A lot more than it uses for crafting, that's for sure.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's definitely going to be a good thing. Yeah cause we know those small groups have it coming out their ears and need that storage space. -
I wonder how much salvage a small group brings in on average.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Nooo lets not oh I dunno SCALE IT to the number of people in your SG. </end rant>[/b]
[/ QUOTE ]
Scale prices to the number of people in the SG? Hell, what a great idea. I'll have everyone drop out of the SG, sell everything back that we had before, buy it back for very low prices cause I'm an SG of 1, then invite everyone back to the SG. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm just as much part of the player base as you are. And I think you're fretting.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not fretting. I am the leader of the #1 prestige earning SG on Guardian. What ever they throw into the game we will be able to afford. I'm just looking at the Devs history and being logical about the whole situation. I hope they do actually make something affordable that is also useful to small groups. Maybe it will curve some of the threads from the members of small groups.
I'm willing to bet there will be extreme complaints once these things hit test server. -
[ QUOTE ]
And the Devs won't have thought of this because.....?
[/ QUOTE ]
......because they are the Devs? They don't have a stellar record going at the moment. It is common and appropriate I think for the player base to be skeptic. If the player base is this way Lady_Sadako you have to wonder why we are this way. We aren't questioning them for no reason. -
[ QUOTE ]
Bingo.
Making the buffs be Inspiration or Click-power like is just ASKING for abuse. Besides, that's the type of stuff the Invention System should deal with.
Empowerment stations are instant buffs. You are bathed in radiation/magic/etc. on the spot and get a bonus to your travel speed/lethal resistance/attack speed/endurance recovery/knockback protection/whatever you need at the time, right then and there.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, this just means empowerment stations are for PvP only then really. If you think they will be abused as inspiration/click type powers you should see how we will abuse them with a 15min timer on them. You really don't have a PvP mind at all do you Posi. You want less abuse? Here.
Make them a 1 time click power. It lasts 5 minutes after you use the item you can't use another for an hour. Do you think this would work for both PvP and PvE? Of course it would because guess what I am looking at it from both a PvP stand point and a PvE stand point. You guys are so worried about making something too overpowering in PvP that you are screwing the PvE community. Making it so that it lasts for 5 minutes but another can't be used for an hour would get people out of tough situations both in PvP and in PvE but would also not be overpowering because you can't use them over and over.
I know I am just wasting my breath because I7 is coming out soon and you guys aren't going to change how something effects you in that amount of time. You might change minor things like how long the buff lasts or the effectiveness of the buff. However you won't change that it is given to you on the spot because I'm sure you have fx and other art already in designed for these stations and you wouldn't want to take out a bad idea because that would be wasted man hours on the fx and other stuff. It's going in the way it is no matter how horrible of an idea it is.
Don't worry about changing them though. My SG will get plenty of PvP use out of it with the poorly thought out design you have them in now. You haven't even imagined abuse yet. -
[ QUOTE ]
Empowerment station buffs are currently set at 15 minute durations (far longer than any other non-toggle buff in the game). They are bestowed on you as soon as you craft them, and last 15 minutes from there. The idea is to have enough time to get you past that sticky part of a mission that was giving you trouble.
15 minutes is the time we are going to the Training Room with. If it turns out that that's not enough time for you to Empowerment Buff, get to the mission, and get you through the tough fight, then it will be increased.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's a terrible idea. I thought you guys wanted to give us something cool and helpful. So bascially it is a power that you get because you died in your mission and rezzed in your base? You craft it and try to run back to your mission and hope the buff helps you get past it? Wouldn't just buying inpirations while you were in the base give you the same benefit? And the inspirations will be more convenient since you can use them or not use them depending on what the situation calls for.
I just don't think this will be very helpful and I think it is far from what people thought we would be getting. When you think about it. It really doesn't make much sense and I see no reason for the addition the way you are going to do it. It's another object with no point except that you waste your salvage on it. It goes in line with the inf to prestige conversion rate idea. At the base it is a good idea but the way it is implemented brings nothing to the game and people won't use it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Either, they need someone neutral, story wise, or recode the trainers to know the difference between hero and villain.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah exactly. If they are coded different now then beta then throw in 2 trainers, one for each side. We know they have the code to recognize if a person is hero or villain cause we already have the separate contacts and stores that do this. And we have DJ Zero who doesn't care if you are hero or villain. Looks like the code is in place to be hero specific, villain specific, or neither. -
[ QUOTE ]
Uhhh....it's rather late for me, so forgive me if I'm wrong, but are there any regular zones with more than one trainer?
[/ QUOTE ]
*Edit, cause I just logged in and now can't find the trainer*
Ok found it. It was actually Cap Au Diable that has the 2 trainers. One near the Port Oaks ferry and the other in Aeon City. -
[ QUOTE ]
but the trainer issue is a little more difficult from a technical standpoint.
[/ QUOTE ]
so you can put in hero and villain specific stores and contacts but for some reason you can't put in hero and villain specific trainers? i really don't buy that argument. -
[ QUOTE ]
Don't pretend that this is about bashing the Devs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not pretending it is about bashing the Devs. If it was about bashing the Devs I would be right in the middle of it. This is about people not getting all the information, making up their own information, and then being mad about not having the correct information. That's all this is about. -
[ QUOTE ]
That's exactly how I remember it, too. FWIW.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I remember it the same as well. It sucks that the Devs are actually human and can leave out information. What we need is robots who come in here and give out conned information so everything that people might assume on their own accord would be clear to begin with.
Since it was the players themselves who came up with the idea that the base would still be usable and no Dev actually came out and said it, seems like it is the players' fault everyone is upset. But players' (myself included) obviously can't be blamed for giving themselves misinformation even though that is what happened.
So Boo you Devs for being human again. Boo I say. -

