  1. Yeah every time we've gotten the devs to comment on this idea they've told us it isn't going to happen.

Who knows maybe one day they'll change their minds but I'm not holding my breath.

Upon further analysis, if you already made the leap, all is not lost. The two 6Gb/s SATA ports are fine, the problem is the four 3Gb/s SATA ports on the chip (actually the clock circuitry for them). Also a number of mid range motherboards included an additional 6Gb/s SATA controller for two additional ports. Using these 6Gb/s SATA ports, even with 3Gb/s drives, is a viable work around. It's not like the problem is going to blow up your motherboard or damage your drives.
After talking with the company about my order I was told that if I'm willing to wait they expect they'll be able to fill my order with the new part by the end of March beginning of April. I told them that was fine with me.

Why? It seems pets, along with granite stone armor and the forms for kheldians are very simplistic. They just use an NPC model in a library, and the system doesn't seem to be set up now to handle customization of the NPC library.

The thugs for masterminds, for instance, use differing models. Yet there's no way to make sure your arsonist always looks the same. It just doesn't specify.

    Bingo.

If the OP isn't willing to use the other starting zone for peace and quiet then he needs to use the communication tools we have been provided for the short time he spends in Atlas Park.

Even soloing it only takes half an hour to get to level 5 which opens up contacts in Kings Row and The Hollows, and most of that time will be spent inside missions where he can't receive Broadcast messages.

On the rare occasions when he finds himself in AP during when there are more players online that enjoy AE missions he can use the /ignore feature and even the /ignore spammer feature for the few people that are truly spamming messages.

He even has the option of customizing which chat channels he listens to in his chat box. A simple click and he can have a tab set that doesn't show any Local or Broadcast messages which he can tab off as soon as he leaves Atlas Park.

    The Cape 1-31-11

I'd like to see Orwell fight a villainess called Cruel Whip in a whip cream factory. Or maybe she could wrestle a chick named Shooter in a Jello factory.

That's because the show needs more scantily clad Orwell and less emo cape sulking over how his family is reacting every episode.

Interesting. I like Dice. Orwell seems conflicted. She wants to bring Chess down but doesn't want to see daddy get killed. The Cape was what I've come to expect.

Of course there would have to be another way to access them for people who don't have an SG, this would just be an option like the vault.
I think that would be the best way to do it. Even if the "door" was at the regular base portal and your personal space was one of the choices under the main base and any coalitions.

I'm planning to buy a Collector's Edition of CoV just for the in-game perks, and the Heroclicks figures.

Currently Amazon is selling new copies for $3.88

This type of hostile post almost always draws negative responses from other players.

Thanks for the assist Zach that was a great example of how some of the arguments get started on the forums.

Personal spaces should be completely seperate from bases. We already have a problem with bases crashing if we place too many items in them. Having players decorate their personal spaces would take away from what could be done with the rest of the base or cause an established base to crash because the item limit was crossed.

Simply reuse the code behind the Ninja Run power and change the animations for it.
This also sets a precedent for alternate animations for other travel powers. Now they can take the Powerslide animations and with some adjustments use them to create new choices for Fly.

Imagine being able to fly around while standing on a surfboard, or a block of ice, or molten rock, or a flying carpet, or a sciency/techy hover disc.

What's stopping them? Time. Prioritization. Loathing for having too many Auras out at once which starts to hit fps.

To be honest I assumed that if they did it at all it would be done the same way they did shields.

Part of the deal with my family is that they'll be taking my old system and fixing it up for themselves. They'll pay $450. of what the new tower is costing.

I think they are going to try swapping out the video card from their system into my Phenom. Their current system is several years older than mine and tho they aren't into online gaming the phenom will be a huge improvement over what they currently have.

I do so hope that with the i20 changes, and even the 19.5 ones this game doesnt devolve into that. I like that fact that anyone can pretty much post ideas or theorys on things and as long as they have even a basic understanding on things we're accepting enough to tell them how it may or may not work.
The only time I saw responses that resembled the idiocy I've seen on other forums was just after the Devs/GM's dropped the hammer on the original AE exploits.

I always get a laugh whenever I see someone claim that our forums are the worst they've ever seen. I wish I could see the look on their faces when they see how they get treated in other games.

Yeah it can be a real eye opener when someone realizes just how nice we are here compared to other games forums. Just last March I saw people get banned in another games forums when they started posting insults and threats against their devs families because the parent company put that game on sale for $10 less a month after the game launched.

While I don't disagree with you, the system that had those chips as options was a minimum hundred dollars more expensive then the limit my family told me I could charge. So I chose not to push my their generosity in this issue. I was surprised that they even made the offer to let me use their CC in the first place.

And there's nothing wrong with being a tech junkie as long as you keep the impulses under control.

Ok, one more time, it's optional... if you don't want to pvp, don't turn on the flag and add the so-called "jacktards" to your global ignore. Problem solved. I just don't understand why people fight so hard to oppose something that wouldn't even affect them. Plus, I seriously think some people over-exaggerate the prevalence of these types of people. I'd bet you would see very few of them. Maybe once a month. And I've played many mmo's with pvp flagging systems.

Remember, this is a game about super-heroes and villains. It does seem a bit odd to not give the heroes and villains freedom to battle in the city. Would it make sense if Magneto and the X-Men could only fight in a certain neigborhood? I'm just saying this could be something for people to do if they want to add some variety to their gaming.
A dedicated PvP server would be a much better idea than a PvP flag system. PvPer's could simply logon to the PvP server and know that everyone they encounter is a legal target, and the PvEer's can continue to play the game without any PvP harrassment.

Remember if there is any part of the playerbase the devs need to keep happy it's the ones whose subscriptions are paying the bills. And in this game that's the PvE players. This game was designed to be PvE from the start and PvP was only an afterthought that was added later. PvP never interested more than a handful of players in it's heyday.
  23. Thanks for the help and the nifty websites. Using them I was able to finalize my choices and order my new Tower. And it turns out I was able to get a better selection of parts than I originally thought for my budget. (I also learned I was eligible for a discount on my purchase as well as not having to pay for 6 months and no interest if I can pay it off in the first 6 months after the billing starts. ) So this will give me time to build up a bulk payment to give my family when the bill arrives on their CC.

So in about 10-15 business days I'll be getting the following

    Intel Core i7 870 processor (4x2.93Ghz/8mb l3 cache), 8GB DDR3-1600 RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB, 2 TB Hard Drive - 32M Cache - 7200 RPM - SATAII 3.0Gb/s

I can't wait for it to get here. I've been having game withdrawals ever since my video card died in December.
  24. I wouldn't mind seeing this level of customization added to the game.
  25. Gonna have to disagree with the OP on this. The powers are working fine just the way they are.
