Ive been fighting in Sirens for a week and a half or so, and decided to make the journey to RV by way of the market. Couldnt slot my first pvp IO so I checked the price, and sold it for 5 - 8 million. My second pvp IO was also of no use to me and I sold it for 15 - 20 million. I was definitely a bit disappointed cus I had been hopin for more based on things Id heard....
So I said f this let me slot one of these things, and bought all the salvage for the Unique enhancement that was going to go in one of my Heals (EM/regen stalker) then checked the price...400 million!!!
Jackpot! I win!
Panacea: Chance for +Hit Points/Endurance
An awesome recipe that I would really like to slot, but I couldnt pass on 400 million. Now, how many more people do I have to kill to get another one?
So, you can help me out by pvping more. Whatever server youre on, just go pvp more. Itll be fun.
Thanks! -
I don't shop at Wall Mart, but I would like a lower monthly fee.

If this suggestion comes to fruition, then later on we may find ourselves with PvP zones that have kiosks, that have arena kiosks in arenas that have arena kiosks in arenas that have arena kiosks.....
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't follow that at all. Can you try to clarify? It would seem that we would have PvP zones with Arena kiosks, and the chain ends there.
1) Enter pvp zone
2) Click arena kiosk
3) Zone-in to arena match
4) Zone-out to pvp zone hospital -

I don't recall ever "accusing you of trying to pad your post count."
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps your memory is as good as your ideas.
I know what you said, and I know the REAL reason (you were being ignorant and hypocritical and I called you out).
I would have gladly discussed this issue with you privately but apparently your MO is to broadcast that your ignoring someone, insult their character, un-ignore for the purpose of sending long-winded and crazy pm's with additional insults and then ignoring again.
You may unignore folks when you realize that not everything they say is intended to completely shoot down one of your foolish ideas/arguments, but I don't forget the ignorant attacks that get sent to me via PM by fools like you.
I apologize for the derailment regarding billy. I probably should have sent him a PM regarding this issue when I realized he wasn't ignoring me.

[ QUOTE ]
If you want to actually have a *discussion* on it via PM....I have my doubts that either (a) you will have such a discussion honestly.
[/ QUOTE ]
Even a broken clock is right twice every day! You're correct that I'm not interested in having a discussion with you via PM. I just wanted to send you a response to your PM to say that the pvp "idea" you had that lead up to your "psychotic/whiny" PM to me really was the worst pvp suggestion I've ever seen, and you shouldn't have been surprised by some of the negative feedback you received in the thread. You've been around long enough to know that people will disagree with you, so you shouldn't get your panties in a bunch when that happens. Also, it's probably best if you keep me on ignore, as I'm not inclined to agree with ridiculously bad ideas, and I'd hate to upset you the next time you have a suggestion.
...
On topic, this WAS a serious suggestion three years ago and it should still be implemented. -
[ QUOTE ]
With something like this i would also be more inclined to do random kickball events and swiss tournys and stuff like that (afaik the 'new' swiss option has pretty much gone unused i think for the whole reason the arenas are not readily accessible by ppl who are in the process of pvping (IE zones)) I personally dont like spending 5-10 mins zoning just to go to pocket D when im already in RV, just to watch a 10 mins fight and then head back to RV.. its really annoying.

The Truth!
Maybe they can link the pvp zones while they're at it!

I'll put you back on ignore if you wish
[/ QUOTE ]
Woo Hoo! No more PM's from the forum cartel accusing me of trying to pad my post count (which I did actually find quite hilarious, since he wasn't joking).
I don't personally feel the need to ignore forumites who disagree with me from time to time, and if I did I certainly wouldn't broadcast it in the forums like a maroon. Sometimes people you don't like post some of the most laughable ideas, and I wouldn't want to miss out on those...So keep 'em comin'. -
[ QUOTE ]
Why do you feel the need to kill people not interested in fighting you, unless in a duel ?
[/ QUOTE ]
I log into the zone. How do I know who is interested in fighting me and who is not? I assume everyone is interested in fighting everyone. If someone sends me a tell and politely asks to be left alone for one reason or another, I go along with that request. If someone sends me a stream of tells that just say "Loser!" over and over again (as happened last night), I will make it a point to kill that person whenever I can, regardless of what they are trying to do. Maybe some folks react differently and say "Oh, now that you've called me a loser a bunch of times, I know my place, and see that you clearly deserve the utmost respect. Please provide me with instructions of who I'm allowed to attack and when. I'll be sitting in the corner until I receive your instructions. Anxiously awaiting your reply Master!"