Honestly, one of the things that there's been too little discussion of is base layout.
[/ QUOTE ]
In this early going we aren't too worried about the base layout. With such small plots at the moment there isn't much you can do. A couple of room placements were done purposely; like the medbay next to the vault room. And 2 doorways for the teleport room. -
I didn't feel like taking pictures room to room of The Bane of Prometheus' villain base. So here's....
A view of our base from our orbital satellite
E - Entrance
P - Power
T - Teleport
W - Workshop
C - Control
M - Medical
V - Vault
W2 is there at the moment just to hold a dimensional anchor. Not much fluff because it is being built toward a PvP base.
Edit: Ok, I took a pic of our teleport room since someone asked to see.... And I thought while I am doing the teleport room, I might as well add the others. The vault room is a little dark now but when an IoP is placed in there, it will look pretty cool. We should have the 12x12 plot by next weekend and the whole thing will change again. LOL

but what i enjoy more is double posting. heh

i really enjoy these over dramatic threads. keep them up. they give me fun stuff to read.

Is it possible for a spy from another SG to get invited to yours and ends up putting your own SG open to raids at 2am when nobody is defending it. Sneaky but I see this as happening.
[/ QUOTE ]
You set permissions for each ranking in the sg. For my SG only the top 2 rankings can schedule raids and set times for raids to be made on our base. So for us no a spy could not do what you mentioned. -
The event was excellent. Most fun I've had in CoH/CoV well since CoH came out...
-
[ QUOTE ]
Just letting you know I have read this, and will be addressing the valid issues.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've heard that before. I'll believe it when I see it. -
[ QUOTE ]
a Defense build absolutely depends on the enemy missing his attacks!
[/ QUOTE ]
what the hell. these defense builds are all scappers and tanks. they have medium to high hit points. the people who rely on defense debuffs to keep themselves alive and actually have a chance in a battle are controllers and defenders (LOW HIT POINT).
In my opinion this change is worst then suppresion and the toggle range nerf. If you guys don't want defenders in the arena just say so; I'll roll up a stone tanker very quickly. -
Defender debuffs are suppose to not be resistable in the arena so are you going to stay with your word on this or now are they magically going to be resisted by these debuff resist bonuses? If they are going to be resisted I know a lot of players who are just going to stop playing the arena. You already have so few people playing in the arena that changes like this are just idiotic.
The problem was that defense was bad yes but you missed the entire point. It is bad against accuracy bonus powers(aim/buildup/etc); it wasn't bad against defense debuff powers if you think it was then I'm very very afraid because obviously you don't play the same game all us costumers are playing.
Please let me understand because right now this is extremely bewildering. What the hell is your vision for defenders because right now and how things are changing every person should just delete their defenders. -
Hey Positron,
Give defiance to defenders if blasters don't want it. We will take anything at this point just show us you know we exist. -

There is no badge for Calvin Scott.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you for not giving a badge out for something that had no mention of a badge being recieved when it was around. That would have upset a lot of people. At least with the holiday ones if they aren't able to be done again if you were around at the time you knew you would get a badge. If they gave a badge for Calvin Scott that would be giving a badge for something you can't do any longer and had no idea there was going to be a badge for it.
Thanks again for no Calvin Scott badge. Very good play on that. -
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the suggestions...we'll definitely revisit the Shard to add new content (badges, missions, etc.), reformat current TF's (a little less grindy), make the teleporters fit the zone better, etc.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes the question is when? Will we have to wait til Issue 6 for there to be any reason to go to the SS? -
[ QUOTE ]
While I do think that 10 seconds is a tad too long, what really boggles me is the -def on some of the powers. Why have a def component on the power at all if it is just going to be reduced at the very moment you even need it? I mean, you don't need defense while stealthed because nothing is trying to attack you. The stealth is your defense. Then you get into a fight and your stealth drops taking your defenses with it right when their use actually comes into play? It makes no sense.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree with this. When you need the defense the most is when you are seen so why surpress that? I don't agree with any type of surpression at all though. I don't know who came up with the idea but it was horrible. I guess it was punishment for all those against the -acc with travel powers. Oh well, maybe one day one of the devs will come up with a good solution to this mess but surpression is definitely not even close to being worth anything at all.
