Quote:Sam has shown me the LIGHT! Praiselujah Hallelord!Interestingly, I agree with PK in turning off reputation. In my experience with this version and with the stars we used to have, "reputation" systems really aren't representative of actual reputation, because people have to go out of their way to vote. As a result, it's a lot easier to get very high reputation with a good joke thread than it is with a lifetime of doing small, helpful things, and it's a lot easier to get very low reputation by holding an unpopular opinion, however justified it may be. Most posters with any meaningful amount of posts (from when reputation is introduced on) will have average reputation (if any at all) because they've been exposed to too many of both instances.
Realistically speaking, no-one outside of posters with ACTUAL reputation, like Samuraiko, Arcanaville, Philotic Knight and so on, are going to have anything close to meaningful reputation, and at that point we may as well rely on good old-fashioned "people know and respect this person," rather than a numerical representation of votes. -
ROFL! At least one person is scrolling thru dead threads looking for things to ding with neg rep. I just got one on a post I made a couple months ago. How sad is that?
Someone needs to get out of their parents basement and get a life cuz I'm certain I've offended people a lot more recently than that.

Quote:I pos rep people I think don't deserve bad rep, and PK because it annoys him.I think we should just remove the whole system so we don't get numerous "BAN PEOPLE FOR NEG REPPING!" posts and "REP ME AND I'LL REP U BAK!" posts.
I have yet to neg rep anyone because anyone I think deserves a neg rep isn't worth the effort it takes to give them neg rep. Why waste a neg rep on some scmuck when I can give approval to someone else. -
I wouldn't mind more slots per server but you won't get a second account you can transfer vet rewards to.

I believe that when you see the name empty it's because the account has been banned after the email was sent to you.

I think the one you want is called Miyuki Gravel (or something gravel) colored blue. If you want the ripply water effect then you need to use the slow field.
-
I got a neg rep because someone apparantly doesn't like the pic in my sig. I figure if that's the only thing they can think of to dislike about me, then I must be doing pretty darn good.

HOODY-HOO! I got a neg rep because someone doesn't like the pic in my sig! SWEET!

Quote:Not scary? You obviously haven't seen yourself when your not wearing pants.... That's hellishly funny. If Grey rep means the people have their rep turned off, it's just a wonderful, wonderful example of cowardly criticism. I've never been positively repped by a grey, but I have been negatively repped.
I hope that's true. It'd just cement my worldview about the people giving me -rep.
While we're at it, for any of you who fancy ever criticising me, and you don't think it'd work out well in public, or can't find an appropriate place to do it - feel free to PM me. I'm not nearly as scary as you might think.

What does grey rep mean? I have some red, some green and 1 gray.

Quote:Then how did I get a mission in the woods just a few weeks ago? I'll admit it was on a level 20 character, but it was still in the woods.A few issues ago, one of the quality of life improvements was redesignating all the Perez Park mission doors so that none were in the forest maze.
It's still a good QoL that they changed most of the mission doors. -
I remember when people ran TF's just to get the badges.

Also in the beginning didn't the most populated servers automatically list at the top of the server list?

Quote:It wasn't a complaint, it was an observation of cause and effect. To be a complaint I would have had to have expressed a grievance or resentment. You can't really complain about someone leveling in the AE only when he is trying to do a bank mission in Faultline. You have to have done a certain number of newspaper missions -in Faultline- to get offered the mission. You cannot be lv 50 and get it ( I think technically you can if you use Oro but that takes a -lot- of knowledge to do that ). Come on guys, just help the new guy who wants to learn the game.

The mission you want is behind the wall. I hate those missions and rarely do Faultline because of them. There is a door to get you behind it, but know how to describe how to get there easily. Perhaps one of the other vets can help you if they can get of the AE-complaint bandwagon. -
It's an exaggeration. Yes, we had these requests before the AE but since the AE there has been a surge of them because we now have a larger number of new players that spent the majority of their gameplay doing AE content rather than regular content. That's the way things are now.
