Quote:No they can't. Base architects allow players to set up private rooms in bases which are walled off from the rest of the base. The only people with access to those spots are the ones that are allowed base editing permission.people can already see who is storing what in those, and the intention of the base storage is communal, if an individual group allows it for personal storage, that is an outlier situation beyond the intent
The concept of communal storage went out the window when the devs chose to remove pathing restrictions in Issue 13 which allowed the creation of isolated secret rooms inside of bases and killed it off entirely with the creation of the Super Leader rank and the addition of rank permissions on individual bins in Issue 14. The super leader the the defacto owner of the SG and everything in it. Lock stock and barrel. The Super Leader can restrict bin access to himself or even kick everyone form an SG if he wants and keep everything for himself. Customer Service/GM's will not get involved in an SG's internal politics. -

Don't be blue. Look at it this way, You'll have somthing different to switch to if you want a change of pace. Even powersets within an archetype play differently from each other.
This is an opportunity to build your own Legion of Super Heroes. Join us on the dark side of Altaholics Anonymous. We have ponies, pie, and punch.

Quote:No. Primary/Secondary powersets cannot be changed once selected. You have to create a new character. It's one of the very few things the devs have flat out told us they will never let us do.ok, now I have another question: Is it possible that I can change power sets? Like if my toon has dual swords & instead I want her to have superstrength, can that be arranged? & can her 2nd set be changed too?
Edit: On a basic North American account we can make 144 characters, and up to 396 if we buy extra character slots. That's more than any of us will ever use. If the game only allowed us 2-3 characters total then the devs might have allowed us to change powersets.
I have over 100 characters spread across 2 accounts. -
Quote:Exactly the one I'm talking about. And since I only play that game maybe for a day or two every 3-4 months I couldn't remember the names of my characters when I returned to play again. So I had to contact support and ask them to give me one of my names. The only change I know of is that you have to enter one of your character's names in addition to your password.
Before they agreed to do that they told me I had to prove I owned the account by providing the serial codes for my GW account. Fortunately Serial codes are one of the things I always keep records of.
Now despite my being able to provide the codes the same day they asked for them it took support an entire month to respond with my character names. I had to escalate the issue 2-3 times before getting satisfaction. -

There are plenty of SG's that let certain members use bins for additional personal storage, and it's nobody's business what they choose to store in those bins. -
Quote:Who said it has to be limited to where one can use it? o.O
So saying it's limited to only certain areas, would be silly.
Oh yeah and swinging from rope attached to absolutely nothing overhead doesn't look silly.
Implementing stupid ideas from a failing competitors game is always a bad idea. -

Travel powers should be able to be used everywhere and not restricted to zones where there are structures tall enough to swing from. You can't swing across zones with large bodies of open water, or from the clouds. This is why the power looks stupid in CO. -
Quote:Holy Walls of Text Batman!I had this conversation with a newbie after he got killed by the Winter Lord coming out of a mission in Nova. Newbie: Jeeze you fools! Ever think that placing a mob spawn as you come out of a quest is a bad idea?! (not exactly what he said but something to that effect) to which I replied: wow, its just a game, don't take things so seriously... to which he replied: But I accrue debt when I get killed without being able to defend myself. (again, something to that effect) to which I replied: Debt is just another badge in this game, death is also not permanent... (or something like that) we continued the conversation like this back and forth: him QQing about dying coming out of a mission, and me, being the big jerk and telling him he is QQing over it till he logged.... Which brings me to my point, actually, his point, a valid one thinking back on it, the WL and other event GMs sometimes spawn in areas where newbies like him are entering/exiting missions. If you aren't accustomed to this game much as a new player, that can be a deterent to them subscribing to this game, they don't know it is a limited time event, and they also don't know that XP debt does not mean much in this game except more badges as earning XP in this game is ridiculously easy, especially at low levels. can we please do something about the event GM spawn areas for these new players, so they aren't turned off by the game?
The WL was right outside the Ministry of Inteligence/Defense (depending on which mission you are on I believe) doors, and new players trying to go in or coming out, as well as trying to get to Inspector Washington would be killed over and over trying to get to those places, that can be a big detterant to new players as I said before, enough to make them want to not subscribe. Also, going around wasn't an option, as the doors and Washington was in the WL LoS, and trying to get a team to kill the WL was failing, as it was after the holidays and most people had all the rewards from that they wanted... so in these cases I would argue that moving the event GM spawn locations to slightly less trafficed areas would be a boon, as new players would not get turned off by being killed while unable to defend themselves, and it wouldn't be hazardous to anyone's health getting to missions and contacts they need.

