  1. More like sponsored. And it's not like Malta isn't controlled by Nemesis. (note: joke)

I discussed Sky Raiders with a friend yesterday and we concluded that the following changes would make the group more interesting.

    1) Remove all human minions. Replace them with robotic drones of various kinds; a force field generator, a gun drone, etc.

    2) Make the former human minions into lieutenants. Make jump bots into lieutenants. Make Captains into bosses.

    3) Remove sky skiffs from regular spawns. Let sky skiffs be part of special spawns for outdoors locations only.

    4) Let the new Captain bosses summon paratroopers (human minions arriving by parachute) and robotic minions like masterminds. Give Captains more machete attacks and give them dual pistols once that's available.

    5) Introduce "mine fields", pre-deployed as part of spawns. Nearly invisible for unenhanced perception, these immobile underlings simply explode when stepped upon. Just like mines from Traps or Devices.

    6) Change all Sky Raider weaponry into a high-tech light-weight arsenal to promote the idea of flying pirates. One idea was a lightning-gun similar to a Malta Sapper's gun but with less end drain and more damage.

Now they are more like mid-level Malta and their lore can be altered to represent this. Maybe Nemesis loses interest in the Sky Raiders once his involvement is exposed as part of the story, and the Raiders turn to Malta for support, which means that they will get a stronger anti-supers agenda, which in turn will give the Raiders a more interesting motivation than simple piracy and mercenary activities.
  2. Ripping out the foundation...?

    They're merging the markets!

    My AE baby

I've got a bunch of arcs in my signature and even more if you search for @Fred in the MA. I always like more people to play my stuff.

Repeating the same unsupported argument over and over doesn't help either.

You keep talking about this as if you know what happens to them.

Jack Emmert was. No idea if anyone else is or if they just keep going with the setting as he left it.
  11. Not to mention that they needed a good explanation for why there aren't more supers in Praetoria. An explanation which only contradicted the explanation we had already been given by lying ignorant NPCs ("Tyrant and his Praetorians killed all the other supers.") a little bit instead of wholesale, while still allowing for PC supers to be created in Going Rogue.

So the explanation now is that if you're not a 90-percenter in the supers program you escape to Earth Prime at level 20, and that's why there aren't as many supers on Praetorian Earth as on Earth Prime when we fight them in the level 40+ arcs.

The remaining 10% are Mother Mayhem's psychos, Bobcat's catbois, Dominatrix' gimps, etc.
  12. You might have better luck playing that one solo anyway. It had a way of delivering plot and dialogue which didn't mesh well with a team and huge battles.

    EU MA Superteam

You can get to RWZ at level 1 now. Heroes have it easy, villains slightly more difficult. As usual.
  14. Best New Story Arc

    2nd choice: @Clave Dark 5 Against the WickerWork Khan! #346904, 1 point.

    Best New Author

    1st choice: @Celestial Nemesis, 2 points.

    2nd choice: @Sister Twelve, 1 point.
  15. In my house it's Winter-een-mas all year round. I don't need a phony season to play games.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't remember hearing "90% fatality", just that 90% of the supers are never seen in Praetoria again. Instead they are presumed to be off fighting the good fight abroad to keep everyone else safe, making the ultimate sacrifice, etc etc.
  17. Why not make a competition out of it? Have everyone who wants to participate make their own War Witch TF and then you or someone else can pick the best of the lot. Bug the devs to DC the arc you picked and it'll be as close to official as you can get.

I clearly remember the signed treaties and declarations. I have copies right here, and photos and video documentation.

There was no Arachnos back then so they needed a "pure evil" group for us to fight at level 40+. Now that we have the bumbling clown-like evil of Lord Recluse they decided to flesh out the Praetorians by turning them into all kinds of shades of grey.

I thought the evil universe thing kinda sounded cool and had characters ready for it. I just don't understand why it had to be more the "reluctant leader" thing over what was established. I know this kinda post is hitting on old news but after reading the background of Tyrant, it made me think to bring this up.
There wasn't really that much "established" before. What little we (the players) knew about Praetoria and Tyrant was told to us by people who had little reason to tell us the truth; Maria Jenkins, Unai Kemen, the Freedom Phalanx. They either don't know the truth themselves or they didn't see a reason to tell us that Tyrant is in fact also protecting his world and the people in it from total annihilation mostly by his own awesome self.

Before the background I thought the jerk wanted to somehow grab for power in a world that had no real leadership or order to him, and morality was almost nonexistent in his mind ( like Rorschach), I got that impression after 6 issues of the comic series and when opportunity knocked to shape the world with his ideals of right and wrong he was all over it.
Pretending to not want a position of power is the first step you need to take in order gain the trust of the fools who will elect you. It's almost like a natural law by now.

Why do we need another hero we need to relate to on some level? Whats wrong with just having an universe that is just evil or Age of Apocalypse verse?
Tyrant seems like a hero to you? You've got a weird concept of heroics. Having a universe that is "evil" is silly. Just as silly as if your personal morality somehow would dictate what kind of superpowers you would have access to. Now that's ridiculous!

The primal Earth is more clearly divided between good and evil. Praetoria is more like the real world where people aren't always pure good or pure evil but can be more or less of both at the same time.

  21. What's that guy's problem with tankers and why does he care if you play one?
  22. I think you're on to something here. Not a bad observation at all.
  23. I'm dictating character decisions now and then to make the character seem competent and smart. Compared to how we are portrayed in most of the "real" villain arcs in CoV at least.

    One A Day

    Thanks for the review!

Just a quick comment: the other VEAT arcs I've made aren't connected, and the other NutriPaste arc I made has been unpublished - they weren't sequels, really. "A Taste For Evil" was always intended as a replacement for "The Secret of NutriPaste".

"Taste" needs some more work, though. At the time when I was working on it I was really sick of it, to be honest, since I had made two arcs with a similar premise in quick succession. I will revisit it when I'm done with my level 40-50 VEAT arc, or sooner if that takes longer than I expect.
