They then went on to say they'd look into it. That was before Issue 9. Now with Issue 19 coming up, not only have they not looked into it, but it appears that they've propagated this error from those missions to the Alignment Missions. Excellent work there!
They haven't propagated anything. It happens for critters that spawn already flying, since it's pretty much the only way to make them chase you down in the air. If you just gave them the Fly power, they might hover around a bit, but mostly they'd just run up to you until you tried flying away.

The issue isn't that the devs are lazy, it's that the critters are -- they'll only fly to you if you're the one flying.
  2. I vote everyone who respecs to get inherent fitness should then pick up Leadership.
  3. One very minor difference between origins that I didn't see anyone mention: there are a handful of temporary powers you can find throughout the game which differ based on your origin.
    • Demon Box normally creates a Tar Patch. Magic characters summon a Wailer pet instead.
    • Stolen SMG does 50% extra damage when used by a Natural character.
    • High Explosive makes a bigger kaboom when laid by a Technology character.
    • Minor Mutation does 25% extra damage and stuns when used by a Mutant character.
    • Psionic Activator deals damage in addition to its normal stun when used by a Science character.

    Jus' sayin'.

All I changed was spaces to tabs, so that the file would be consistent. I have no intentions of removing comments or changing actual content.

Oh, and I believe the Vanguard Sigil is locked with the invisible badge "Vanguard_Sigil_CC", not an authbit.

Edit: I've added links to two text files: one contains the names for all the normal badges (in the case of gender-based names, you'll find syntax like {Hero.gender=male man|woman} in the file). The other contains names for things which are treated as badges, but are invisible to the player (like SnowflakeEmoteBadge in the original example).

For those who don't want to search the OP, here they are:
    List of badge names
    List of invisible badge names
  5. Does beta testing count? Then I vote for "Touch of Lady Gray: Chance to One-Shot"

When the game is forced to display the damage in scientific notation, you know you've won.

Heel is passive/follow, right? Yeah, I never use that. I occasionally use goto, and if my pets are way off chasing something I spam my defensive/follow bind until they lose the aggro (since pets won't attack for a couple seconds after being given a stance command). For the most part, though, my MM play is basically me in the thick of it with my pets serving as my rearguard and meatshield (hooray, bodyguard mode!).

Heck, I'll dive into the Snake Temple at full of lv54 Cobra bosses (+4/x8) if you don't go in first.

Also, a separate issue from slotting both types into a single pet, some MMs can get RIP sets in their primary (Gang War, Hell on Earth, and I think Soul Extraction all take RIP), as well as Tornado in Storm Summoning accepts RIP.

Also also, I believe that anything which accepts RIP sets will also accept PD sets, so that helps even more.

My Thugs MM has all 4 pet auras.
  8. Unfortunately its merit reward has been reduced, but when I was working on my Ouroboros badges, I would blast through The Strange Case of Benjamin A. Decker. For bonus points, it's an RWZ arc, so side doesn't matter.

I haven't kept up, but with times like this, it's probably still competitive for merits/minute. Of course, at this kind of time frame, grinding it for merits would certainly feel like a grind.

    Arctic Fog: +35 StealthRadius
    Super Speed: +35 StealthRadius
    +Stealth IO: +30 StealthRadius

    Boss perception: 54ft
    Turret/GM perception: 100ft
    Sniper perception: 149ft

    Defender StealthRadius cap: 200ft

Arctic Fog and Super Speed (or Fog+IO, or SS+IO) together are plenty for normal encounters. The IO you've added covers you for everything except snipers (you would need another 49ft), critters which ignore stealth (Rikti Drones and Rularuu Sentries have already been mentioned, for example), and enemy players with +perception (while SS doesn't provide stealth in PvP, your fog and IO together provide 689 StealthRadiusPlayer, greater than a player's base 500ft perception)

If you're really worried about snipers, your only option is to team with a friend who has Grant Invisibility (+55ft) or Group Invisibility (+60ft), or reroll as an Illusion Controller (Superior Invisibility alone will put you at the stealth hard cap, or you can add Group Invisibility to yourself and Controllers have access to Arctic Fog and Steamy Mist)

An empowerment station in your base can add another stealth power for 1 hour which doesn't suppress, but it's only 25ft, so it's not strong enough.

Fixed. Super Speed is the exception that proves the rule in PvE, as it stacks with other powers. But non-toggle stelth powers will always work. See Grant Invisibility and Group Invisibility for example.

    Good story arcs

And any knowledge Golden Girl has about the villainous and the loyalist arcs in the game is entirely limited to what she reads on Paragonwiki
  12. Fleeting Whisper

    Good story arcs

An Arachnos Ghost Story from Veluta Lunata (10-14, Port Oakes). Requires the Pirate badge.

Die by the Freak! from Doc Buzzsaw (25-29, Sharkhead Isle). Requires the Bling badge to unlock. As a sample: "Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?"

Automatic Villainy from Technician Naylor (35-39, Nerva Archipelago)

Miss Francine the Freakshow Teacher from Westin Phipps (40-44, Grandville). I like the writing for Phipps in general, but this is my favorite of his arcs. Warning: moustache-twirling evil.

Video Killed the Radio from Television (45-50, Grandville). All of Television's stuff is pretty good, but I like this arc especially. And if you worked for RADIOOOOO Free Opportunity! in the earlier levels, all the better

The Conference of Evil from Viridian (45-50, Grandville). Viridian takes a little bit of work to unlock as a contact, in particular the Infiltrator badge requiring 200 Paragon Protectors.

Alone in the Darque from Efficiency Expert Pither (45-50, Grandville). Pither's other missions can be a pain in the butt (everything except his arc is timed), but the arc is pretty good.

Von Grun's Redemption from Vernon von Grun (45-50, Grandville). Vernon is definitely my favorite villain contact. Now, then... Laugh with me! NYAH - HAH - HAH - HAH - HAH - HAH!

Why, yes. All of my recommendations are from redside. Why do you ask? >.>

Why do I get the feeling tat this will be "earth-shattering" in the literal sense...?
  16. All because the devs didn't want to be accused of stealing Wesley's und3rnet idea

Guardians don't lay out -def auras, they lay out +tohit auras, which means your debuff resistance is completely worthless.

For bonus points, the +tohit aura is +200% tohit, so your defense is worthless, too.

  21. No, this is not possible. The only possibility would be to have the devs update the updater to use the computer's default browser instead of jumping straight to IE.

Even in W7, where you can uninstall IE in total safety, it doesn't help. Clicking a link in the updater when IE is uninstalled means nothing happens.

  25. I believe tips check against your security level, not your combat level or the level of the opponent you're fighting. As far as I understand the system, that's WAI.