This isn't the first time someone has suggested adding more stuff that we can do with the SG Mission Computer. Another idea was to use it as an SG AE Terminal so SG's can work on and go on AE missions in the privacy of their own bases.
I'll /sign anything to make bases more versatile. -
The OP may have more than one NCSoft game on his Master Account and CoH may not be the first game on that account. So it's quite possible he may have a different login for his Master Account. That's how it happened to me with my Master Account.
If that's the case then I hope the OP can provide support with the info they will ask for to verify he actually is the account holder. I had to jump thru hoops for over a month to prove I was who I said I was last year (and I had all the info they asked for at my fingertips) when I returned to GW and found they had changed their security features and I couldn't log in to play. -
Quote:Hi Breth, since your question has been answered I'm going to share something that will help you keep track of threads on the forums that contain information you might forget but want to remember.I'm sure this question has been answered somewhere else but i'm a bit stupid when it comes to searching for threads, forgive me.
thanks for your advice in advance,
a noob
If you'll look at your original post you'll see a group of drop down windows in the upper right hand corner. The first is labeled Thread Tools. If you click on that you'll get a drop down window with three options. The last one being Subscribe to this Thread.
When you subscribe to a thread it puts it on a list that you will find under your User CP. As long as the thread hasn't been deleted by the Mods you can return to it whenever you like to check it for information.
The thread itself is also marked by a little check box so when you see the check when your browsing the forums it will remind you that that is a thread you've subscribed to.
I hope that helps make it easier for you in the future when you want to find something you wanted to keep track of.

Super Leaders can promote or demote any player in the Supergroup, including themselves. With the new position, Leader rank players will not be auto-demoted due to inactivity. This is reserved only for Super Leaders, who will be demoted back to Leader rank and the most recent Leader promoted in their place. There can be only one Super Leader.
It's usually a good idea to learn how the game actually works before making a suggestion. Especially if you're the type of player that comes and goes for months or longer at a time. Lot's of changes occur each time a new issue is added while people are away playing other games. -

I won't claim that series was the best thing I ever read but enjoyed each book, and there was always something to make me laugh.

You are correct. That's exactly how they would lose money.

We do have other space-based threats, however, like the Shivan meteors and the Nictus.

Worst forum experience I witnessed was on the forums of a recently launched space MMO. About 2 months after launch the game was put on sale for a week at $10. off and some of the forum members got so outraged they were posting insults and threats against the devs families on the games Wiki page. Needless to say they got banned.

Quote:I think everyone uses the occasional shortcut from time to time. The bad experiences seem to come from the ones that use it all the time. Thanks for clearing that up. I don't get leet, so I do not bother..sometimes I might put in an im shortcut occasionally tho
Also my observations are based solely on my own personal ingame experiences. Other people have reported different encounters. So my advice is don't be surprised if you encounter it from time to time but don't let another persons opinion color your own perception. There are always exceptions that surprise you. -

There is another option besides "shut up and suck it up": discuss possible changes, evaluate the merits, work for change where practicable. Hence the point of the suggestions thread, no?
I think that Shark's statement was more in response to the contrary attitude someone else was displaying. -
Leet (or "1337"), also known as eleet or leetspeak, is an alternative alphabet for the English language that is used primarily on the Internet.
7|-|15 15 L337 5P34|< (Translation: this is leet speak)
IM speak is used by text messaging and is the shortening of words to as few as one letter.

Y dun U PL me 2day U noob lol
The general consensus is that the people that use those two forms of communication usually turn out to be immature jerks. Now that doesn't always apply to everyone. There are some people that are roleplaying a character but you can tell them apart because the jerks will insult and mock you if you mention that you have no clue what they are saying. -

Or better yet. Remember our first video game?
