Glad you got in, and anger is understandable. I'm wondering if oyur crashing because your system has trouble with ultramode. If you can actually login to a character try turning off Ultra Mode and lowering the graphics settings.

Please understand that everyone understands and empathises with your situation but this is a weekend and I'm pretty sure you'll have to wait until Monday when people come back to work.

I truly hope this gets straightened out for you as quickly as possible.

Unless I'm in an area with tons of people running their powers all at once I've had very few hiccups in UM at max settings. Even when I'm on a team of MM's.

When the hiccups start I just turn down my settings and everything smooths out fine. This is the system I'm using, I need to save up for a new video card.

While it's true a rig like that has obvious faults, the tradeoff is that it turns a heavy weapon (the gun is closer to a .50 cal than an M-60) that would normally be a 2 man crewed weapon that gets set up in fixed positions to fire into a one man weapon most all the flexibility that comes with a single soldier being able to quickly deploy and change positions on a moments notice.

Imagine a group of hostiles behind a barricade in a building where the cover is enough to deter small arms fire. The heavy weapon on the gyroscopic boom arm could easily swing the weapon around the corner and fire thru the barricade while the gunner takes cover around the corner.

We already have devices like the corner shot that allow smaller weapons to shoot around corners.

I would agree that we don't need recipe storage, but I do have to wonder about you hoarding all this. It's your stuff to keep, of course, but if you have the mentality you do, it really doesn't make much sense.

My excuse for not emptying the salvage bins in the SG I inherited was that I was waiting to see in any of the founders were returning. After 2 years I finally decided I'd displayed enough loyalty and dumped over 12,000 pieces of base salvage on the market or converted the balance into invention salvage. (Their characters are still on the SG roster tho. I can't justify kicking them yet to myself.)

    Chainsaw

I want a gatlin chainsaw, where the entire chainsaws are self propelled, heat-seeking, laser guided, sabot ammunition.

Remember that rig Vasquez and what's-his-face used in Aliens? Well I want that to shoot chainsaws.

So no, it's not about "turning a tank into a brute or a scrapper into a stalker," it's about a whole new metagame.

Snow Globe, this is forum and I'm free to express my ideas. You may have your opinions on GR and why I shouldn't be posting right now this but there is nothing wrong with me laying my ideas on the table. I didn't start this thread guns blazing saying "we need this nao!!!11," and I certainly wasn't expecting the kind of responses I'm getting.

That's fine though, the devs are known to read these boards and I only hope that this offers them some ideas. Whether they choose to implement elements of this suggestion is up to them. If they don't like my idea that's fine too. What's more important to me is that the idea gets presented.
If you your main concern was to get your idea presented to the devs you would have simply PM'd them the suggestion. Instead you posted on the open forums hoping people would like the idea and help promote it. Now you're disappointed that your idea isn't getting the support you hoped for.

Good luck on your next suggestion, maybe it will be more popular.

Let me clarify myself then. I object to letting other players on the same server getting to use the same name. I don't object to player "A" reusing the ame name on his own account/server.

If he enables the filter that blocks all emails from people not on his friends/SG list(s) it won't matter if RMT sites are sending spam to his global. He'll only get emails from friends and SG members.

Eh. This game is so not at all like other MMOs that what others have done doesn't really apply.

Well, they're not doing that, either.

CoH has NEVER been about leveling to the top. That, in fact, is what draws a lot of people in...that it's not a race to the "top level" so you can get to the "good stuff" like the WoW model. People here play for a lot of different reasons, and those who play or don't because of where the level cap is are likely a minority.

Your speculation is both wrong and right. There will be no more levels. But there will be virtual/practical levels to make your character more powerful/efficient. The details are not available yet, but it's not just more "leveling up" in the standard fashion. These are things we know already as the devs told us.

Well, that's a factor in any MMO, really. They have promised tougher content in the Incarnate system to go along with the improvements, so it's not like you just get better and keep doing the same old missions faster.

You're actually wrong there, as the player-base is vastly diversified and you can't say any particular thing is "what people pay for".

You guys are a bunch of spoilsports. I was looking forward to watching Lonely's howls of frustrated anguish when GR goes live and he discovered they didn't raise the level cap like he's convinced himself is gonna happen.

I don't see the harm of posting an idea in the suggestions forum. I didn't know something like this could rattle your nerves so much, maybe my next post will have pictures of dozens of bunnies, or cake, to assuage your rage.
    1. GR hasn't been released yet so you have no idea what consequences the devs already decided to put into effect.

    2. GR is getting ready to go into closed beta testing. You missed your chance to make suggestions that would be considered for implementation with GR. They aren't going to postpone the release date to change things now even if it was a good idea.

    3. Getting defensive and insulting because someone doesn't like your idea isn't going to change peoples minds. In fact it will have the opposite effect. People will see you as throwing a hissy-fit and will attempt to bait you in order to watch your antics.

    4. I like pie.

    The Apple i-Pie that is.

Poor Gray is just frustrated because the big bad mods deleted his last doom thread. Having his thread castrated is very devastating to a guy like him.

Still, even if it's *not* "constructive", wouldn't a bump of an old thread be preferable anyway in terms of not cluttering with a non-constructive *new* thread?

    Just curious...
Sadly they didn't consult me when they made the rules, but they've been against necroposting for as long as I've been a member of the forums.

The worst that will probably happen that it will get locked if one of the mods notices how long the thread has lain inactive before starting up again. And since the topic of the thread is one which usually causes heated debates it's more likely to get noticed.

