Not that I'm into that sort of thing, I just hate time paradoxes and the less I have to think about them the better.
  2. Thank the Great Maker they do not add more dopplegangers. I hate that stuff.

This is not a racing game, though.

I don't care all that much about the numbers, but how much fun I'm having with the powerset. I'm not with Staff, but that's just personal preference.

And Eye of the Storm just bugs the heck out of me with the rolling on the ground animation. I hope an alternate animation is created sometime in the future when I might come up with a better character concept than having my MA scrapper pick up a staff and give it a whirl.
  4. I've played on many servers. Except for Virtue having a larger RP community, most servers are about the same. You get the same percentage number of trolls, powergamers, jerks, silent PUGs, elitist snobs, server-biased, and bad players no matter the server you are on. You also find friendly good players, too.

What I do like about Virtue is that most people have actual descriptions written. Other servers, including Champion, I'm usually the only one on a team with a bio (every character of mine has one.. EVERY character).

I started on Champion and started playing on Virtue more often for the RP. It isn't as common as you think. Yeah, the (( )) can be annoying, but you get used to it. Pocket D is a cesspool of "activity", but even the RPers know this and laugh at it.

Come back to Virtue, it isn't THAT bad. You don't have to stay, either. Just come and have fun.

    Baseball Cards

When the CoX CCG came out there was a website where you could make a card and put your own image on it. I don't know if it is still around. I had made a couple of cards with characters I had back then.

Too bad the CCG did not last long. One problem it had was that it was not designed for multi-player so people could work as a team against someone playing a deck designed for an arch-villain. I was working on such a method when the CCG collapsed.
  6. I propose that the domed garden area atop the Atlas Park's skyscraper be named "Garden of Solace", and that a plaque be placed in there to commemorate that sad event.

Another idea I had was that a wall of (unreadable) names be placed in some zone. Atlas Park would have been best, but I doubt the devs would add it now after the revamp. But perhaps if another zone gets revamped then the wall, or some other monument, gets placed there.

    Yay for Club ♥

bah.. more spiky hair, I hate spiky hair.

The front part of the female hairstyle is fine, but I hate the back.

Also, a human ear is showing, so for my character with other ears it doesn't work anyway.

As for the jeans, yeah, I prefer regular pants colored blue, or motorcycle leathers for showing the female rear. mmmm...

Now you don't have to put up with a person who thinks her attempts at shoving her proboscis into the devs nethers is in any way funny or helpful.
That does not do much good if people keep quoting the person you want to ignore.
  9. Yay! I have none of those things, yet. Off to the store.

Btw, strappy heels make your ankles look fat (IMO). But then I prefer Heel 2 so I can put long sexy legs in silk stockings.
  10. I delete characters often, no matter the level. I don't feel a thing.

I've been playing RPGs for over 30 years. I have a long list of character sheets I've never kept, although I did keep a couple for a long time.

It's no different with video game characters. They're bits of information on a platter somewhere. It's what I keep in my memories that's important.

    Red is dead?

I always thought that the northern large island in Nerva is wasted. So much more could have been done with that then just having spawns every 50 feet: a few more (vine-covered*) ruins with interiors, some regular stairs cut into the stone going up a cliff, an ape kingdom ( .. been suggested before), boulder traps , etc.

I'd play redside more often if I could play a character rebelling against Arachnos with secret bases/campsites/trainers on several outskirt islands, even those already in the current zones. Longbow's base in Agincourt could be the main staging area (as in some immersive NPC activites and structures, plus a trainer .. could even be a repetitive mission contact for all levels there, too). But then this would require a lot of new contacts and story arcs and missions and ... things to do besides being an Arachnos lackey. Burke seemed to be the start of something like that and then.. nothing. Now we don't even have Burke.

    * come to think of it, are there vines any where in the game? With all the ruins, I don't recall seeing any vines on them. Of course, I might not have been paying that close attention. Welp, off to Nerva to take a closer look.

Does it get annoying? Yes. Does it get repetitive? Yes. Do the annoying nerds that (can be cute sometimes) hit on your because you're a female become a nuisance? Yes. Is there any way around it? No. Not for now anyway, that is until more of us play MMO's/Vidya in general so to even out the playing field of ''gamers'' in general.

It's not going to change until we "boy gamers" start seeing more females IN PERSON around the gaming table playing RPGs and other table games. The collectable/tradeable card games do see more females, though.

I own a game store. I haven't seen who plays in the RPGs that happen every night and sometimes day, but I'm sure I can count on one hand how many players are female, and I won't have to use all my fingers, either. (I know of two offhand, and doubt there's more, but there could be). Miniatures night there might be a wife and husband that play, but with two kids they don't show up often. I can understand the lack of females in miniatures since most are historical wargames, but there are a few fantasy skirmish ones as well (I have an elven army with a couple of unicorns and couple of faeries, manly ones of course , and quite a few female figures.. I like painting those ).

