Pretty much comics are at the "well...at least the kid's reading" stage.

But is it better than not really dying at all, but being misplaced in time and having to fight your way back, while some of your allies fight to take over your role?

Quote:Hmmm...I'd love to see a new Wonder Woman show. And I've usually enjoyed DK's shows. A little bit worried with how they might go with it though.
I don't know if I want to see a NEW Wonder Woman. I want to see the super strong, durable, can fly, deflect bullets Wonder Woman. What we've seen in animated movies would be great.
If it turns out she's just a female Batman with the name Wonder Woman, I would have to wonder why they don't just call the show Batwoman.
Will just have to wait and see. I have faith the writing will be good, it's more a question of, will this be Wonder Woman or will this be Wonder Woman in name only.
a WWINO? -
C'mon people. there's only 37 posts here, and now 3 of them are the "newsflash! NBC wants a pilot!"....is any one actually reading the thread?

Quote:BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
When is the last time the Dev's looked at MM's outside of totally broken powers?
O that's right they never have. No I'm not bitter.
Bodyguard was not in at the launch of CoV. Outside of their AI issues (most of which can be worked around) what would they *need* to look at MMs for? -

Quote:You do realize, with the exception of being the ruler of a country, that is essentially the same "powers" that Batman has?The Black Panther has long been a favorite of mine, so this is potential good news for me. I'm not sure how well some of his distinctive features would translate to a movie, though. Aside from his interesting superpower (ruling his own Ruritanian country), the thing I find most interesting about the Black Panther is that he's usually portrayed as a character whose greatest power is a super-genius brain and the ability to plan effectively, which doesn't necessarily make for the same kind of narrative tension in a movie as it can in print. The Black Panther needs to be more than some African guy who wears black and kicks people. We'll see, I guess.

Quote:Most of the censorship on radio is self imposed by whatever company owns the station. There's only a few things that are actually actionable by the FCC. So it's generally a case of a media company not wanting to deal with some activist group threatening their sponsors.Mmmm censorship.
I'm quite against any form of censorship including this, but I have a question.
I noticed (in the US, atleast) that newer songs have to be really censored for radio. Even words like God and references to drugs get censored. Yet the oldie rock station I listen to can play this song or Pink Floyds "Money" uncensored. Both contain coarse language. Why do old songs avoid censorship? -
Quote:There are those that think Superman should have turned Batman into paste in that fight. Granted Superman has that power, but he's not a killer. Batman knows that.
Plus the nuclear winter blotting out the sunlight substantially reduced Superman's power levels. He was still strong, but those missiles that Batman had rigged gave him a far harder time then they should have.
Plus Bruce had the exo armor, and of course he had Green Arrow ready with a kryptonite arrow.
Prep time and knowing your foe are beautiful things.
Exactly my point. Batman being able to beat pretty much anyone in the DCU is common knowledge among comic folks. Hell, I didn't even read DC growing up and *I* knew that about Bats. -
I'd be surprised if there's anyone that considers themselves a comic fan that would struggle with that. People with only a surface knowledge of the chars might have that problem

Quote:Quite possibly. Thats why Vanguard is the way they are.I suspect Trapdoor was specifically designed to be difficult for melee ATs to solo, to counteract all the complaints that melee ATs are overpowered and can solo ridiculous things. It seems the devs noted that a lot of players think that melee ATs have an unfair advantage while soloing (whether that is true or not is another discussion, but a lot of people feel it is), so they designed an encounter that is easier with ranged attacks.
That aside, I quite enjoyed the arc as well. It is one that I won't mind repeating when my characters in their 40s finally hit 50 and can do it. -
ok...but all those people *are* playing those characters, right? He's just mad they released the pic early
-
*points at his post above* Allegedly, Catwoman's going to be doing the fill in work for the "fallen" Dark Knight, more of her shades of grey morality from the comics than an outright opponent. There's also reports that Eva Green will be playing Talia al Ghul and that Naomi Watts is cast as Vikki Vale...I can't see both of those being true..one or the other, else it might start to feel a bit crowded.

Quote:If I recall the idea was to put spiderman in stances that truely looked like a spider in movement. So we got alot of pictures that had Peters body in a tight ball with arms and legs protruding from it to mimick the spider name in the art work and flow of the action. I honestly always liked McFarlanes take on the character. I know many hated the look and the tons of webbing that would fill the frames, but i found it to be pretty nice at that point in time of comic art.
I don't think that's a controversial position. McFarlane is a fantastic artist...sure he could go overboard with the webbing but that's just a minor nit-pick. -
Quote:When *doesn't* a fictional military organization regret weaponizing something they barely understand? :In the most recent Spider-Man storyline, "Big Time" (which is superb, btw), Venom is captured and they rip the symbiote off of Gargan. Which almost kills him until a visitor steps in and offers a way to save him. Which is a nice tertiary storyline that's cooking along underneath the two main stories in the arc. Gargan will come back with a vengeance, I'm sure.
I'm thinking SHIELD will ultimately regret weaponizing the Venom symbiote, but if Dan Slott continues his excellent storytelling, it will be an extremely entertaining ride.
Some writer at some point said that people were kind of creeped out by how Spider-man moved, so McFarlane was running with that concept. Super-flexible and "double-jointed" and fast = weird-looking. -
Seems I may have to revise my title a bit. According to IGN Catwoman will be trying to fill the void left by Bats being on the run, and her vigilante activity is what prompts his return.

Quote:You don't think Wonder Woman and Make up are a good match and you want to use Baywatch as the template for a Wonder Woman television show?
DO you realize how much casual sex those girls on that show had? You don't think WW acting like a woman of questionable morals is going against the "70 years" of history she's built up as some sort of role model?
Don't think anyone said WW should act like the Baywatch ladies. All that's being compared is the "pretty women in skimpy outfit" aspect. And yes. That and slo-mo beach running are the only reason Baywatch was on as long and widespread as it was. -
Quote:Well, is there going to be a fourth? Could just be setting the stage with the character.Odd that although everyone's reporting this as "Anne Hathaway to play Catwoman", the actual studio press release refers only to "Selina Kyle". Bane is mentioned by name, though not secret identity (who cares who a c-list ersatz villain really is under that discount luchador mask?), and Christian Bale is billed as playing "Bruce Wayne/Batman". Maybe this is merely reading too closely into some flack's copy, but perhaps it hints at how Nolan views the characters.

Yeah...this is a wait till cable. I could barely suppress my knowledge of the Xmen (Dark Phoenix Saga is literally one of my earliest memories of reading) to watch the first one, and it just got worse from there. I don't think I can handle the mental acrobatics it would take to even grasp this one.
