Quote:Dude. We are of one mind.6) Immediately begin begging for new "Prestige Walk" emotes like Saunter, Strut, Sashay and Mosey.
Of course, we do share a birthday, so I blame that! -

Quote:Maybe I misunderstood, but it seemed to me that he was asking, "What can devs do to make it [the game] interesting?" So I tossed in my own list of opinions. Why does everyone think I am disappointed at the devs? I may feel they are slacking, but hey, it's their game, not mine. Last time I checked I still pay to play. My thoughts are things I think it would be nice to see. But still, all in all, who cares? I play because of friends I have had here for over 4 years. That alone is what keeps me: an online family.
And really, how are you guys positive when you tell someone, "We understand, but your point sucks" (Not you, Vega)? But in general, I think that if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. You should add your point of view, not put down someone else's. Of course, in this case you were asking if I responded to the post correctly. It was the "be positive" afterwards that caught me; I didn't see anything negative. These are points of view only; I still couldn't care less. -
Quote:Level 50 content was confirmed as existing, and Marketing forbade the devs to say anything about it until GR got closer to beta.I see that level 50 content is not a priority. Oh well, I guess I should look into DCUO, huh?
Guess you should look into getting some patience, huh? -
Quote:I don't remember which panel it was, but Ouroboros was asked about. They said that Ouro (as an organization) wasn't necessarily in Praetoria, but Positron did say that there would be a way to flashback to Praetorian contact in some way.
- What Ouroboros will Rogue/Vigilante characters enter? How will they access the "other side" arcs?
I don't know about the Ouro connections when they're in Paragon/the Rogue Isles though. -
Oh, me too! I'm just allowing for the possibility that there are different levels of "difficulty" that could be meant in the switching-sides sense.
Plus, mass-teleporter accident? Really? Yeah, the existing SoA storyline isn't fabulous, but it's cohesive genius compared to something like that. -
Quote:*shrug* I guess we differ on what a "challenge" is then. Also, difficult and time-consuming are two different things. It might not be hard in the STF or Hami sense to switch sides, but still be time consuming. It's supposed to be a gradual change. For SoA it makes perfect sense, they get sent on a portal mission on their first day on the job and end up there by accident. As for as HEATs dont really know how to explain it, dont care to because I dont play them much. As for as the devs not making it simple part they will. Thats because they have dumbed down just about everything else in the game except for 3 challenges, thats STF, LSF, and Hami. So looking at past history, I can see them doing this easily.
-
I'm curious, why is this? You don't think it should be a "path" to take? I mean, this is a MMORPG...why would it be bad design to base side-switching in a roleplaying framework?
-
Quote:*sigh* For the 27 millionth time, you WILL be able to move HEATs and VEATs to the opposite sides. Just not from day 1. Which, frankly, makes perfect sense. What on earth would a Soldier of Arachnos be doing in Praetoria at the beginning of their career? And as for Khelds, do they even exist natively in Praetoria? I'd say not. What? Logic? How shocking! And what is the justification that you cant move VEATs or the epic phail HEATs to the other sides? I could careless about the failure of a storyline that is the SoA/Kheld storyline.
Quote:Knowing how the devs do things, they will dumb this thing down to the point where an empathy defender with no other powers in the secondary can solo the arc with just brawl. Just wait and see its going to be uber easy to side switch. Which to me cheapens the whole experience and another reason why they need to just allow you to pick from any of the ATs starting out on any side you want. -
Quote:Not quite. The progression would go Praetorian->Rogue/Vigilante->Villain/Hero. And the devs made it clear that no step of the process would be able to be "by accident", but that you would be able to make the clear choice of either transitioning completely or staying on your current path.1) Lets say you make a Praetorian character and you decide to be a hero. Then you operate like a Hero, you go to Paragon City. From there, you can stay hero, or go vigilante, or completely shift to villain.
Example: You're a vigilante who's strayed a little far over into the dark side. You would get a clear choice before becoming a Villain whether or not to take that path completely or stay a Vigilante. -

Quote:From what I remember, when you create a new character you can start as a "Hero", a "Villain", or a "Praetorian". You can create any of the 10 core ATs as Praetorians (not EATs) and they will go through 1-20 content in Praetoria where they will eventually choose their side and come to Paragon/the Rogue Isles as Rogues or Vigilantes.Ok what about this, when you first create the character and choose the archtype are you still stuck starting as villain if you are villain AT. Like will it be possible to start as a brute in paragon but be fully Hero and never have to go thru all those extra hoops? That to me is whats going to make or break the system. Either way it goes you guys need to reconsider the thing on not merging the markets because its going to come back to bite you in the butt at a later time. Mark my words.
So, you could create a brute Praetorian and take them along the redeeming path to being a hero, without ever visiting the Rogue Isles. You could not, however, create a hero brute that would start in Paragon without ever going to Praetoria.
Edited to add: existing EATs would be able to switch sides if they are above X level (not yet disclosed) and go through a series of moral choice missions. -
It's the period at the end of the thread title. Makes it seem sarcastic. To me, at least. *squints*

There is so much CoH/V stuff in that comic book store. The last time I rewatched one of them, I noticed a City of Villains belt buckle and T-shirt along with the two cardboard cutouts (one for CoH and one for CoV), the Freem! shirt, and the Statesman shirt Captain Sweatpants is wearing.
I giggled like a maniac for a full 5 minutes -- it's so awesome! -
Quote:School starting alone would explain this (Hmm, when does school start? Oh, right -- late August/early September). Cyclical. Happens every year. They are still *active subscribers*, however. The decline is based on my observations of the server loads - all light since late Aug.
And thinking you can measure anything with any amount of precision based on a green dot versus a yellow dot is absurd. -
Quote:I'd call it 'tunnel vision/intense focus', myself. Unless a Virgo pissed you off lately, maybe, and it was Scorpio-vengeance kicking in?I'm not sure if forgetfulness is a weakness of Scorpios but I AM sure that temporary insanity is a strength... so we'll just blame it on that.

Ah, final report: Got Cassandra Grey, my mind/kin troller on Protector, from 28 to 36.9 - within striking distance of FS now!
ETA: Oh, and laughed hysterically when hubby sold some Halloween salvage on the market for insane amounts of influence (tens of millions)...in the middle of October. Is it really that hard to wait a couple of weeks and trick-or-treat for it? I guess if you have the inf to spend... -
Quote:As a fellow Scorpio, I love this (*intensely*)! So perfect...
Scorpios and Brutes are a near-perfect fit because most Scorpios have Fury Bars too. -
If your enjoyment of MA arcs is dependent on them providing double rewards, then yes, you'll have to stick with old content for this weekend.
I'm disappointed that (according to Posi's GMOTD) this is a bug and not WAI, personally. -
93.94%. And I now have a persistent twitch behind my left eye from reading all those typos. Gah.
I probably missed the aggro cap question. And the whole 'until issue 13' for the scrapper powersets had me going: wait, what? -
Quote:We are getting something new for Halloween this year. Behold:I really wouldn't be surprised if the devs didn't do anything this Halloween that they didn't do last year; Unseelie Court, Jack/Eochai, Trick-or-Treating.
They just seem so very eager to get the next Issue and Going Rogue out so very quickly that they're not bothering with seasonal content like holiday events.
But that's just my theory.

Stay tuned for more info, I'll get it to you guys as soon as we've confirmed the details internal
