That was my thinking too... I'm a gravity controller with a Wormhole that recharges before its stun wears off, I would much rather just use Wormhole more than stick a bad proc into Transfusion.

It's not like I had anything else to do with that slot.

IIRC the values for base tohit are 75% for +0, 65% for +1, 56% for +2, 48% for +3 and 39% for +4.
Ah thank you, I had no idea I could do that - very helpful! Yeah, best leave the accuracy in.

Also, I noticed I could better make use of that slot that currently contains a Steadfast PRotection if I move the Steadfast to Increase Density... don't know what to do with it though. Which proc is better, an Explosive Strike in Wormhole for 71 smashing damage on one in five of the guys it hits, or an Energy Manipulator in Transfusion for an eight-second mag-2 stun one out of ten times I fire it?
  3. I love Proccing Field on my Grav/Kin; it's his primary means of inflicting AOE damage and Gravitational Anchor is nice to have for its help in mitigating the relatively weak AOE control of the Gravity set. Presently, Crushing Field is slotted with every crafted proc it can take, plus one slot with an Acc/Dam Posi Blast. Running Tactics and considering other set bonuses this gives Crushing Field an accuracy of 124% which seems fine to me.

I am thinking about adding a Controller ATO proc, but don't know whether I should replace the Acc/Dam or one of the two Lethal procs it already has. Replacing the Acc/Dam brings the accuracy down to 104%, with Tactics running. I'm not that good with accuracy numbers so I'm asking here: How much of a decrease to his ability to hit things would this represent? This is running at +0 or +1 solo, and often up to +3 on a team though on teams I have other concerns than my controller's AOE damage.

Synapse needs to update the OP. It's only slotted recharge + Alpha recharge that affects proc rate now. Global bonuses are not considered in the proc rate.
Oh. Well, that solves that then. Carry on.
  5. My main is a Grav/Kin controller swimming in global recharge, for the following two reasons: one, Gravity has weak AOE control and getting Wormhole and Gravity Distortion Field back up ASAP is pretty essential to his performance; two, he goes through endurance fast and relies on Transference to finish fights. He frequently approaches 200% recharge even solo, and easily passes it on teams where someone else is also buffing. His go-to power for damage is Crushing Field, which is five-slotted with procs. Going back to my previous note on Gravity's weak AOE control, one of the procs is a crafted Gravitational Anchor hold proc that helps cover that hole - sure, it's not his primary form of preventing attacks coming in, but even with softcapped smashing and lethal defense he's still a squishy controller and can't afford a drop in his ability to stop enemies from attacking him. I'm going to have to rethink his entire playstyle if this goes through.

Worse, my Ill/Rad with perma-PA regularly runs around with 230% recharge. She has the Contagious Confusion proc in Deceive... which already ends up recharging well before I intend to use it again, considering the other powers she's always firing off. Just how worthless is that purple set I spent hundreds of millions of inf on going to become for me?
  6. For me, it's a toss-up between my Fortunata, and the two versions of my time manipulator (one of whom predates Time Manip so he's a grav/kin controller). None of them are going to take down any AVs without help or clear any farm maps in record time, so not precisely uber, per se... just respectable.

Fortunata is built for melee and AOE attacks, and has softcapped positionals with her down-to-permanent Mind Link. She solos most things at +2/x8 at respectable speed, and Longbow or Rularuu at +1/x8 if I'm quick on my feet. What I like about her is that mechanically, playing her feels exactly like my original concept for how she would operate in a fight: I always imagined her moving like a Geth Stalker from Mass Effect, jumping all over to evade attacks and position herself most effectively, and (apart from the inability to stick to walls) it is exactly like that and that is awesome.

Time manipulator version one, the Grav/Kin, I like for two reasons: One, my two favorite attacks in the game (Wormhole and Propel), and two, Transference means I can completely ignore recovery bonuses in his slotting while Siphon Speed means recharge bonuses can safely take a back seat to smashing and lethal defense. Effectiveness-wise, he's not really great at any particular thing (solos on +0/x6) but Kinetics actually represents his concept better than Time Manip does in the way its buffs occur as a result of debuffs landing: the concept is that he steals time from enemies.

