All my favorite characters are Gravity.

I'm not sure which aspect of the (non-Praetorian) Merit Vendors is worse: their awful color scheme or the fact that one chick has a belt that's unavailable to players for no apparent reason, and it taunts me.
-
So speaking of the Time Manipulation power set, is anyone else pissed that the screenshot shows it being light teal, implying (since it's the only screenshot) that light teal is the default color, despite every single temporally-themed character I have encountered in-game and on the forums has colored their power sets O-portal gold?

I don't have my Lore slot yet so I didn't know about this... yes please, let me rename my Widow's Lore pet when she gets them; adding "Reflection" to their names makes them seem far more fitting for her to have even though real Shadow Shard reflections don't follow that naming pattern.

I checked there too, it's not in Inherent either.

OK, so I just took my rogue to hero a few days ago, and my Countdown to Justice timer has very definitely disappeared. The Call to Justice power, however, doesn't seem to have appeared in its place, and I can't find it in my Powers tab with the other temporary powers I've collected. Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone know what's going on?

My characters Mender Epoch, Mender Lathrop, and Mender Zeal are perhaps even more thinly veiled expies than the NPC Menders - they don't usually wear anything other than their Mender outfits, but just for the the hell of it...
...C'mon, man - time travel! How could I not do it when the devs did it too? If I were a Doctor Who fan I'd probably have a Mender Whatsisface too. -
Quote:Man, that sounds like a way of pussyfooting around not letting us get any more than what we have, though. Yeah, I can keep the two pages of characters I have on Virtue, but will I be able to get a third later on if I want more?

Thanks Muon, Neo, and teflon, that's great advice. Twitchy and nonpassive is fine; I have a lot of support-type characters that have me whaling on the keyboard like I'm playing a Mozart sonata, including two Thermal MMs, so I'm used to it.
I'm absolutely okay with getting just a few IOs like those endurance procs, but relying solely on set bonuses for survival is not my cup of tea. I'll see what happens when I respec following the advice given here and post a build afterwards. -
So in which universe is Calvin Scott evil, and in which universe are the Clockwork King and Tub Ci legit heroes?

Well, it's not a whole new AT, but what with power coloring and good costume design, when I'm on my Stone/Energy tank Atomsmash I sometimes forget that Radiation Tanks don't actually exist.
-
I don't have anything in Mids, since I haven't a clue what I should even try to do with these sets, and I don't remember what order I took anything in.

This'll help.
My claws/dark is soloing +2/x8 with no problems. Then I got incarnate powers. It's doable. -
I hear you can make it viable if you're actually good at this game, but filthy concept roleplayer that I am I lack the necessary aptitude to do anything but follow guides. Concept dictates that I be a melee character with claws, Super Jump for my travel power, and some source of Fear, and of course there are no guides for Claws brutes at all and the only guides for Dark Armor are either for pairing it with Dark Melee or explaining why you ought to have picked a different secondary. I'm beginning to see their point, as at level 25 I die on this brute more often than I die on my blasters. Obviously I haven't a damn clue what I'm doing.
Tl;dr - Can I do anything at all to make this character even slightly playable, or should I bite the bullet and reroll with a different secondary, switching alignments to Vigilante for the fear power in that? -
Rush to release, I'm guessing. But seriously... there's no excuse for this; I could make a tights texture that matched the concept art in ten minutes, tops - probably more like five. She's an NPC, so the fact that there's three colors on her tights is a nonissue.
-
Yes, but she did have unique concept art that Noble Savage painted of her... the costume she has in game is like if a player tried to make a crappy imitation of what the concept art was. It's the same idea, but with nice stripes on the tights around where the boot and glove parts meet the top and bottom, which would have been unique to Bobcat. However, she still would have been a total catgirl in the same lobotomized sense.

Quote:If we're talking about changing NPCs' costumes, I'm going to call attention to Black Swan as well - like Bobcat, I think she was actually downgraded when GR came along, given how her appearance is now practically identical to a vast quantity of female player villains (including one of mine, only Black Swan is even more boring with her grand total of one color). I mean, seriously, it's like both she AND Bobcat were hit with the Generic Stick. She has gone from "exactly like her unique Primal counterpart, only a different color" to "100% possible to duplicate using player costume parts, and therefore surely identical to a few players," and IMO the latter is much, much worse. Why not do this in reverse, too? Frostfire's looking pretty bad despite showing up all the time these days. He could use an upgrade.
Something like this! Presenting: less-fugly Frostfire! -snip-
Much better than normal Frostfire.
Edit: Fine, here's old Frostfire under the same graphics settings as "new" Frostfire. The only improvement that makes is that his particle effects hide some of his hideousness.
I propose nixing the veteran wings in favor of her old feathered mantle and head detail, and giving back the slight blue tint she had before, which is as easy as slapping a Blend pattern on her gloves, boots, and skirt. Then she could look like a proper unique archvillain again.
A Photoshopped visual of this proposed happy medium:

Why oh why does my list of characters on any given server keep rearranging itself? I'd like to be able to choose the order in which my characters appear in that list, but moving them around is pointless if they just move to random new places the next time I log in. Is there any rhyme or reason to this at all?

Quote:I have a KM character. I tried several color types on her, both light and dark, before I settled on pale blue. While it should be up to the OP, I don't have his definition of "witch magic" to go on - only my own. And whether you color it light or dark, KM is always very flashy and dramatic. While a few cana may have witches that cast flashy, dramatic spells - Bayonetta, I believe, is an example - that's not the standard for what witches are, and if I thought "Bayonetta" immediately upon hearing "witch" I wouldn't have advised against guns either.Yes but I'd noticed it hadn't been mentioned, and whilst I can agree with your points...
I believe it should be up to the op to decide for themselves.
Remember too that the video is of the default 'original' color, try it sometime using different colors it makes a big difference. -
I disagree. OP asked specifically for "witch magic," and Kinetic Melee, while very magical, doesn't seem very witchy to me. Now, for a wizard, magical construct, or battlemage it'd be fantastic, but when I hear "witch magic" I think less flashy than that. To reference tabletop gaming, if you're thinking "I wanna cast Magic Missile!" that's more a sorcerer or wizard style while a witch spell would at least be more subtle or at least more clearly connected to a classical element. Hexes, curses, control, nature, divination, and wards are all very witchy, but blasts not so much unless you can tie them to one of those themes.
