That chance is per card, not per pack.

It's still not good, but it's 5 times better than you're making out.
That math doesn't make any sense.

Each pack has 3 common, 1 rare, 1 very rare card (or at least, that's what we've been shown so far). Unless I'm missing something here I thought every pack was built this way?

Are you saying that there's a chance of getting 5 very rare cards in a pack? What are the chances of a card being a 'very rare'?

Or are you saying that there's a 0.08% chance a card will be both a 'very rare' AND be a 'black wolf'?

    ---

Assuming there's a chance of getting 5 very rares in a pack:

(Chance of a very rare being wolf) 0.08% = 1 in 1250 - which is incredible bad.

(5 times that in best possible outcome) 5 in 1250 = 1 in 250 - which is still incredibly poor.

    ---

I really, really, really, really don't like these packs.

    ---

The odds are good for -someone- in the game owning it. The odds are good for -several people- owning it. The odds that a particular person could own it are incredibly poor.
  2. "Trust us".

    Huh... yeah.

    ...

This better be incredibly well written.

That doesn't apply in this case, because in that case you're talking about attempting to reverse a transaction that was already completed. In this case NCSoft does not have to reverse that transaction: they could just disable Titan Weapons at any time for any reason or no reason. They could delete any characters made with that set for any reason or no reason.
Whilst I'm pretty sure there's clauses in their Terms of Service (or name of their choice) to allow them these powers, it would be a very poor business decision to use these powers on 12 people that just happened to buy the item before it was taken off the shelves again.

It'd be a community relations nightmare to handle once news got out, and they'd have to spend more time and effort to put it right with the community to avoid losing faith.

Much easier to just let those 12 keep it, and possibly offer an 'upgrade' to the fixed version at a later time.
  4. I agree it's a spoiler, and should be kept out of the title of the topic. As spoilers go it's not a massive one and it's not game changing, but it's impolite to put spoilers in topic titles.
  5. Well, it illustrates with the right lighting, posing and captions every image can be used to convey a meaning that's fitting with the caption.

...I mean, I'm not sure what else you were planning to illustrate? That all heroes should be in action poses and bright colours? I mean... your second image actually contradicts the first and third in that respect.

All I see is 6 very different takes on the term "Hero". Which is what the game is about, City of Heroes.

Please don't use "we want", "we need", "we deserve" or anything like that unless you are a nominated respresentative of a group and identified as such. It's just poor form to speak for other people, especially on broad declarations and demands/requests. It is perfectly acceptable to use "I want", "I need", "I deserve"; we're not going to blame you for being a niche/person in your own right.

Who was it that said that truly good parody is indistinguishable from the extreme view of a die-hard?

Must wake up and stop being so dense.
  6. Clearly I arrived at 9.16pm. >.> Sorry about that Shad, I got distracted with writing.

PMs going out to people now, will grab Shikky to clear Brie's part too.

First part will go up now of the finale, the second part is pending the replies to PMs.

Would have been doing all this yesterday, but boards were down!

Would the miniature version of the player also have the bubble helmet with the miniature version of the player in it, which would also have the bubble...

    Costum-ception!
  8. Yes! Any time you're ready for RP, one of my characters will be around and ready to go (RL permitting here too, but I rarely turn down RP!). Just give us a shout over the forums beforehand so I know where/when to show up .
  9. I have the distinct feeling that the reason they've never had a problem with the Male > Huge thing is because they've seen Huge as just "Male 2", and therefore acceptable for Male pieces by default.

Hopefully the language now will change to...

"We're making a costume piece, and it will fit all three body types".

And genders will be pushed to the back burner. Not forgotten, but not used as a marketting ploy.

Sorry for the double post, but something just occurred to me. If there is a feeling that women need more skirts, thigh-high high-heel boots and corsets... Well, that's just fine. Make a set that's a lot of that. Call it... I don't know. High fashion? Cosplay? Whatever you call it, just make a whole set that's mostly that and get it all out of the way in one big clump. Throw in a few jackets, pants and pairs of sensible shoes and you're pretty much golden.

This would also be the perfect opportunity to give men a few more regular articles of clothing. Maybe a few pairs of shoes, a few pairs of shorts, some more t-shirts, maybe a jacket or two that isn't uniform or suit, like a baseball jacket or a Elvis jacket or maybe an actual long coat. Maybe a non-veteran trenchcoat? Some blouses might be in order, too, and we have only a single cardigan that I'm aware of, if it's not actually a woven vest. Maybe a turtleneck or two.
Actually, what I'd like to see is a removal of the Showgirl costume from the Gunslinger pack, and it replaced with an actual female Gunslinger set.

Then open up costume sets like the Showgirl, and street clothes, and casual wear, and clothes that don't fit in sets as -single items-.

    THEN...

Have "Mix and Match" sets options, where you purchase the set item, then get to pick 4/5 items to create your own costume bundle. You still get the benefit of a discount, and you can price the single items higher because the 'bundle' option exists.

Then just release costume sets that don't fit into a male/huge/female set as single items... and let us choose to buy them.

Like we were led to believe we could when this system was announced. I mean this "A la carte" system is turning into "Pick the meal deal you want". And that's a shame! It's avoidable!

I'm pretty sure for a professional community manager that goes without saying.

However there are very clear opportunities to please a much larger group of people than they are pleasing, whilst not upsetting anyone extra/new.

No-one's saying do things to the detriment of the existing sets. They want additional options, and changes that allow more options.

If that's the case, then the disparity is an even worse state for the game. You mean to say that the work is done for Male, and Huge, but no-one bothers for Female and they just do their own 'unique' set for them?

