  1. Citizen, you do not have Omega Level Clearance.

    Now, look into this camera...

    It doesn't realy matter how many names are purged. It matters how many names are purged that other people want.

    The name purge policy was changed from lv35 to lv5 specifically based on what names were being claimed by new owners.

    That's why I generally like scaling down rather than up. The textures are designed for a certain size, and generally wouldn't look good when scaled up. But scaling down doesn't present such a problem.

    So, instead of multiplying the mission map by {{2, 0, 0, 0}, {0, 2, 0, 0}, {0, 0, 2, 0}, {0, 0, 0, 0}}, multiply the characters on the map by {{0.5, 0, 0, 0}, {0, 0.5, 0, 0}, {0, 0, 0.5, 0}, {0, 0, 0, 0}}

    Of course, I think the game treats stairs as ramps, so that might look silly if you just grabbed an exiting map that has stairs in it.

    Full price for the regular version of GR. There's also going to be a 'collectors edition' version that's more expensive, with extra goodies. The collector's edition of GR is the main reason I didn't prepurchase

    Hey, don't forget pohsyb (CW Bennet)

    CoX Game Engine

    1. I'm fairly certain the game was built from scratch. I can guarantee it wasn't built on top of Quake. It's actually extremely difficult to significantly change game genre when using someone else's engine.

    2. As I understand it, the engine that Cryptic built is being leased by NCSoft, which is why the Cryptic logo still appears. I suspect the building housing the actual servers (or, buildings, since we've got servers located on the west coast, the east coast, and in Germany) was either already owned/leased by NCSoft, or was always and still is a 3rd party server farm.

    Quality of gameplay has very little to do with the engine. That's all in game design.

    Your best bet for getting a new game with the same engine would be to contact Cryptic asking about leasing their engine (or get someone to do it for you). Then build a game. Of course, the new game can't be City of Heroes at all. And building a new game is really hard and takes a long time, even if you've got an existing engine to work with. You'll also find that most people agree that the 'limitations' you're complaining about actually made this game better.

    Rikti Drones do not have increased perception. They ignore stealth.

    As an Illusion Controller, you've also got access to the best stealth power in the game (Superior Invisibility). Rikti Drones and Rularuu Sentries will still see you, of course, because they ignore stealth.
  12. Fleeting Whisper

    Oh wow ...

    And you can also put a workbench in a SG base

    Some players have also achieved an accolade badge which allows them to summon a workbench; you'll most often see them using it at the market, can you're able to use it too. (Of course, since the badge requires lots of crafting, you need to know the locations of the others if you want the badge for yourself)

    We used it a bit with Traps, too. For several of the traps (Acid Mortar and Trip Mine were my favorites, as I recall), you could start laying it as soon as you saw the teleporter being the animation, and the trap would be laid at the new location when the teleport finished. It saves a lot of time when 7 Trip Mines activate in the middle of the spawn as soon as you arrive

    Note that Phantom Army, Spectral Terror, and the Phantasm's pet 'Decoy Phantasm' do not count towards the healing Nictus' heal. (Phantasm himself does, of course)

    OTOH, Phantasm has negative resistance to Negative Energy damage, so he'd probably get murdered pretty quick between the mire Nictus and the spawning Nictus

    Gang War summons between 9 and 13 pets, actually:
    * Summon Posse
    * Summon Posse (after 0.5 second delay)
    * Summon Posse (after 1 second delay) (50% chance)
    * Summon Posse (after 1.5 second delay)
    * Summon Posse (after 2 second delay)

    * Summon Posse (after 5 second delay)
    * Summon Posse (after 5.5 second delay)
    * Summon Posse (after 6 second delay) (10% chance)

    (The Posse summoned at the 3.5s, 4s, 5s, 5.5s, and 6s marks use ranged weapons rather than melee weapons, though their AI is set to have them prefer melee range)

    A team of 8 Mind/Emp Controllers would blaze through an encounter with Ghost Widow. STF Recluse would be more difficult, but it'd be doable.

    Your Ill/Emp Controller may not be a powerhouse solo, but a team of Empaths is absolutely ridiculous. A team of Empaths buffing each other results in each character on the team becoming a composite of the defensive abilities of both Super Reflexes and Regeneration, the offensive abilities of a Blaster, and a buttload of recharge on the side. (And if you're a team of Empathy Defenders it's even better, because between Recovery Aura and Adrenaline Boost, you get to have crashless nukes.) And that's with SOs.

    Err... that's what transformation matrices are for. Nobody sane would create an entirely new model just to scale down a character.
