Quote:Ya know, when I first started reading this I thought "man, this dude is being mighty critical!" Then I got to the punch line and nearly fell out of chair laughingI'd wonder why, if you're a super-intelligent AI, you went through the trouble of capturing a known threat alive - whatever that threat may be - when killing someone who would potentially oppose you is easier and probably more conductive to your goals in the long run. I'd also wonder how you acquired all these resources and set up this complex (are there construction companies that handle this sort of thing in the CoX universe?), and more importantly, why you did it when you clearly know better.
After that I'd wonder why you've fallen for the tactic of "do something, then wait for your opponent's reaction" that shows up constantly in bad alien invasion films instead of, again, using overwhelming force to take down threats without waiting for a counterattack. If you happened to wander by in your robot body, I might even wonder why something that exists as a platform for an AI and a support/leadership system for assault drones has to have a humanoid body structure instead of, say, something faster, more durable and agile. Or why it even needs to be present instead of controlling its puppet bodies from a secure location.
Then I'd climb through the plot holes to freedom.
...
I mean, I'd climb through them to reach a safe location, not the server. That would just be silly.! Well done sir!

That was my second thought, its time to take out Mothra once and for all!
-
Yes! Giant radioactive doom bunnies!!!
I keed, I keed, but really I agree we could use some kind of new giant beasty to pound on.
I'd really like to see something on 4 legs, perhaps a Cerberus style 3 headed dog type of beast. I don't know how that would get explained in game but whateva -
Well, you see, I allowed myself to be captured to discover the secret location of your base. I have a nano-transmitter embedded in my robotic arm to inform my team of the whereabouts of your lair. I just have to wait until they arrive to free me and topple your evil regime. In the meantime I make use of the reading material and toilet......what? you captured me right after my morning coffee.
p.s. this is an awesome scenario, I had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading the OP and the responses as well. Kudos! -
Wow!
Just wow! that looks awesome!
I kinda want his coat -
This sounds AWESOME! Sadly, its not on my server
Best of luck to those who enter and kudos to the organizers! Great idea
-
Yeah, put me in this camp as well. Normally during intense battles (i.e. worst time possible lol
) I would love to be able to make it just a little bigger.
-
As far as I know, such a beast does not exist. I know what you mean though, there have many times when I ran across something cool in an AE mission and said "cool, I wanna do that, I wish I could peek behind the curtain"
-
I'm proud that I've never been enough of a jackass to start a pointless thread in the forums that insults a large portion of the player base.
I farm on average 2 hours a week, I also partake in all the other things available in the game. So, OP, are you better than me?? Get off you high horse and stop insulting people who don't play the same way that you do. -

I think I have seen this suggested before but I still say this is a good idea, those things should have some purpose. -
I'm with you on this, it dosent come up often but there are time that I play the "what if I had taken power "x" game" and it would come in handy there. On the other hand, mids is only a click away
, although it would be nice to have something in game.

I have nearly 50, 50s and every single one has taken Hasten. I tried to build a couple without it and it just felt off. I am hopelessly addicted to hasten and I need my fix!
-
Do you SG mode turned on with SG colors?
-
The thing is, I gotta* run this TF 7-8 times for my mains and then if im not burnt out yet, another 4 or 5 toons of mine would like their notice as well. So thats a ton of time at an hour twentyish each, especially considering I can get it done in half the time by ghosting/speeding.
Kill all/kill most certainly have their place and can be a lot of fun but, particularly with the WSF, I just wanna knock em out as fast as I can. I'd be happy to run almost any other TF as a kill all once I have most of my WSF's done.
You are in luck though, now its Sister and there is not too much that can be stealthed in that one. Lots of kill alls, sadly we won't be getting any shards from them
*I know no one is forcing me to do it but a brotha gotta have goals, right? -

I cant say how easy or not this would be to implement but I love it.
1 place I would certainly use this (off the top of my head) is Super Speed. I like to be at run speed cap and if I only need a little bit more run speed, say 1/3 of an IO worth, then I can throw some end redux in as added bonus.
Good idea -
I had the same problem trying to decide between the two. I ended up playing them both to 20 and decided on earth/fire......no regrets
I love this toon! The fire/earth probably has the edge in overall damage but Earth Control is just airtight. Nothing gets to fight when i'm around and I can mitigate multiple spawns. Here is the build from another thread.
I do hope to finish up the fire/earth at some point because that seems like it will be fun too but the Fire controls felt a bit lacking.
Bottom line is, I don't think you can go wrong on either one. -
Yeah, tough is just a mule for the steadfast +3%, I had to take it to get weave so might as well throw something useful in it. I don't run it in normal play but I will throw it on in crazy situations. Weather or not its really helping much when I use it is open for debate, honestly I think its more of a placebo effect, I just feel a lil safer
.
Bottom line is that without running it I survive almost everything. Sure I'll eat floor on occasion but who doesn't?
Here it is with the sets.

That bug was fixed, I'm afraid you are just gonna have to wait for the response from support as it sounds like this a new problem or perhaps something specific to you/your toon, Sorry you're having trouble, good luck.
-
I just finished up an Earth/fire Dom that I love but Fire/earth was also a very serious contender. So I'm gonna say fire/earth but grav/fire sounds like fun too.
-
For my money, I think earth/anything is a huge boon to any team. Keep all the baddies held/slept/stunned/falling down/slowed and do -def as a happy side effect, also your pet can soak up an alpha when the need arises. I like it paired with rad, but I just love Rad so perhaps I'm a bit biased.
Earth/TA is an amazing combo as well, as Local_Man said, it probably has THE best control combo in the game period. I have mine slotted with an absurd amount of damage procs so I can still solo since its damage in on the low end.
Electric/cold is also very ice in terms of giving you several soft control options as well being capable of becoming a great sapper style toon with awesome team buffs and powerful debuffs.
Plant/Kin is fun and very effective however I get way burnt out playing kins and this one, despite being very team friendly, just seems to collect dust. Thats more a personal thing then any problem with the sets. -
Gratz on the GM solo'n, it can be very addictive. Trollers are prolly my favorite AT in CoH, they are just so versatile.
-
I have to rebuild it in mids because it has sleet from the epic and there is a bug that wont let you open the build (with sleet on a dom). Its been fixed in the latest version of mids and once I rebuild it I'll be happy to post.
-
I'd say it really depends on your needs. If your pretty well off and have a build in mind that uses it, keep it. Another one is only 30 merits away
. On the other hand, if your inf reserves are low then the sale of the +3 could fund an entire fairly pimped out build or even 2 if your frugal. Personally, I've gotten 2 from merits and kept them both, I can make inf in other ways when I need it. I'm half way to another one and I'll be keeping that one too.
P.S. The +3%def PvP IO is 30 merits