Time manipulator version two: Time/Sonic defender with Power Mastery. Crap damage means missions are slow, but he never, ever dies, to the point where I wish his build had room for the Presence pool so I could give him a taunt and actually tank for a team on him. He can withstand a spawn of Council at +4/x8 with bosses turned on and eventually even take them down, if not quickly.

Note: That's a serious question. Aurora Borealis, Vanessa DeVore, Sister Psyche, Penny Yin, Katie Douglas, Fortunatas and Seers greatly outnumber... Malaise, Psimon Omega and a handful of the Awakened (Is that it? I can't think of any other male psi-users). But is that just a writer tendency, or is Psychic ability somehow tied to gender?
Bane spiders all have some psychic ability. They're still outnumbered by Fortunatas and Widows, though, as far as ability goes, and it's played up as being pretty minor until the mind-link enhances it. Anyway this isn't apparent unless you read the lore because they don't have any psychic attacks... it is part of the concept though.
  11. I'd like my Dark Controller's Umbra Beast a lot more if, instead of a solid-looking animal, it were made of nothing but particles like the Dark Servant, only still keeping the four-legged skeleton. Add on a set of disembodied fangs and you have the general effect of something like this, which would be SO MUCH COOLER. Hellhound made of animate shadow? I would pay for that in a heartbeat.

Fire imps made of particles with no physical body underneath would also be freakin sweet.
  12. I had a look at that and went over what I should have. The 16 tokens spent up until this month is in fact the correct number.

Still waiting on the 17th token. I emailed support and they said they gave it to me on the 18th... I can conclusively say they didn't based on a Trillian chat log from the 6th.
  13. Recalling my history of purchases that suggest they may not add time:

Retail,Aug 17, 2010: Going Rogue purchase; first month as a full account rather than trial
Retail, Aug 18, 2010; Retail, Aug 18, 2010; Retail, Aug 23, 2010: Architect Edition, Good Vs. Evil Edition, Mac Special Edition, in no particular order
Collector, Jan 31, 2011: CoV box with unused serial code obtained from Amazon
DVD, May 24, 2011: CoH DVD edition with unused serial code obtained from Amazon

This is in keeping with the six tokens I don't have, though I'm surprised to find the first month of Going Rogue didn't count seeing as it was the first month my account was active.
  14. Okay, so I discovered this while trying to work out whether I had the correct number of reward tokens, because I thought I didn't have the one for my last month of VIP time and wanted to be sure (I don't, but that's another issue that I've already contacted support over). I noticed something very strange on my Account Details page: It lists my total paid time as two years, ending on February 17th, 2013, which I know to be wrong - by those numbers, I paid for my first month on January 17th, 2011 (partway through issue 19) when I have in fact been paying continuously since Going Rogue was released (August 17th, 2011).

The even stranger part is that my listed serial code history does list its first entry after the creation of the trial account as "Retail" dated August 17th, 2010, which is much more in keeping with my memory of an immediate Going Rogue purchase. In fact, by these dates I should have twenty months of paid time instead of the fourteen months indicated in the top half of the page, and for which I have collected reward tokens. I was under the impression that accounts that existed prior to Freedom would receive reward tokens for paid months retroactively, which suggests I should have six more tokens than I do - am I mistaken in this belief?

Long story short: Why don't these numbers match each other?

Don't we already have that filtering option, in the form of turning down the maximum number of particles?

  17. Dude, I'm from dA. I know how to get views. And of course it isn't false advertizing, do YOU see any clothes on her?
  18. So doppelgangers... I haven't had good luck with them so far. My controller wears all black so his is practically identical except for the aura being a different color. My other controller becomes blonde. My fortunata, because her clothing pattern fakes her blue skintone (Stripe 3 is not available as a with-skin option), gets naked. My boyfriend's dominator loses all color coordination and is hideous.

But my scrapper? Holy crap, she actually looks like an evil version of the real character!

Good on the left, evil on the right.

Idunno, I just thought Evil Princess Helkath looked too badass not to share.

  23. Because I am no good at coming up with content. At all. It's terrible.

I've run a few of the developer's choice ones but that's it.
  24. I don't enjoy PVP in any game other than MarioKart, actually, and even that gets tiring fast because I lose all the time.
  25. Menders, duh. If not them, then the Legacy Chain.
