Quote:There was no need to re-use the plot. It's just one more blatant example of the shows poor writing. So it is a plot that they have had to use a few times. That is after all one of the big things they have to worry about. Looks like we will see a gate seeding ship next week which should be interesting.
Yeah cuz that would have required creative writing, and might cause people to be interested in the show and what happens next.Quote:Edit: In regard to the whole stranding them on a planet while Destiny jumps on. At least they didn't draw it out longer than they needed to with multiple episodes. -
Quote:I do play Guild Wars and our setup does the same thing theirs does. The only difference is ours is limited to server transfers, rename tokens, and extra character slots.Calm down, you guys. If you're seen how Guild Wars implemented the ingame store, you wouldn't complain. Basically, a little icon appears in the corner of the character select screen that showcases an item from the store.
And putting the booster packs in the ingame store would allow South Americans like me to purchase them. NCsoft's website does not allow South Americans to buy CoX-related items.
No it wouldn't. South America is blocked because of the rampant credit card fraud. You'd still be blocked from buying boosters for the same reasons regardless if you are going thru the character selection screen or the website store. -
Quote:Rush gets knocked out by Young and can't return to the Destiny before it jumps into hyperspace.I think this is only the second time that they used that plot. Last time it was because they got trapped in a tunnel and couldn't get out in time to reach the gate.
Eli, Scott, Greer, and the useless twit find themselves trapped underground and can't return to the Destiny before it jumps back into hyperspace.
Eli, Scott, Greer, McBewbs, and others crash on a planet where the gate is buried and can't return to the Destiny before it jumps into hyperspace.
And that isn't counting the Air episode where a couple of the civilians used the gate on the desert planet to jump to an unknown world and couldn't return before the Destiny jumped into hyperspace. -
Hmm. Major characters to the show are once again stranded on a planet with no way to return while Destiny jumps into hyperspace leaving them behind. This is what, the third time they've used this plot?
I'm going back to watch NCIS: Los Angeles. -

When Fitness goes inherent it will automatically appear on your character just like Brawl, Sprint, and Rest do. The powers will come with one slot just like the other inherent powers and as you level you'll have to add slots if you want more.
If you have characters that already have Fitness you'll probably have to use a freespec to make adjustments to their builds to take advantage of the additional power choices that will be available. -
Quote:This I agree with. I did exactly this when GR went live to a. free up names I wanted to keep but change AT's and b. to bulk up my presence on other servers with some alts with a nice amount of levels on them.If I ever decide to reroll either of the two characters I have with the 2 year anniversary badge (unlikely), I'll be happy to accept that I'll be giving up at least a few badges to do so.
I suggested a solution already, which is to transfer the character who has the badges to a different server during a free transfer week, and reusing the name on the original server. It's not a perfect solution, but it's what we have so far.
I can understand it seeing I have a character (my first) that I put a lot of creativity into and although I grew to hate my choices in power sets I refused to give up on her. It felt like each level was a battle and took forever to finally get to 50. (I got an MM to 50 before I got her to 50)Quote:Since I find it hard to believe that someone would choose to reroll a 6 year old character on a whim, you should be able to plan in advance to do such a thing. It's not like they release new, possibly more appropriate, powersets without any advance notice at all, or spring free transfers on us with no warning either.
For the most part I agree with this except where the issue of more appropriate power sets being added. I've had several concepts I've made compromises because I had to make do with existing powesets. Petless Thug MM springs to mind when I would have preferred Dual Pistols. Another is my PPD detective who was forced to use AR instead of DP. Of course now days I just reroll the concept and either delete the compromise or change it's name if it's a decent character.Quote:If you didn't plan in advance and suddenly decided to reroll a character, the price you pay for lack of planning would be losing a few badges.
If you read the ultimate respec threads and believe what people claim as justification for wanting to respec out of power sets/archetypes. Personally I'm too cynical to believe that's the real reason behind the suggestions.Quote:And is it REALLY that common for people who have those badges to reroll a character that old? I know with the way *I* play, if a character makes it that far, I am happy with them as they are and would feel no need to make them something different.
Do people really reroll their old characters often enough that something like this would be widely used? -
Quote:Ah I see, I've fallen prey to being misunderstood by way of that generic you several times. I assumed you were a little miffed because I posted the same response right after you in both this and the "Ultimate Respec" thread.Sorry, I should have clarified that it was more of a general response and not directed at you specifically. It was intended as a generic "you". You just happened to say the part I was quoting there, and it is one of the reasons usually put forth as a justification for making badges account-wide.

Quote:I've heard rumors that such a thing was possible via petition but no one that mentioned it to me ever actually had first hand knowledge it was actually possible so I haven't put much faith in the stories, thus didn't mention it.i know of at least one group of SGs that apparently were able to get themselves renamed after the founder left the game. (The SGs didn't like him very much after the way he left, but apparently didn't want to disband completely.) i don't know how they did it, but i would guess sending in a petition or contacting support was part of the process.

