My only addendum is that mail with attached items or inf should not be auto-deleted by the "Delete all" but should bring up a prompt as to whether the mail should be returned.

There is an option to only receive mail from Friends and SG members, but I believe you'll still get e-mails sent to your global (so people can mail you stuff).
You're not getting spam that's addressed to your global, are you? o_o