    I'll take the blondes, Tenzhi.
  14. Yet another vampire-ish show?

sigh.. Buffy! Come back as a TV exec and stake these shows to dust!

I want a spaceship show, ala Firefly, Blake 7, Farscape, Star Trek, etc, but there's nothing.

Agent Kitty Katswell? She's the main reason the pair succeed. Puppy is usually pretty dumb, sometimes too dumb, but has his moments (flashes of brilliance or dumb luck) which is why the agency keeps him. Perhaps the episode you saw had her incapacitated for some reason; I don't recall it.

    ........

I saw the Iron Mutt episode. It is one of the better ones. It is a hit or miss type of show, for me at least, but with more hits than misses.
  16. Anyone else watching TUFF* Puppy? I avoided it at first, like most "kiddie" cartoons, but watched an episode and laughed. It's a secret agent type of show, somewhat Get Smart-like but even more over the top.

The intro song is reminiscent of Secret Agent Man.

Love the main enemy group's name: D.O.O.M. (Diabolical Order of Mayhem), headed by Verminious Snaptrap (he's a giant rat). If I was into playing villains I'd so use that first name.

    * TUFF stands for Turbo Undercover Fighting Force

Really?! I've spun the camera around to take a screenshot: it's a really neat view if you can catch your character about to land that flying kick to the head. But I didn't know it also did extra damage!

I'm joking about the extra damage. Really.

    Tights!

When I saw this costume in Monsters vs. Aliens I wanted to make a character with a *cough* very similar costume...

.. in essence: various asymetric lines that can be glowie or shiny and any color. Not that I want to recreate Ginormica since I prefer making my own original characters, but I do sometimes draw inspiration from others. I also like the neckline: part way up the neck.

Also, if you make two versions that mesh at the seam (the waistline), then you get four costumes for the price of two (option 1 top & option 1 bottom, 2&2, 1&2, 2&1). I'd like to see another Tribal pattern, for instance.
  19. No jungle girl (and boy) outfits? Darn.

Although, I'd rather see those added along with some more woods added to revamped zones for some "pulp" story lines. (and add those maps to AE, too!)

More patterns, please. Seems odd to have just one "magic" pattern, and that one doesn't even have the usual stars and moons.

    So I choose A.

It doesn't even come close to making any world or story settings I want.

For instance, I want to make a series of jungle adventures, but all I get is two maps with any sort of actual woods.

I want to set up a mystery in a mansion, no map at all exists for that.

I want to have heroes stop a airplane's hijacking while it is at the airport. Hmm, don't see a map for that, either (and an airport does exist in Cap). Or, similarly, I have an idea for a story to stop the launch of a rocket (i.e., Warburg) by some villain that intends to spread some plague or other mass influencing effect.

I can write all the pretendy story to fit any of those, but without the proper maps to have actual play in then it's like AE in general: fake.

Which comes back to the topic: we're fake gods.

My "goddess" was taking bullets, flamethrowers, grenades, and other damaging attacks and shrugging it off, yet in TPN she was taken down by a few rocks. This destroyed any sense of doing incarnate stuff ever again. And, I haven't. The Dark Astoria/solo thing I will wait and see what it brings.
  21. heh.. this thread sounds like the making of a few Steelclaw lists.

The first one would be: Inspirations Anonymous' 12 Step program.

I think my "joining bad PUGs" list has already been done.. many times in varous forms (mainly, all the bad pug threads).
  22. Make use of the doppleganger lore and make a clone, only your clone saw the light early and followed its predecessor's life (perhaps not exactly).

    Or, as I have done:
I made a "new" character recently that was really my level 50 Ar/Dev blaster putting away her AR and taking up the role of mentor for recently paroled street criminals wanting to make right: a thugs Mastermind in Paragon City. Once in awhile she has to use her pistols to help out, but otherwise directs her charges to be heroic. I put in the bio that she was asked, as well as many other "retired" heroes, to do this by the city. Of course, going from rifle to pistol is an easy transition story wise.
  23. I like Leo's idea of some meter for "street sweeping", er, civilian saving heroics. I've always wanted some way to measure this (and the "villains" can do this in the Rogue Isles as well.. you're saving them to serve you later.. muhahaha ).

I did just think of one way, but it has a finality to it: street sweeping badges, one per non-hazard zone. In a way, the defeat badges cover this.. I try to get the Weather(gender) badge by defeating Outcast bosses in Steel Canyon while I'm still in the 10-20 level range (rarely do, though). I hunt, er, patrol, in Perez Park for a number of them as well.
