Mine don't. Only 2 50's in 6 years, and I only break them out during holiday events to farm candy canes and Halloween salvage. The only reason I got those two characters to 50 was to unlock the EAT's. All my other characters get retired before they get to 50 and moved to the Freedom retirement home for discarded characters

Quote:Those are examples of how lucky we are that our devs are that understanding and generous. However their being understanding and generous doesn't mean we are entitled to get more freebies than they choose to give us.Oh, and what about all those times they give out two freespecs an issue because they didn't give enough notice, or they gave it out early and all the new characters made with the issue's new powersets didn't get one, or everybody complained for some other reason?
Besides, free respecs don't stack, so they could hand out ten at a time and you'd still only be able to use one, HA! -

<sigh> Some people just can't accept that sometimes the problem isn't with the game it's with them.

Quote:Yes, but considering all the warnings we get from them about scam e-mails, it was kinda a weird move on NCSoft's part to send out an e-mail that looks really similar to a lot of the spam ones. My earlier post wasn't saying 'clicking links is okay sometimes,' it was 'the GR beta invite e-mails were kind of poorly done.' I know of several people who thought it was a scam when they first saw the e-mail.
I think your perceptions are a little skewed here. NCSoft is not trying to emulate counterfeit email spam. The RMT sites are trying to counterfeit legitimate emails from game companies to their consumers to trick them into giving them their logins and passwords. An RMT email isn't going to refer you to someone at the company that will confirm that the email is bogus. -
Well it looks like thew OP has decided to turn one of his other threads on this topic into a flamewar because people aren't agreeing with him.

Quote:A CoH closed beta invite can be confirmed by simply logging onto the test server, or checking the forums to see if you have access to the closed beta forumsAnd yet, the Going Rogue beta invitation e-mails had links in them, and one even had a misspelling in the title ("City of Heoes") to make things more suspicious. At least, I know several people who got that e-mail and were in the beta, so I think it was legit. I personally got about four beta invites, many of which I'm pretty sure were legit, so who knows.
Furthermore CoH beta invites refer you to a forum moderator if you can't login to the test server or see the CB forums.

Nice try but everyone knows about /e listenpoliceband from the emote list on the Wiki
The screenshot I notice you didn't post is one that shows the police scanner listed under Praetorian contacts. Of course you can't post that pic because as I said before Praetorians don't have police scanners.

Oh look, A level 12 Praetorian character in Imperial City. Oh and look no police scanner listed under active contacts. Characters in Paragon and Rogue Isles get scanners and newspapers at level 5. Oh and the Detective tab is empty as well.
Better luck next time Lisar.

The level of the enhancements aren't an issue. It's the number of powers and slots that are unabalanced. Remember the OP didn't ask about about exemplaring down to the appropriate level, he was asking about running all TF's at level 50.

That's because you only have one tray open and it's full. Click on the blue arrow I circled and you'll open a second tray. Click a second time and you'll have three trays open.

Once you open the next two trays open you can organize your powers for easier use. -

Quote:In Praetoria there are a couple of timed missions where the goal isn't to kill everything but get to the objective as fast as possible before the timer runs out. Timers of 1-2 minutes. I've yet to fail any of them.missions with short timers are either meant to be done with more then 1 person or you are suppossed to fail it because it is part of the story. i haven't gotten into the whole preatoria missions yet, but i'm sure they will change if datamining proves it needs it.

Between 2 accounts I have 127 characters none of whom use the second build. Prior to the launch of GR I had close to 200 characters. I deleted a lot to make room for fresh ideas.

Quote:You're telling me my police scanner with a holographic display doesn't do face recognition or have database access to the files that allow me assess power level and alignment of other people.
Cause I'm having a hard time believing the giant holographic image and portable wrist projector was designed to make cops feel cool (unless it's to make them feel cool when they are working with people who bend time and space or bench press cargo ships).
1. Characters in Praetoria don't have police scanners.
2. No it doesn't give us that additional information because if it did we would get detailed information about the opponents we face in addition to the brief mission description. All we get if we are lucky is the leaders name and affiliation.
For all we know it's simply a matter of clearance. Street cops/costumed vigilantes (us) may not have the security clearance to access that additional information. Common sense tells us they aren't going to let a device like that out into the public where a cop could easily be killed and the scanner stolen without some heavy security measures. They don't want the criminal population getting access to that kind of information or the database it's kept in. -
Careful GG. That could get a reprimand from a mod about breaking the forum rules. I can't say how I know cuz that's also against the rules.

Quote:I was wondering if anyone else would like to be able to run all the TF at lvl 50, meaning take a lvl 50 toon and run say Moonfire, at lvl 50.
Would it be fun? Could it be done? What are your thoughts?
Do you realize that most of the lower lever opponents don't scale up to level 50? Sure they could scale them with the GM monster code but a level 20 NPC will still only have the powers available to him at level 20. That's woefully underpowered compared to a level 50.
And since there would be no risk involved there wouldn't be any reward to be earned. -
Quote:You have no idea how much I agree with this statement.I, personally, have always loved the lowbie game. I think some of the struggling in Praetoria may have to do with the fact that people rush through that period so quickly that they've forgotten how to actually play at that level any more.
-
Agreed. The devs have known for years that only a small percentage of the playerbase was ever interested in PvP. If they do something with it I'm sure it will make 10 or 20 people happy but it won't affect the game for the majority of players.

Quote:Which is why I said, "Seems fair to me." I made it abundantly clear that what I said was my opinion, not anyone else's. The only time I said anything was completely fair to everyone was in regards to the number of zones that were added. There I did not qualify it as my opinion. The issue isn't price, it's value. Lvl 1 - 20 are the quickest lvls to get through in CoH/V and for some people are the least enjoyable due to the lack of travel powers until late and then issues relating to stamina / endurance and attack chains.
I feel I got much greater value from CoV than I can see in GoRo, despite paying twice as much for it. In fact, I even feel I got more value out of some of the Booster packs, which cost less than GoRo, because the features appealed to me more.
As you your self have said some people don't like the lower levels. Well some is not all. That means some people like the lower levels and still others are simply meh about the whole thing. -
Quote:I think I've seen this thread before. But surely I couldn't have, since cross-posting of threads is against forum rules.
I.E. just look at the answers you got to the first one, m'kay?
Yes you did see this before.
Here's the one in Player Questions.
freespecs
And here's the other he posted in Suggestion's and Ideas.
2 builds, 1 freespec? -
Quote:Even if that's the case a character isn't going to have instant access to that information. For example in the US everyone over 18 is required to have either a driver's licence or a state ID to be used for photo identification. It's part of the public record but we don't have instant access to it.Isn't it said, ingame somewhere, that the ATs we see are the FBSA's classifications for character powers? That would make the AT a matter of public record for any registered costumed vigilante, or any critter with a Threat record..
The ingame registration "documents" the in game authorities useare going to be even more classified than regular public records especially in places like the Rogue Islands and Praetoria. Knowledge is power and they will hoarde it because it is the key to their rule. Very few people will have complete unrestricted access to it and a player's character won't be one of those people. -
Quote:The devs writers have a bad habit of mixing player and character information.Except he wasn't talking about mechanics. He was saying what HE the NPC character was told. It wasn't an instruction to YOU the player, it was a description of something going on in the story.
AT is not simply a game convention.
The combination of the two at the Consignment House NPC's which led to so much player confusion about the old 60 day rule is just one example of NPC's mixing player info and role playing poorly.
