What I WON'T do is be forced to play on different servers. I want my characters in the SG I've worked so hard to build, to play with the friends I've made, on the server I enjoy.

I do NOT want to have to delete characters to do that.

Now I've still got six empty slots on Virtue, but my wife is all out. We don't want to lose any of her characters, and yes she does play all of them.

I'd also be willing to pay for the same thing.

I agree that no one should be forced to play on a server they don't want to play on. However I doubt many people play all 36 characters on their main server with the same frequency. I applaud the people that do manage it.

I have retired characters and moved them to other servers rather than delete them. Not all of them were 50's, I just realized I was playing them less and less. So I moved them to make room for fresh ideas. My retired characters can always be brought back when decide to play them again.

Another benefit is when the occasional server goes down, maybe there's an issue with the west coast servers, maybe my servers down due to overpopulation. Whatever, having some retired alts on other servers means I can still play without being forced to roll up a new level 1 character.

We've all seen heroes & villains alike helped in movies, cartoons, games and comics alike helped by someone. Many of these heroes & villains in these other media have uttered a phrase like "I owe you one" or "I'm in your debt". In this game, heroes & villains say these things, too ... except they never really "make good" on it, do they? Oh, sure, you can get a badge and maybe (if you're lucky) a recipe that doesn't suck too much. But, you go through a lot to help them. Would it be too much to ask that they help you?

Well, here's a proposal for how they CAN!

Make a temporary power, given after beating a certain challenge that helps a signature hero or villain, that makes that signature hero or villain come to your aid directly! That's right ... make a hero or villain your pet for a short while! Let's have any number of heroes or villains from Sister Psyche to Ghost Widow, or even Statesman or Lord Recluse themselves come to YOUR aid for helping them before!!

Simply make this reward a timed option (like other non-mastermind pets, of course), and make the time either constant throughout the selection of heroes/villains ... or adjusted to the tier of the hero/villain aiding you (e.g. someone like Stalwart gives you maybe 3 min, Dr. Aeon maybe 2 min, and Lord Recluse for 1 min). Obviously, if you use them with differing times by tier, leave their power and AI at their peaks.

Maybe you can collect these "favors" or maybe you can have only one at a time, whichever.

    Anyway, that's my suggestion/idea. Thoughts?

And that's what I felt was too powerful and gamebreaking. 8 people running around with Lord Recluse, Statesman, etc pets at full power.

When the game started we only had 88 character slots. Then they increased the number of slots to 132. Finally they gave us the ability to buy 264 additional slots which brings the total number of slots we can have on an account to 396.

That's almost 5 times the number of character slots that were available when the game started. We have nothing to ***** about.

They know that we will be upset if we have to delete toons. It is a small investment from their part.

Which is why they gave us the ability to buy server transfers. It's not their fault if some people are cheapskates.

So I have high hopes here.
I don't disagree that it would be nice, however don't get your hopes up. Every issue I see a couple people get themselves worked up over some desire they want in the game which doesn't happen. Then it's *****, whine, and moan that the devs hate us. Please don't become one of those people.

    Optional feature is cool.

This would be nice. I'm not getting my hopes up tho, as FW pointed out the big difference between GR and CoV is that CoV was originally intended to be an expanshalone.

    Much better.

This. Of all those powers I like throwing knives best so I take Natural most often.

When Targoth goes to the movies no one that got there before him is allowed to buy concessions or pick a seat first because it isn't fair if they get the fresher popcorn or choice seats just cuz they got there first.

I have to admit one of my favorite things about CO is their animations on their Acrobatics travel power. I would squee like an angst filled tween girl watching Twilight if we had similar animations here.

Roleplayers don't lack imagination and therefore don't have any problems coming up with original names.

I've never had any trouble coming up with names on Virtue, and I've never gotten a free rename token when I've transfered alts off of Virtue to make room for new characters.

So if the tag is invisible how do I tell one Black Jackal from the other 67 Black Jackals online?

Let's say I'm forming a TF and I have 2 spots left. Samuel_Tow joins and asks me to invite his friend Black Jackal. Sam and his friend aren't in the same zone as I am and when I search I find 11 Black Jackal's online. Unfortunately Sam's friend is the 6th person on the list and I have just pissed off 5 other players that accepted invites to the TF that I had to kick because they weren't the guy I wanted to invite.

What a great way to make friends in an MMO.

That's what the data showed.

Again, let me say this again: there aren't nearly as many "good" names tied up in characters susceptible to purges as people think. That's what all of the purges done so far have shown.

Well I think they should raise the level to 14 so they can include any character names on trial accounts that are over 6.

So far the Boosters have all been purely/largely cosmetic. Funny thing, that--aesthetics being in the eye of the beholder. So long as it doesn't affect anyone's gameplay, they don't have to buy it. So long as it makes my gameplay awesome looking, I do.
They don't call the game affecting releases "boosters". They call them "expansions".

Yeah you were obsessed with Moonlight Knight, not the girls dressed up like this.

Westley's Sailor Moon Halloween costume did scare the hell out of everyone that one year . . .

However, under the hood it would treat <charname>s as non-unique and <globalnames> as unique, meaning <charname> suddenly becomes more flexible. There are less issues in having unique globalnames since you only need one for multiple characters, making more potentially desirable globalnames available.

Obviously the issue then becomes about sending /tells to the correct player if you only used <charname>, which could be done in a number of ways (e.g. default to friends list first, default to last <charname> sent on this account, confirm correct target if conflicts exist, etc). That part requires a bit of thought, but it isn't insurmountable.

I'm not that bothered either way, but concerns about "ugly" naming conventions can certainly be worked around since they are just top-end cosmetics.

What a wonderful idea. Make it so players can't tell one Unsub from another. That way anyone can pretend to be you and act like a jerk thus ruining your good name and getting you ostracized from the gaming community.

Just what this game needs. Easier ways to grief and harass people.

Oh and good luck trying to convince people that you weren't the one acting like a jerk. You can't prove you were being impersonated. If the GM's did take action, they never tell anyone what steps they took.

Been thinking about what Niv said and if they can find a way for people to turn off their rep and not get any comments then it would only be fair that those people not be able to give anyone any rep if their rep is turned off.

Fair is fair. If your not going to play the rep game then you shouldn't be able to hide behind the grey jellybeans and still rep people.