How about doing an actual "Gunslinger" Female set, then adding that to the set.

Pull the "Showgirl" look, and do a "That's the Ticket!" set, which features Showgirl and 'Showguy' sets for Male and Huge.

And then do that as costume sets from now on. So that we can actually pick sets A la Carte from the store -like was promised-. Stop deciding for us what can be on the menu for a gender.
  14. As I've said already, I fully support this idea and definitely think it can work. Might take us a little while to get into the swing of things, so basing it on a definite day until we're settled and then "as and when" later is another good idea.

Beyond that... see you for missions!
  15. Oh no no no no... that was -Issa's- Laptop. Theo would never had put something electrical of his own so close to falling in a fountain.

  16. Last night:

Squish's new facial hair and tough guy look was completely ruined by Brie.

He did get to see Helena and forgave Richard for not telling him what happened though. There was also talk of Thanksgiving tomorrow and how awesome everything is going to be.

Then Squish arranged with Ellie to buy something from her shop for Brie as a Thanksgiving present. He didn't really want to go into Skyway very far, but Ellie agreed to meet him at the station and get him around. He plans to surprise Brie with the dress as a present during Thanksgiving dinner.

As well as bringing a jar of cranberry sauce. Because he's classy like that.
  17. Can't help it - having them separated by force gives me such great material!

Anyway... Yes I can make either day/time most likely. Just give me a shout and I'll be around. Either as Theo or Squish, as they're the most likely to survive demonic fire, and be present... and it just depends on if we need extra tanking or not.

  18. Her use of the Absence Stone pendant gave me a great idea... well, reminded me of something that might be useful to people.

Considering there's that "Fizzler"... Toppa's given two out as gifts now. A piece of Artifact Stone that absorbs any heat/light and bursts into a shower of harmless sparkles... each would be one use though.

    ETA -

Okay, it's much later in the evening now and I'm feeling quite unwell. Not sure what it is but I'm hoping the medicine cabinet's contents sorted the symptoms. I'll try my best to be on later for Maynia's mission with Jane, otherwise I may have to miss it. Sorry!
  19. Bet that felt incredibly satisfying.

Poor Tam was at the statue last night, looking completely lost and on the verge of tears several times (and, crying several times too). He'd gathered from the firefighters in the Kings Row dept that it was a gas explosion, and that meant the possibility it was his fault.

Everyone reassured him, and Richard complimented him on his ability to hold himself together.

There was also carrot cake to cheer him up from Rauri and Helena, after Tam said that Rauri would have been a target if Sha'Atael was going after Shanna's friends and support - but her twin was fine.

Richard also pointed out that Cassandra should have been a primary target too... so the heroes were a little uneasy as to what was going on exactly.

Alona promised to poke her head in and see that the apartment wasn't looted over night on her patrol. Tam thanked everyone profusely for their help, and agreed to stay at the mansion for a couple of days until he could start fixing stuff up.

Then he walked over to the mansion to have a long cry (in relief that the apartment was open, but sorrow that he's alone) in private.

    Today:

Tam, Shanna and Keevan head over to the apartment to check it out and look over the damage. PMs to them going out in a minute with the evidence they can find there.

Shikky, if you're here - would Alona have gone into the apartment? She might have found something as well if so!
  20. Thanks Z! I forsee kipping on sofas whilst apartment is fixed up... But what fate awaits Toppa?

ETA - Actually, on second thought it makes more sense for Tam to stay with Alexia and Mar, but as (if I remember right) Tam was going to help Jacob with decorating the new apartment, a swapsie of decorating and restoration would be most welcomed!

Especially with all Tam's weights equipment being disturbed... all that artifact stone destroyed... oooh dear.
  21. Sorry! Yes! They were there too. Robyn had picked up a dog from (somewhere I forget) and it was adorable but she sent it home quickly. She then disappeared off to do (something I forget) but Mar did comment that really she should get to see the book too, because her work started them off on this mission to save the Trollkin.

The Alona was about, but didn't stay long into the discussion of the demon. She was keeping her head down.

    ------------

    And.. story piece up.

Mwahahaha. Mine is an evil laugh cubed... plus one. or two now.
  22. Night Before:

Toppa tried to comfort Richard, or at least help explain what was going on because Toppa got there first and Richard said he would struggle to keep repeating himself. Of course, Richard did tell each person that arrived anyway.

Also, Alice gave Toppa an absolutely kicking mustard and beef coloured stripey scarf.

And then Toppa put the idea in people's heads that maybe Sha'Atael was going after trackers.

    Last Night:

Mar tried his best to cheer people up, and showed around the scrap book of all the letters and cards the SWAT rebels families had sent in for the Heroes (not knowing how to thank them.) This didn't work all too well, as Keevan was distracted, Ellie seemed even more distracted, Kumi disappeared and Rauri was having his arm healed.

Also, then he and Wrench had a long chat about Longbow (LUNGBOW!) and Wrench's likes/dislikes in joining teams.
  23. Be back soon Z! Rest's always a good plan.

At least be back in time to see Toppa in his new scarf .

I'll try to make the mission too. Probably on Squish.
  24. Quote:
As seen in the IC thread, I can be a bit mean too. EvilFea and myself had intended that to occur over the next few nights but, with Toppa onto the fact that she was after the trackers, the timing had to be accelerated. Toppa's to blame(!)
    Mwahahahaha.

Mine is an evil laugh. Twinged with... bode.
  25. Oh dear oh dear, it appears we have another Meanie incident.

I can see a pattern here... developing. *sherlock moment*

Aha! It's PLOT! Of course. Elementary my dear Watson.
