  1. Hello everyone!

Yesterday, I hopped onto Zukunft and played "The Ziggurat Taskforce" by Dark Eye. Fun was had by all, as we rushed into the Zig to ... uh ... reacquaint inmates with their cells and retrieve barrels of a special breed of Superadine! The variety of enemies was truly staggering, and there was a special appearance by the author! Thanks to all who joined me!

  2. The Intrepid Informer is back, with Issue #8, where Matt "Positron" Miller tells us more about Mission Design! Matt will be picking up where John "Protean" Hegner left off, giving you all, in his words "some more insight into the process we use to design missions and Story Arcs"!

You can find this issue here!

  4. I guess my biggest issue with the list is one of principle. There are so many great works of Science Fiction, and so many great works of Fantasty that have been written. The two are so often lumped together, but I personally think they're different. It might be better to have a Science Fiction 10/100 list, and a Fantasy 10/100 list. that would certainly have made picking easier for me.

  5. Hello everyone! The next test will be on Monday, August 8, from 11:00am PDT (2:00pm EDT; 7:00pm BST; 20:00 CEST) to 1:00pm PDT (4:00pm EDT; 9:00pm BST; 22:00 CEST) for our European community and again from 5:00pm PDT (8:00pm EDT, 1:00am BST; 02:00 CEST) to 7:00pm PDT (10:00pm EDT; 3:00am BST; 04:00 CEST) for our North American players. We’ll see you all on the Training Room! Our first stress test was instrumental in helping us resolve a bug that was causing mapserver crashes, and we’re very grateful to everyone who showed up and participated!

The Paragon Community Team will of course be present for the stresstest, and we’ll be running Trials. Afterwards, we’ll be randomly awarding some costume codes to a few lucky players in Pocket D, so be sure to come by and have fun!

Well I think the issue with Frankenstein is that it isn't really a new story either. The same story has been told for a long time. It's called the modern Prometheus for a reason :-). Ultimately, though, (and this is a principle one of my professors was a big fan of) all stories have been told before, so maybe this is a moot point.

  7. Picking one favorite book is hard. Picking ten is only marginally less so. I also tried to put influential books in there. For example "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" and its film version, Blade Runner. While the book itself may not have been so influential, the movie was undeniably so. Neuromancer was also revolutionary. Tolkien got in just on principle. I think I ended up putting in Dune, although it was a difficult choice. While the first book is undeniably a masterpiece, the later books aren't at the same level. Iain M Banks with his Culture novels are also really interesting, much in the same way that Foundation is. It's tough to deal with large time-periods and great distances in space without encountering too many difficulties or stumbling over your own feet.

  9. Hi Master,

Dies sollte bald aufgelöst werden. Ein Build wurde gerade auf den Test-Server geladen.

    Hello everyone,

There was an unexpected network issue that caused a number of our services to be inaccessible. These issues should be resolved now.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

    Thank you,

  11. Congratulations! That's quite a journey!

  13. Hello everyone,

I'd like to ask that you keep this post on-topic. Baselessly accusing people of a crime is not appropriate for the City of Heroes Forums, nor is name-calling or other forms of disrespect.

    Thank you,

It's "I, Robot" all over again...

  20. As of Thursday, 4 August 2011, the City of Heroes launcher will no longer be supported. After this date players will only be able to launch the game through the NCsoft Launcher, or through the Steam platform. If you haven’t already, now would be a great time to download the NCsoft Launcher! On average, players will experience faster downloads and increased usability with the NCsoft Launcher over the City of Heroes launcher. In addition, you’ll also receive the exclusive Wisps aura in-game for downloading and using the NCsoft launcher!

If you have any questions regarding the NCsoft Launcher, our F.A.Q. is available here.

If you can’t find an answer to your question , please don’t hesitate to use our Support page or our Issues & Bugs forums.

  23. These are neat ideas! Although personally, given how common purse-snatchers are in Paragon City, I'm amazed people still carry them...

    Also, yay saving cats!

  24. Oh please, not everyone wants to be a goody two-sh...

um, I mean ... everyone has their, uh, distinctive play style, and I'm sure there will be interest in, er, the less ... shall we say, community-oriented gameplay available.

    Um, yeah, *scurries off*

  25. Hi Sermon,

This is an interesting suggestion. I'll take a look, and see if I can find out anything more for you.

    Best,