Quote:1. If you bothered to read the OP's post you'd know why this is being suggested. So why are you so desperate to have them on all your characters?
2. Desperate? Another player posted this suggestion.
Quote:How about if we had Access to an "Ultimate Respec" at some point (Vet reward, High Level TF/Trial, Unlocked at hitting 50, purchase for a few Hero/Villain merits... or even as simple as it being an oiption during a "mundane" respec, whatever works). When perfoming such a respec, it takes your character (after a couple "Are you sure" and "Are you REALLY sure" screens) back to the character creation choices, keeping their name the same, and keeping all their badges intact, but letting them choose faction, AT, and powersets from scratch.
If you bothered to read it you'd have seen my responses
and laterQuote:It doesn't matter how many times you want to suggest this idea or how many ways you reword it to try to make it sound different, the fact remains that every single time the devs have responded to the respec suggestions it has always been the same answer. They are not going to let us respec into new powersets.
The only people that get hostile in these threads are the people that don't want to accept that the devs aren't going to implement this idea.
Quote:I always find it funny when people use unique badges as justification for wanting to redo the respec feature when it would be a lot easier to for the devs to make the unique badges apply to an account rather than individual characters.
Badges are a lame excuse and no one is falling for it.
That doesn't even remotely sound like I'm "desperate" to have those badges on all my characters.
je_saist's idea is a much simpler and far more elegant solution to the archetype respecs people keep suggesting in order to keep badges that don't get issued anymore. -

Using that logic then that Dual Pistols character of yours should only have earned 6 or 7 months of vet badges because that AT has barely been out for half a year.
Anniversary badges have no impact on game play so there's no reason why they can't be account based rather than character based, and it's much easier to make those badges account based than to rework the respec feature to allow people to change AT's because they don't want to create a new character that won't have those badges.
Sorry, but I don't feel a character you create TODAY deserves vet rewards you got for logging in FIVE YEARS AGO. That's like saying I deserve a purple heart because my grandfather got one in WWII. -
Quote:Using that logic then that Dual Pistols character of yours should only have earned 6 or 7 months of vet badges because that AT has barely been out for half a year.Really? That Dual Pistols/Pain Domination corruptor has been around for SIX YEARS? How'd you pull that one off? Seeing as how none of those things (Dual Pistols, Pain Domination, or even corruptors) existed 6 years ago.
I don't see how characters that couldn't possibly have existed when the badge was available can be justified with having it.
My main character and one of my blasters have the second anniversary badge. A few others have the 3rd anniversary badge, still others have the 4th anniversary badge. I don't feel that my brand new Invulnerability/Dual Blades tank (my most recently created character) needs those badges just because one character on my account has them.

Quote:More like Touched by an Amazon. To be fair, though, Wonder Woman's never had a clear mission. That's one of the problems with her character, and it was touched upon in Kingdom Come. I mean, her mission is supposed to be something in the vein of "make the world better" or "bring peace to man's world" or something, and those are so vague.
Perhaps they'll make it My Name is Earl with superpowers, and Diana will just try to help one person a day.

Quote:I think you hit the nail on the head. Between the comic books and the TV show people have a pretty good idea of what they expect Wonder Woman to look like, and if Hollywood strays too far from that image fans won't go for it.Ironically I sometimes think that Lynda Carter did "too good" of a job being Wonder Woman from the point of view that it's taken decades for people to work past the idea of there possibly being a Wonder Woman TV show that does not have to be an exact copy of the 70s era series. Apparently Lynda defined the role so well that no other show since then has been able to make it to the light of day.

For example which of these makes you think Wonder Woman? Both played the role.
Of course there's also the "Costume" that's iconic. re-imagining something like that can be tricky and hard to pull off. Fans identify with the costume almost as much as what the characters physical appearance.
No arguments here. I'm willing to give a lot of leeway if the part is well written and the person chosen can pull it off. We're just having fun debating who we'd like for the part.Quote:I know people have been talking about who should play Wonder Woman in a new show for years. Frankly at this point I think they ought to find a fresh new face that fits the role as well as possible. An actress who has the least amount of "baggage" from other movies/shows is probably the best bet to move past the Lynda Carter mindset. -
If I may make a suggestion to tide you over until the bug gets fixed, Go to the tailor and select the high collared cape from the Magic booster. That should block your line of sight from behind and you won't notice it as much.

Quote:If you think the whole relationship between Diana and Steve was bad, and I agree it was bad, then you have to read Twilight and see what todays women are going nuts about.Yes, but the difference was it was not her job that was on the line.... it was all about pleasing Steve because she wuved him and genuinely fretted about letting him down.
I want to see something more akin to the build-up of the Kingdom Come Diana. A proper Amazonian princess with a clear mission. -

So Dean had sex with his half-brother's mother. That could turn into a country song.

Quote:Then Player Xero canFor a rough example, Player Xero wants to do a mission arc by himself but needs help, he could have the option of hiring backup for 50,000 each (Just picked a number out of the air) to complete the toughest stage. Or maybe even to fill out a team for a TF. Xero burns inf and gets to solo the arc or TF. . . I am completely ok with that, wouldn't use it myself, just too poor, but I would not object to someone having the option to.
Edit: Some people simply are not team players, either too shy or burned too often to trust strangers.

Let's not forget the flipside. The OP's employer shouldn't have to keep paying him to work. The OP should get one check and then work the rest of his life for free.
