Quote:Other games let you join a queue as a team, if I remember correctly. No idea about other MMOs, but whole teams will be able to join the queue here. The teamleader being the one doing the actual joining. It's in the Issue 20 sneak peek patchnotes.
However, the only downside is some other games feature too many raids across too much gamespace that finding a full raid on a whim is difficult at best. Starting off with two Incarnate Raids to add to server's already running weekly Rikti and Hami raids seems like a good compromise. -
Quote:What is not to understand from even the first post.To be fair, in order to figure out you were getting what you wanted you had to read two separate posts and translate from marketingspeak into English, and even then I'm not entirely 100% sure.
Everything up until the Notices and Favors can be crafted in-game now using Shards. Why would Second Measures (or anybody) for that matter post that things that are already craftable in game with Shards are going to be craftable with Shards in the future to expand accessibility? The few people I was thinking of when I posted the words you quoted are the people who A. wouldn't be happy no matter what decision the devs make because they like the attention complaining and threatening to quit gives them or B. couldn't be bothered to even read a dev post clarifying the subject.
If you ask me to respect a person who is acting like a repressed solo minority or someone who cares so little about the issue that they can't even read two redname posts (one of which is barely two paragraphs), I will kindly you what they did to earn that respect. Because they obviously don't respect this game, this forum, or themselves enough to spend time posting for the betterment of it. -
Quote:Because you couldn't be bothered to read the top most post in the Dev Digest you are depriving yourself of content?Way to be insulting, dung rat. I don't care enough about this issue any more to scan the boards for every post related to it, and I hadn't seen whatever post that quote came from. Yes, I guess they are going to allow us to craft the rare pieces now. But honestly, I find that I don't care anymore. It's clear that the Incarnate system isn't meant for me. So I'm done with it. I might unlock the Alpha slot on my other level 50. If I do, maybe in a few years I'll have accumulated the hundreds of shards it'll take to craft my way up to the Very Rare. And maybe not. It doesn't matter anymore. You, and everyone like you, wins. I give up.
Whoo, I guess I do win. -
Quote:You can't have it both ways. Soloers, since the idea of end game raids have started, have cried for a way, any way, to progress without having to team.
To me it seems that grouping and task forces are plenty popular, but this has an initial whiff that suggests that the devs are making Incarnate system a choke point where soloer's hit a wall of grind to progress in any recognizable. I'm having trouble not seeing this less as "exciting new end game content!" and more as "Exciting new end game raids, and we'll let the solo and casual players lick the bowl when we're done."
Now you have that.
Will it be slower than teaming? Darn right it will be. But you also get to go at your own pace, don't have to put up with other people, etc.
There's never going to be a world where a solo player can achieve all possible incarnate abilities as fast as a team player, just like how a solo player will level up slower than a person who runs constantly in an 8 person team doing all TFs and trials available to them.
The solo community asked for a way, no matter how slow, to progress their character. They now have that. If it's too slow for any solo player, might I recommend one of the lovely trials they have put so much time and resources into? It's as easy to join as clicking a button to join a queue, no global channels or SG teammates needed. Even the most casual of players can do that. -
Quote:Man, reading comprehension is not your strong point, is it, Little Miss Sunshine?I'm assuming it doesn't address purple shards until they specifically state that it does. As in, clearly, indisputably state it. The quoted line is not clearly stating "you'll be able to craft a Notice of the Well from normal Incarnate shards." And until they say *exactly* that, as far as I can see the rare boosts are still locked behind mandatory team content.
Quote:In issue 20, you will be able to craft all abilities from the Incarnate trees that are available via Incarnate Trials using Incarnate Shards and some INF. It will take longer than it will take getting components via the trials, but you will be able collect the shards as you play everything(!) else in the game to offset that. If you mix in the occasional Incarnate Trial you will make more progress. -
Quote:I think the lower amount of people necessary to start the raid means they are planning on "Time Spent In Queue" being relatively minor.Of course, and I agree with that.
