The Cape 1-31-11

Interesting. I like Dice. Orwell seems conflicted. She wants to bring Chess down but doesn't want to see daddy get killed. The Cape was what I've come to expect.

I liked the episode. Summer Glau is getting better looking every year. Mena Suvari, not so much. Could use some decent fights though. Too much drama, not enough punching.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

That's because the show needs more scantily clad Orwell and less emo cape sulking over how his family is reacting every episode.

I liked Dice a lot. Reminded me of Longshot. I also like Summer with longer hair.

Tracy's manerisms as a child at the beginning of the show kind of reminded me of Summer's speaking cadence.

I'd like to see Orwell fight a villainess called Cruel Whip in a whip cream factory. Or maybe she could wrestle a chick named Shooter in a Jello factory.

I agree with the show needing more fighting between the antagonist/protagonist. Perhaps their budget is restrained, so they can only show so much of his cape doing its thing.

Loved this line:

"Do you always have to interrupt me when I'm drinking?"

"You're always drinking..."

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Not bad...finally caught up with the last 3 shows (DVR didn't record 'em for some reason :/)....

I'll agree that it needs some more fight and a bit less drama but...overall it's still 'okay/good enough'

Looking at next week's preview I would swear that one of the bad guys is modeled after the wheelchair bound die hard Dethklok fan Edgar Jomfr from Metalocalpse.

Just read the initial order for the show has been cut from 13 to 10 episodes.

Not a good sign for season 2.

That's a shame. TV shows just don't get enough time to work the kinks out anymore. Especially niche shows. And even if they -are- pretty good from the beginning, like Firefly, they STILL don't get more than a freaking season.

Tales of Judgment. Also here, instead of that other place.

good luck D.B.B.

Yeah. I'm getting to the point where I don't even bother to see what new stuff is coming out. That way I can just watch it season by season.

With 4 "seasons" a year how the heck can a show build a solid fanbase? The season's over just as it's starting to attract people and then they forget about it. If a show isn't an instant hit it's screwed.

I have a feeling it's got more to do with DVD sales than anything. They can get busy selling them and making money if they can crank out the seasons faster by making the seasons' broadcast time shorter.

I can see what you guys are saying, then again, I've always been more of a fan of shows with shorter, more intimate story arcs than 22 episodes of meandering plot.

I've always liked smaller and more detailed over epic and sweeping.