My Zone Dueling Rules:
We fight on site. Anything goes. It starts when I enter the zone, and ends when I leave.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know it's silly to think that everyone in the zone should follow the rules I choose to apply to my own behavior. I wish everyone else realized how silly it is to try and impose their made-up rules on everyone else in the zone.
If two people are trying to duel, I generally choose another target (if available), but I reserve the right to attack anyone I want at any time (since my target is already dueling ME by MY rules). -
Glad to see folks do support this idea. Of course, this idea is not "new" as I have been suggesting it since DAY ONE of the pvp zones, and many others have had the same suggestion over the years.
I think it's time to make it happen!
To Blackavaar, the whole point of the QoL suggestion is to make it easier to get to the Arena. Right now, if you want to go from a pvp zone to the arena, you often need to travel through multiple zones, and then make the opposite journey back to the pvp zone. It's very annoying. Adding arena kiosks to the areas where pvp'ers actually play makes intuitive sense.
12 heroes vs 2 villains isn't a whole lot of fun for anyone, more times than not. With arena kiosks in the zones, the 14 players could quickly enter a fair and fun fight. Trying to get those same 14 players to travel through multiple zones to get to an existing arena is an almost impossible task. Why not make arena fights more convenient?
And Billy, Billy Billy Billy, I'm glad you support this suggestion, but I'd prefer you return me to your ignore list. We will likely disagree again in the future, and I'd simply prefer not to receive any more psychotic/whiny PMs from you. Thanks! -
I've got this great new idea and I'm shocked this has never been suggested before!
PLEASE add arena terminals in each of the pvp zone hospitals.
This will be a HUGE QoL improvement and increase the use of the arena.
Allowing players who fight in the zones to create fair and even arena matches when they want to will be great for the pvp environment in this game.
With DR, they might as well add an inspiration store to go with each terminal too.
Please!
Thank you. -
My Zone Dueling Rules:
We fight on site. Anything goes. It starts when I enter the zone, and ends when I leave. -
I understand why more duels happen in the zone than in the arena, and I certainly understand the allure of fighting 1 on 1.
The dev's effd up when they did not make arena terminals accessible from the pvp zones. Had they corrected this oversight at some point in the past few years, I'm sure your opponents would gladly join you in the arena.
If you duel in the zones and enjoy it, more power to you. I'm sure you've had duels interrupted your fair share of times, and I'd hope you don't act like an Ftard in broadcast when that happens.
Some players in this thread have said that they will hunt down and kill repeatedly anyone who interferes with their duel. Well, personally, that's exactly what I want to FIGHT! I'd rather you try to hunt me down and kill me than for me to stand around with my thumbs up my cape while a bunch of folks stand around watching a brute and tank brawl each other into a stalemate. Go figure!
People make me laugh. The other day I logged in and attacked a couple villains and after killing both of them a couple times one of them challenged me to a duel in broadcast, and the other sent me tells complaining that I wouldn't duel his teammate. I'm attacking 1 v 2 and killing both, and he's upset that I won't duel go figure. "I'm not here to duel" thanks.
I certainly understand why people duel in the zones, and that it can be good fun. However, I generally dislike the attitude many/most zone duelists have in the zone, and once a player "crosses the line" with me I will never respect his right to duel again. I will gladly go out of my way to interfere with a donkey hat.
Don't act like a donkey, and your duels are less likely to be interrupted. -
What can I say? It was my first pvp IO, and it seemed appropriate that it came as a result of an interrupted duel. I got a good laugh out of the (still living) duelists broadcast response to the interruption. The guy who was defeated seemed genuinely happy that I got a reward.
I have a general dislike for zone duelists, as they are often some of the loudest and most idiotic voices in broadcast chat.
Call me a noob all you want. I'll take my pvp IO and be on my way. Thanks.
Keep on duelin'! -
I F'n HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE INTERRUPT MY DUELS!!! Don't you noobs know how to play?!?!?!?
IF you see two people fighting 1 v 1, you shouldn't interrupt! It's proper zone etiquette to wait around doing nothing until the duel is over.
AND don't attack people who are standing around next to the duel, as you might accidentally hit a dueler with an AoE. Don't be SO STUPID!!!
.
Just kidding of course
I only had a few minutes to play the other day, so I hopped in the zone and started hunting villains. I had a couple kills and only another minute to play before the end of the world (err. girlfriend aggro). The only remaining villain in sight was involved in a duel, but hey my time is prescious, so I had to send him to the pavement.
PvP IO!!! Woot!
The best reason to interrupt a zone duel yet! -

