Are you actually trying to claim that after Going Rogue goes live that a new player who purchases the Mission Architect Edition so he can get the free booster that comes with it won't be able to play the game because he can't get into Praetoria?

    You're nuts.

    The devs aren't that stupid.

If you pick the Vigilante option, you have a chat with Silent Blade during which your only options are to make a "I am the law" speech.

Praetorian missions are actually a bit better about giving you various dialogue options that don't directly impact the result to refine your motivation. ("Where's my cup of coffee?")

Sorry I misunderstood. I thought you were referring to the 1-20 Praetorian range.

  5. She must be part pokemon. BabyMage has evolved into ToddlerMage. Prolly going to be a Praetorian Controller or Dominator with the Cuteness Control primary power set.

I had no problems soloing any of my Praetorian characters using nothing more than TO's.

    4. Ambushes. Oh sweet Eris, the ambushes. Someone fell asleep on the "add ambush" button and the others never bothered to move them.
I rather enjoyed the ambushes. They really brought to the game the impression that people were willing to die for what they believed in, and that the zombies were really mindless monsters with little or no idea of self preservation.

    5. It's nice to get a choice between two different options, but once you pick one option, everything else is set in stone - all the dialogue trees in the Tip and Morality missions have exactly one choice for your character.
Two factions = two choices. The trick is to read the choices and decide which your character would actually make. The right choice isn't always the heroic option.

As the one (Massively?) reviewer pointed out, one choice has the heroic option of destroying the drugged water supply, but the consequences of the character doing that is that he is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of innocent citizens who die as a result of the water shortage.

No there wasn't. The only time redside was that busy was right after it was released, which was 5 years ago. After the new wore off the redside population dropped off to a small fraction of the playerbase.

    Quote:
Without a doubt, pop is down significantly.
No one has claimed the population wasn't down.

    Quote:
Yes, I know all about instanced people, but I'm used to seeing 5-6 people just hanging out, and then there being 30-40 people running around in the slums doing instances.

Getting into a team was beyond easy... there was usually a group even standing outside an instance waiting for more people to just randomly show up (the good instances.... bank runs, etc)
Getting a team is still easy for people who are willing to do more than stand in one zone and spam "LFT" over and over in broadcast.

    Quote:
I don't see why that is such a hard thing to admit really... the game pop is a fraction of what it was only 2 years ago.
Ah this again. The only thing some people have a hard time admitting is that the reason they can't find teams is because they are either lazy and don't make any effort to be social and join global channels, super groups, or send invites to form their own teams, or because they act like obnoxious jerks when they are in the game and they've been actively ignored by most people on their server.

Oh and just because someone like Lightfoot points out the reasons why you had a hard time finding people online, and offers helpful suggestions on how to find a team, does not mean that people are denying that the games population is lower than it was a few years ago.

Freedom looks like it will have enough people to play with though, even on redside, which is good. Ive been screwing around on a trial account just to see if I actually wanna re-activate my old account, and I think I will.
I hope you enjoy your time on Freedom and decide to return.

Well limited in the sense that they didn't want the system to crash from being swamped with too many transfers at once and permanently losing the characters.

I think the process goes as follows,

    1. They copy the character for transfer.
    2. They delete the character off of the old server.
    3. They complete the transfer to the new server.

I think it's done this way to prevent any exploit occurring that would give players duplicates of the same character. People would happily pay $10. to duplicate all the Inf, Recipes, IO Salvage, and IO's on a character, then strip them of that wealth and pay to duplicate the character again.

I'm sure they'll give more details. (Not really planning on moving anyone, I don't think. Might pull a Dom I have off of Freedom.)

From the announcement, though, it just looks like "We're not charging for them that week."
I may be wrong but if I recall they first offered it for the month of Jan, for 6 characters per week, and extended it thru Feb or at least most of it.

I've been thinking about shuffling my villains around so I can keep them as bad guys but free up their names for reuse as new Praetorian characters.

I had no idea the British Broadcasting Corporation was interested in our suggestions for the base architect.

As to if you can say "end of discussion for now." I don't think anyone here knows if you can say it or not. For all we know you may have a seriously debilitating speech impediment and everything you say sounds like "tufflump girdlefump." in which case no you can't say it.

If you actually meant to ask, "May I say end of discussion for now?" then the answer is no you may not. People are free to participate in this thread and contribute further ideas or criticisms s as long as they obey forum rules. Only the Mods can tell us to shut the hell up.

I'd have to say, that does sound like a Customer Service type of thing.

While you are probably right about her dissatisfaction with the changes to the forum rules, Nethergoat is also right. Her question could have easily been answered via PM or email sent to the devs/mods or Customer Service. Posting it on the open forums is just for the spectacle.

Now I'm not saying I don't agree with her dissatisfaction, but the post is what it is.

Take that white floor tile next to the safe and give it new floor skins (top and bottom) so we can finally make raised floors without having to use 10 million desks.

Sorry OP, but "server merging" is a very touchy topic here. Best to leave it to the "don't ask don't tell" category.
The OP didn't have to search. There's been a couple of different threads on this topic on the front page of more than one section of the forums.

And boy would I like more slots with full vet rewards on my home server...

I'm all for this suggestion. ^^

Uhm, with all due respect language is not a barrier that prevents you from creating characters on a given server. For example, I don't speak French or German, but I would still have characters on those servers. I'd use those servers for characters I like soloing on. I already use one of my accounts as a dedicated solo account. I use it when I don't want to be bothered by anybody at all. I just turn off the chat box and play in peace and quiet.

Oh and just to be clear because I didn't say it before, I'm all in favor of more slots. In fact I want the EU and NA server lists combined so we can all have access to the same number of servers and slots.

Feel free to chant along with me.

    Combine the server lists!

  21. Not criticizing your research method but there are other reasons players use /hide that may not take them near the Talos market. Also as ThugOne pointed out, hiding from searches is only one aspect of the /hide feature.

    2. Hide from Tells (Private Messages)
    3. Hide from Global Chat Channels

Many players have characters on multiple servers and they won't fit on fewer servers unless the devs drastically increase the number of characters that can be kept on a server.

Then there will be the cancellations by players that see server consolidation as the death knell of a game, and the negative press on gaming sights that will inevitably report that CoH is dying which will drive away more potential customers.

I also would not be surprised if they implemented the visible global name option at the same time to deal with naming conflicts.
If they can do it while keeping the global name invisible it might prevent people from cancelling their accounts.

Finally, it's possible an announcement for a CoH 2 or similar game would be made in the same timeframe, to offset any perceptions of doom for the franchise.
Now this is the option I would prefer to see happen. Heck just announcing that they were working on a CoH2 would encourage people to stick around while the new games being worked on.
