Quote:I'm just sayin' I wouldn't be surprised at such a thing happening once in a while (though if it were every Friday I would raise my eyebrow and submit my resume). Last internship I had, the company paid for a trip to the movies one day (theater two blocks away), there was a keg available after 6, a Zen Room for people who wanted a little bit of a quiet break, and snacks/drinks (free*) and Rock Band set up in the breakroom. (Admittedly, the company was working on the Wii port of Rock Band, so half the time people were playing it was for testing, but still.)Well, Residentx10 said I was too negative and need to understand young people have unrealistic expectations of the modern workplace. You're telling me they should expect skeeball Fridays. That seems to be a mixed message HR is sending.
* The cost of snacks was helping to unload the suburban after a grocery run. -
Quote:So it's just a cake conut? I've never heard it called devil's food donut, but I've had plenty of cake donuts of various varieties.Basically just a chocolate donut. Not a white donut like Krispy Kreme's are.
Quote:I've never tried Five Guys or Culver's (first I've heard of them), but unless the S&S in Indianapolis really sucks, it's no where near as good. In my opinion, of course. I eat there every year during GenCon.
Quote:Not even close. In-N-Out Burger is leaps and bounds better. It's fresh. Real fresh not that "Fresh 5 months ago before the freezer" some places advertise. Potatoes sliced and fried minutes before you ordered kind of fresh. And fast.
To add to the wave of suggestions, there's a pretty good burger place near my home, Square Burger. Named not for the shape of the food, but for the location (town square in McKinney, TX). Juicy burgers, onion strings, sweet potato fries... and some 30-odd beers on tap. -
Ever worked in the video game industry? The idea of animators leaving the office to discuss work over skeeball does not sound odd to me in any way.

Quote:-346.15% ToHit should bottom out even a lv54 AV. Of course, if you're simply fighting regular +4s, rather than AVs, you should only need -93.75% ToHit.In practice, enemies can gain extra resistance to -ToHit debuffs based on their level, classification, or probably just by wearing blue. Stacking powers that say they do -45% ToHit probably won't actually bottom out the accuracy of the enemies who you'll most want to bottom out.
Dark Miasma should be able to accomplish the latter fairly simply.
Against +0s, -ToHit is equivalent to +Def -
Quote:Depends on the aura. Some auras tick quite fast.I know. Rains MAYBE, but not auras people. Auras are not broken, but rains might be.
Depends on the pseudopet. Some pseudopets operate by having an autopower aura, other operate by making many, many, many separate attacks. -
Well, not completely. They just have obscene amounts of KB protection. I've forgotten whether they have mag 100 or mag 500 KB protection, but it's around thereabouts.

Nah, we just said, "Hey, let's see how well we can do without using grenades", and then ignored the grenade temp powers after clearing out the warehouse.

The login screen only changes based on your last character if you 'quit to long screen'. If you close the game ('quit to desktop', quit from the login screen, click the close window button from windowed mode, or turn off/restart your computer), the login screen will be set to your -uiskin parameter, defaulting to CoH if you have no -uiskin set.

Quote:Obviously your palate isn't refined. You eat at White Castle.Just makes me want to run to my local White Castle.
Maybe my palate isn't "refined" enough to appreciate In-N-Out. But I didn't find it all that special.
Quote:While I like the idea of In-N-Out, I have to consider the fact that the Frisco location is only about a block from Five Guys. Which is to say, it's practically across the street from a place that already has good burgers...and bacon. (Not to mention Cajun fries.)
What's a devil's food donut? (Genuinely curious) -
Quote:O_OOn the Ustream today, TheNet confirmed that the rapid fire Incarnate procs going off with every tick (and not following the 10 second rule) is WAI.
Too bad my Incarnate MM doesn't really have much in the way of rains/toggles that do damage. I think Fluffy's Chill of the Night is the only thing. -
They won't be available until at least after I21, and that's all we really know.

Barring bugs, nobody should have more than ~84 Empyrean Merits yet (2 per 20 hours since April 5, less server downtimes).

Quote:A lot of people are wrong a lot of the time, especially people starting threads in the Player Questions forum (where hopefully the OP is looking to gain information of correct themselves on things they "know") -- this is not directed at you, Sailboat. You dont play fiery aura but just assumed the OP was wrong about the end drain res? Good job.
I was wrong, I admit it. But I also didn't assume Sailboat was wrong; I checked a resource (which turned out, unfortunately, to be out of date) which contradicted Sailboat's initial premise, and asked a serious question. There are plenty of people who come to the PQ forum with "facts" told to them by a friend, or discovered by reading something wrong (or reading the wrong thing); asking a poster why they think that is entirely valid.
I'm not defending my answer, but I am defending my actions. Should a similar situation come up, I have every intention of taking similar action, as I have many times in the past. I do realize that I need to be more cautious about my resources (and I do have access to a more up-to-date resource, it's just much harder to search through, as it's fractured into many files rather than one simple website), but don't fault me for simply trying to help. -
Quote:Also, a change in your global recharge tends to reset lag bugs in your power's recharge appearance. If Hasten is on auto, it'll fire when it can. When it does fire, all your other powers will be (temporarily) back to where the server thinks they are in their recharge cycle.Hasten's great for autoing because you pretty much want its effect firing "whenever it can". But powers like Build Up are clearly intended to be "situational click" powers. Sure game lag can make using them frustrating sometimes. But setting them to auto for -any- reason is just about as tactically useful as setting a nova blast on auto.
Let's just say there are some powers I would not bother setting to auto even if I could. *shrugs*
This is one of the main reasons I've been using Frenzy and Force of Nature on my Mastermind in BAFs, simply to reset the appearance of my recharge indicators. (Though it is quite annoying that Frenzy animates regardless of whether it's recharging or not...) -

Quote:People claim to be Believers, too, but we all know that the Lake Salamanca Monster (aka 'Sally') is just a hoax. The badge that thousands of characters hold saying they beat her up seems to argue with you.
Desdemona lives in Croatoa, according to the 'Hometown Hero' morality mission. She could replace ghost War Witch... Or just hang out drinking tea, like living War Witch does. -
Quote:Ditto. I do sometimes use Seventh Sanctum to help spark ideas, though. (I rarely pull a name directly from the generator)The name usually comes before the character for me. Sometimes even before I've decided on powersets, never mind the costume.
A while ago I deleted cAPTAIN cAPSLOCK on Freedom (Battlecry: "CAPSLOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL"). I think it's still available. -
The numbers in the team list are really freakin' small now. It's pretty frustrating, I agree, but there's not much you can do about it.
What's worse is the league window. I have the same numpad binds you do, but if I try using them while showing the league list, the teammate that gets selected is practically random. It doesn't seem to have much relationship to the order the names are presented. #1 tends to correctly stay the team leader, and my own position tends to be the correct number, but everyone else is weird, unless I'm looking at the team window instead. -
Quote:I was also in a Lambda trial where we lost members such that we only had 7 by the time all was said an done, none of the remaining 7 ever mapserved, and only 1 person avoided the 10 Threads reward (and he got a VR...). It was really weird, because I didn't do anything different from what I normally do, and I had never gotten 10 Threads before.I have done Incarnate trials where I've "participated" to the maximum extent my character could and have only gotten common table rewards. I have been in other Incarnate trials where I mapserved/crashed at least half of the total time of the trial and logged back in just in time to get very rare table rewards.
It wasn't even an issue of the league doing poorly, unless practicing for Master badges counts as 'poorly' (we refused to use the grenades).