But in it's current form, it also makes solo missions impossible too. That's not okay. For people that don't have all day to play, you need to get as much done in as little time as possible. I wouldn't go so far as to say most people don't have time to just stand around, but I'm sure a good portion don't.
As someone who has been through a similar process in a similar game, I can say that I was never in a queue for longer than it took to check an auctionhouse or actually walk to the entrance of said raid. -
Quote:I've always been an optimist about the game (Recluse Strike Force the exception that proves the rule). When the devs added purple recipes and adjusted MoG, I'm pretty sure they broke EvilGeko.
Wait, Taser is an optimist now? I need to go lie down.
I've just been a pessimist about these forums. -
-
-
No, you are just assuming it doesn't address the concern because it's easier to be pessimistic than optimistic.

I'm just going to leave this here...
Quote:For our more casual players, we have added an option for you to continue to build your way up the Incarnate Tree by collecting Incarnate Shards without doing any Incarnate Trials--you will even get Incarnate Shards when you are exemplared down. It will take longer than it will take by participating in Incarnate Trials, and youll miss out on some epic storylines, but you will be able to claim your seat at the Incarnate table nevertheless. -

I don't see why it would be too hard to do (unless adding all these new variables drastically increases the amount of data that needs to be transferred between the server and clients, but I don't foresee that being the case), so I'd definitely add shoulder details to the list. You see plenty of asymmetrical shoulder pads in superhero costumes, like Cable's Civil War battle suit.
-
Definitely would love to see this. I'd even go so far as to add a permanent left/right arm category in the costume creator for all characters so you can set them independently if you want.
I would also like to see left/right hand, too, so you can have a gauntlet or a glove on one hand and a regular other hand... or even a monstrous/zombie hand of power.
Things like the Spring Fling toga not allowing my blaster to keep his robot arm really limits costume options.
More costume selection options can only help the game and can help up that number of unique costumes possibly with the costume creator for the marketing team to flaunt. -
-
Great ideas, but can I take on an idea of my own?
Origin Respecification... or Origin Retcons.
Especially now with Incarnates, this option is needed more than every. Both my main hero and main villain have origins that don't match what their characters eventually became after 50 levels of playing them. When I first started Friggin' Taser, I had him down as a natural hero. As I built his powers more and more around a robotic arm, it's obvious that he should be tech. And now that he's an incarnate, that complicates things even more.
It'd be nice if, around level 30 or so, the trainer lets you know that you can go to a "Lorekeeper" on either side of the game that has been keeping track of your career and, with the right amount of influence or infamy, you can convince him or her to "change" the recorded beginnings of your character, effectively changing your origin. -
With the new alignment system and incarnates/Strike Targets taking up more and more time, I think it's time we have a realistic and rational rethinking of the Disruptor badge. When all other epic badge limits were dropped down into more rational territory, the 400 rep badge was kept where it was.
With PvP the way it currently is on most servers, the only way to truly get this badge, it seems, it via Rep Farms, which I feel are against the very nature of this badge. I'd love to see the badge changed into something a little more situational, such as "kill an opponent who killed you before the Rep Timer resets," making it more like an Xbox Live achievement or one of the new objection-based Master of badges. -
While servers aren't back up yet, I downloaded and applied the hotfix patch and it corrected any loading issues into the login screen I was having before yesterday.
-
-
Most likely not. I haven't updated my drivers in months and was fine before the patch and then long loading after.
-
What's odd is once I get past the new 4-6 minute loading and actually log in, the game seems to be about the same as it was before in terms of mapserve loading.
-
I am, too.
In fact, once I force quit out of the "loading" graphic and reloaded the patcher and started verifying files to see if that could fix it. About 10 minutes later the login screen for the first loading graphic popped up... even though I had a second patcher up. -
I started a thread about this happening on Pinnacle about a month ago, starting when the Winter Event hit.
I have a feeling it's directly tied with the Winter Event and will most likely go away when the switch is flipped on Winter Lords/presents. -
And it was just announced that the manga is now being made into an upcoming anime series.
It looks like someone over in Japan must have remembered this manga around the same time as I did.
