Pack was released 1st February 2011....

Edit: And if you read what i linked to earlier up on the thread (EU going Rogue site, 4th May 2010) you would notice that their overview page doesnt list Incarnates...

Infact, it wasnt until July that Positron said that the Sneak Peak was going to be pulled out of Going Rogue...

So what do we go on? What the website advertises or what the developers say?

Now, if the pre-order site states that Going Rogue had Incarnate stuff, but it was removed from the official Going Rogue website before 4th May... dont you find it strange that there was no developer comment about it until July.... especially if it was going ot be an "Official feature" of Going Rogue...

  23. I had this happen to me, infact i posted it up in a seperate thread...

Send a /petition either ingame or by using the NCsoft support page, and then when the fix goes in, the GM's should be able to award it to you.

Apparently the bug that prevents us from getting the reward is also preventing the GM's from awarding the slot to us as well....
  24. Oh bugger, does this mean that because i have 8 character slots used on one server, and although i have bought CoH, CoV, GvE and GR i will loose access to 4 of them if i unsub?

Its even worse in that I lose access to my main character because they are a controller unless i pay for them....

DAMMIT NCSOFT GIVE ME WHAT I PAID FOR FOR FREE

    /sarcasm
  25. QR: No, but if gametime was indeed purchasable off the Paragon Market, then if you are subbed, you could get a free month of gametime every 3rd month (remember, you get 400 points every month just for subscribing).

And if the game time cost more than 1200 points, who would actually buy the game time off the market, as it would be cheaper to subscribe for the 30 day.

And yes, all refer a friend deals that i am aware of (for all mmo's that i can think of) require your account to be active at the time that your friend activates their account fully. So this means that if you delayed paying for your sub by a day... and your friend activated on that day (or even an hour before you resubbed...) you would miss out on your bonus.