Yes they could and did. RMT sites were creating trila accounts in order to

    1. Rob the SG storage blind if they found the base permissions were lax. There was also an exploit that existed at the time which allowed someone in an SG that was in coalition with another SG to rob the coalition SG blind regardless of what sevurity settings the coalition SG had set.

    2. Gather player character and global names so they could be added to their email spam lists.

    3. Infiltrate SG, Coalition and Private chat channels in order to flood the channels with RMT spam.

Almost every single trial restriction was put into place to discourage RMT abuse.

    5. Non-Constructive posts are prohibited.

Thread necromancy - Necro-posting is responding to an old discussion thread and is a form of thread ‘bumping’. If you wish to discuss a considerably older topic, create a new post and link to the older discussion.

If you keep your sense of humor you should be alright but Shark's warning relates to the fact that there will probably be a few people popping in who will be a lot less diplomatic with their posts from both sides.

If you see Memphis Bill's cut and paste on vehicles and read the whole thing you'll see after he explain's why we won't see vehicles he does offer up some alternatives that might work in the game.

How can you pass up another attack or one of your armors at level 10? Stamina usually falls about level 22 or 26.
I have a few characters that use the entire fitness pool when character concept calls for it. That being a character that doesn't have exotic powers to manipulate. Just increased speed, agility, health, and endurance from hard excerice, and weapons and equipment a normal human can use.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with Penny. You need to be more specific, because other than Swinging and Tunneling both games have identical travel powers.

Granted some of the animations are different. Their teleport animations are better than ours.

I think we have a lot more flexibility with our travel powers than they have with theirs. For example, they have Fireflight which is flight with a fire aura.

We can have flight with the following auras:
    1. Electricity
    2. Fiery
    3. Flies
    4. Gaseous
    5. Glow
    6. Glowing Aura
    7. Rocky Crumble
    8. Sparkles
    9. Smoky
    10. Smoldering
    11. Starburst Glow
    12. Tendrils
    13. Vaporous
Their Jet boots is nothing more than our Flight with a Rocket Boot costume recipe.

The same way their Rocket Jump is our Super Jump with a Piston Boot recipe.

Instead of jetpacks (Ours actually work btw. Theirs are nothing more than nonfunctioning backpacks) they have flying platforms. Hover Disc, Ice Slide, Earth Flight where the character stands still while the platform moves.

    Both games have wings

They have Super speed and Acrobatics. We have Superspeed and Ninja Run.

Furthermore our travel powers can be visually enhanced by also toggling on one of the Prestige Sprints Dash, Quick, Rush, Surge, and Power Slide.

Swinging looks dumb as hell unless you are in a city zone like Steel Canyon with lots of tall building to help with the immersion of swinging from building to building.

Tunneling may never be allowed in this game because it's abuse could easily be a gamebreaking exploit. Activate the power and the player is effectively invulnerable. We already went thru this with Phase shift.

Here's all the info I could find about contacting support. They do say they have a number to call. I highlighted it in green.

    The NCsoft Support Website
The NCsoft Knowledge Base at http://help.ncsoft.com is the place to find answers and contact our support team. Answers to many commonly asked questions are available in our searchable site. Many of these answers will tell you what information to include when contacting support for a particular issue, so you can often speed the process along by sending the necessary information in your initial inquiry.

If the Knowledge Base does not contain the answer to your question, click the Ask a Question tab. Once there, follow these simple steps to submit your question to us:
    1. Enter your e-mail address in all lower case (e-mail address is case sensitive).
    2. Type your subject and message in the appropriate boxes. Populate the fields and drop-down menus and click the Submit Question button.
    3. If your e-mail address is already registered, skip to Step #6. If you have not registered your e-mail previously, you will be taken to a registration screen. Enter the information requested to register your address and create a support account. We respect your privacy and do not share this information with other companies.
    4. Click the Create Account button.
    5. You will be taken to a screen that verifies support account creation.
    6. Click the Finish Submitting Question button.
You will be presented with a reference number for your submission. A copy of your question will also be e-mailed to you for your records.

Please Note: Your support account login is separate from your NCsoft or game account logins so that you will always have access to support, even if you are having a problem with your game account.

You can update your issue at any time by using the My Stuff tab. For more information about the My Stuff tab, including how to track your current support issues, click the link below.

How does the My Stuff section of the support website work?

    Phone Support
We offer telephone support for billing and technical support issues only. You may contact a member of our Billing or Technical Support Teams by calling the number below. We do not offer telephone support for general game support issues. Any calls regarding game support will be directed to use one of the available support methods listed in the Game Support section.

    From within the US: 1-512-225-6359
From outside the US: (++1) 512-225-6359
    Mon-Fri
    12pm to 5pm, Central

NOTE: We do not have a European support number. You must dial your country's International Access Code in order to call support from outside the United States.
  23. This is an issue that needs to be taken up with Customer Support. There is nothing that anyone here can do but offer you their sympathy and hope for a quick resolution.

If you are hoping for a redname response then you posted in the wrong section. As the heading of this section reads it is for "Players helping players find information related to CoH/CoV". The rednames rarely respond to anything here and no one knows how often they bother to read it. You'll probably get better results in City-Life General Discussions.

Best of luck getting this resolved.

Leastwise, that's how I understand it.
    You are correct Kat.
  25. I simply assume that incoherent private messages are mistells and aren't worth the effort of responding.