Yeah, the stickies in this forum are a bit ridiculous and in some cases redundant, in my opinion.
We don't need a "Signature Powers" thread + a "Custome Weapon Request" + "Power and Weapon Customization" + a "Power Suggestion" thread all sticked. At most, one of those should be stickied.
"Day Jobs" thread has run its course, in my opinion, and should no longer be stickied.
Only one of "More Zones for Villains" and "Villains! Lets make a list!" should be stickied
So, that gets rid of 5 of the stickies right there, making room for current suggestions on the front page. -
Id like to allow players to place a virtually unlimited number of items for sale on the market...for a cost.
The market slots players currently have available would not be impacted, but everyone would be capable of adding additional market slots in order to place additional items for sale (i.e. the item in the slot must be listed for sale on the market).
Players will pay a daily rent for each additional Sale Slot purchased, and the rent will be based on the listing price of the item for sale in each slot, as shown in the table below.
Daily Fees for Additional Sale Slots
Code:[/color]

Listing Price of Item Sale Slot Fee
in Sale Slot (Charged Every 24 hours)
1 - 1,000 = 5
1,001 - 5,000 = 10
5,001 - 10,000 = 25
10,001 - 50,000 = 100
50,001 - 100,000 = 1,000
100,001 - 500,000 = 10,000
500,001 - 1,000,000 = 20,000
1,000,001 - 5,000,000 = 50,000
5,000,0001 - 10,000,000 = 100,000
10,000,001 - 50,000,000 = 200,000
50,000,001 - 100,000,000 = 500,000
100,000,001+ = 1,000,000

If a player can no longer afford the daily fee for a slot, the list price of the item for sale in that slot would automatically be reduced to a price where the player can afford the fee. If the player runs out of money, the item would be repossessed by the system.
This change would enable players to sell far more items on the market, and would be good for the market in general.
Thoughts? -

Good post.
Don't listen to the "not going to happen" responses even though it's probably uh..not going to happen
Suggesting changes within the framework of the i14 changes is a good way to go.
I tend to leave the number crunching to other folks, but some of the changes you are suggested definitely have merit.
[u]MEZ Resistence[u] - Fact is they completely overhauled the way mez works in pvp, and I doubt even the devs think the implementation was flawless. Surely, with enough complaints/suggestions they will consider making adjustments.
[u]Damage Normalization[u] - See MEZ Resistence above.
[u]DR Threshholds[u] - See Damage Normalization above.
AND FOR GOODNESS SAKES, HEALS AND BUFFS SHOULD NOT TRIGGER SUPPRESSION. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!! -

Don't take this joke of a game too seriously, because trying to actually be competitive in a game clearly designed to deter competition is.....well...just silly. What's left is to just mess around in zones and pwn nubs. Ironically, I came to this realization over a year ago, when PvP in this game was a far lesser joke than now

Aye, ways to get rid of stamina if desired:
Heavy end reduction slotted into powers
Slot for as much Recovery and Max Endurance as possible.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it depends what you're doing. I have a character that I primarily use to for solo-zone pvp, and I get by pretty well with no stamina by slotting a number of IO's to help with my end usage and recovery. It works fine for me, BUT if the zone was more heavily populated and the fighting was non-stop I'd want stamina.
