twas a stick without a carrot...
[/ QUOTE ]Actually, it was a stick whose carrot didn't come until several Issues later (Skills, which then turned into Inventions) -
I've come to realize that all of my criminal tendencies and flamboyant fashion choices came from two sources: books and other reading material, and more importantly, video games. Video games and books. You can't forget the negative impact of the books too. If those books hadn't expanded my horizons, I would have just been a violent social misfit because of video games. One alone can do irreparable damage, but both together, well, you can see the results.
If you don't want your children to become violent criminals bent on world conquest, then you need to act immediately. Don't let them play video games. Keep them away from books. And you'd probably better keep them inside, too. I'd suggest that you replace those other activities with something better. Something that can heal them. I'd suggest Television. I often wish I'd watched more TV as a youth. Who knows what I could have been? -

In game it still has a base accuracy value of 1.00, which is a bit on the low side if it's not an auto-hit power.
[/ QUOTE ]Even autohit attacks have an accuracy value. And 1.0 accuracy is standard; essentially 1.0 * (YourTohit - TargetDefense), though that's extremely simplified. To be on the low side, it would have to be something like 0.9. -

so get the storm secondary and slot em in tornado...
[/ QUOTE ]Or play Thugs and put them in Gang War. It's not like you have to sacrifice other slotting to make room for them there. -

Suggested by Players - Implemented by Devs - List
There was also a newer list by AmazingMOO called Things you've asked for and GOTTEN, but the thread wasnt marked to save & was deleted in one of the recent forum purges.
[/ QUOTE ]Thanks for linking that. I've taken the liberty of wikifying it -

Bill Roper, co-founder and CEO of Flagship Studios, is currently working on Champions Online as a Cryptic employee.
[/ QUOTE ]
Did not know that!
Bwaaaah.
[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, there was at least one thread around here about us being dumbfounded that Roper got hired anywhere, much less our major competition
Admittedly, Bill was part of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo, but everyone remembers your last project and your biggest failure the most. For Bill, both of those are Hellgate -
I like the idea. Though for anyone who wants it as a way to remember the server you're currently on, rather than to automatically communicate it to others, there's the /whereami command, which will tell you the shard you're currently on

Defenders would get a global boost to to all powers that increase regen, recovery, def, and resistance.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah! Screw TA! And Storm!I know, you didn't mean it like that. But it's part of the problem Bill was talking about.
[/ QUOTE ]Don't debuffs get buffed by buff buffs?
[/ QUOTE ]There's no way to buff resistance or -resistance. You can only enhance it. (Specifically, because all of the resistance powers are flagged to be unbuffable) -
Yes, the devs do read this forum. We've had several (probably BAB the most) read and respond to threads here.
Somewhere there's a list of all the things implemented in the game that began as player suggestions. I'm not certain where it is, though.
In any case, the most efficient way to get your idea to a dev is to send them a private message. -

After Hellgate London fiasco... I will NEVER pay for a lifetime sub again...
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay, someone point me towards where I can find out about this place. I keep hearing about Hellgate, but I don't know the story. Enlighten me on this bit of MMO history.
[/ QUOTE ]Major failure of an RPG with MMO-like multiplayer. Failed so hard that the developer company (Flagship Studios, origin of the term "Flagshipped") went bankrupt.
Bill Roper, co-founder and CEO of Flagship Studios, is currently working on Champions Online as a Cryptic employee. -
I order to prosecute them, the Chinese (or Korean, or wherever they're based) government needs to cooperate. To date, they never have.
The companies owning the RMT also deny that the RMT is even taking place, so there would have to be an investigation to prove the allegations.
Blizzard did successfully sue a US-based RMT company, so that's at least some precedent when something gets into court, if ever. -

Cherokee, the player who originally set up the wiki, TonyV, moved it to wikia when he couldn't give it the attention it needed. However wikia eventually became inundated with RMT ads as well as edits by those same RMT groups to encourage use of their services and so it was moved to the Titan Network, cleaned up and eventually they were able to reclaim the ParagonWiki URL, the original URL for the site, from wikia.
The wikia version of the wiki is a den of scum on villainy and not in a good wholesome CoV way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah ok, didnt know. Thanks.
And Aggelakis, I dont use them. I just googled ED and clicked on it for him. thats it. Crazy stuff huh?
[/ QUOTE ]Forgive me for being dubious that a search for "ED" turned up with the City of Heroes wikia -
Origin also affects a few temporary powers throughout the game. For example, the Demon Box summons a Wailer pet if you're magic, or casts Tar Patch if you're not. (Each origin has a temp. power that gives them a special effect not available to the other origins)

Grandville was broken into four islands now known as Cap Au Diable, Port Oakes, Bloody Bay, and Grandville.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know what's sillier than an island being broken into four islands by a volcanic explosion?
1. Two of those 'islands' are in fact *not* two separate islands, but are together still as one island.
2. Two completely different islands somehow leapt into the open waters in between the now fragmented islands.
See here.
[/ QUOTE ]
Someone was putting together a history of the Etiole Islands and stated it something like this: "A giant volcano explodes and splits Grandville into four islands. So powerful was the explosion that it hurled Bloody Bay OVER Sharkhead Island. Wait... How does that work?"
[/ QUOTE ]A CoT Mage did it. -

Terra? Well, she doesn't have any particularly special attacks beyond those of any other Greater Devoured, so if your Scrapper happens to have a surplus of Smashing Resistance on top of some defense, you should be able to do quite well.

/SR, so my only resistance is what I get from Tough.

I agree with Mateo. The critter difficulties were added because some people specifically want a more challenging game, not because of anything to do with risk:reward.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, the difficulty settings were specifically added to allow authors to weaken critters, not strengthen them. Originally, critters had no difficulty settings at all, and were allowed to use *all* of the powers from both primary and secondary, with only small limits due to rank.
[/ QUOTE ]I meant compared to the non-MA game, not compared to early i14 beta. -

One in the hand is worth 2 in the bush...
[/ QUOTE ]That sounds wrong. I have one in my hand at night frequently, but would much rather have two in the bush.
Wait... what is it we're talking about having in our hands...?
[/ QUOTE ] That depends... do you have 2 in the bush of the same thing in your hand? And is the bush trimmed or not?
[/ QUOTE ]I don't see why the bush's state of being trimmed matters for a compost pile...
[/ QUOTE ] If it's trimmed, it looks better, and it's easier to manage. lol
[/ QUOTE ]I think you just had your mind in the gutter. You dirty, dirty person, you.
[/ QUOTE ] Now THAT sounds like an insult! lol
[/ QUOTE ]No, that's a compliment -

Parity is important for features and for fixing bugs, but they're not about to intentionally introduce bugs for "parity's sake".

Is the flier in the STF the same one that Patrols Grandville?
[/ QUOTE ]No. The Flier in the STF has AV/Monster stats, rather than GM stats. But it's erroneously rewarding from the GM rewards table.
