Hopefully they're fixing the really massive lag, errors, buff issues, team window issues, rubberbanding, artifacts etc that have been plaguing a lot of us the past week or so.
Of course, they say they discovered it during maintenance, so I'm confused. How do you discover something like that during maintenance, then let the servers go live, THEN remember you really should fix it? -
The sellers aren't the problem.
The lazy buggers buying it are the problem.
Giving them more ways to be lazy is just going to inflate the problem. -
Quote:Ugh, this too, yeah. Lots of fun watching my character just stand there while things happen around her...My power icons do not update properly in heavy combat. This is not "button lag". I have never experienced this before, not quite like this. I am also prone to not animate my attacks. They just appear from my body. Sometimes my powers seem to activate out of order after a delay.

Quote:Ugh, I've actually come here to post about this bug. This is driving my CRAZY. I've spent the last 4 days on support ATs. All of them running leadership, one is a Thermal, one a FF, one a Rad with AM. Buffs are completely random whether they show or not. It seems to have little/nothing to do with proximity. I can FF my whole team and have NONE of them show those buffs. Or like one of the leadership toggle buffs will show on my team, but not the others. Sometimes, self-buffs show, sometimes they don't. Even sometimes on my own healthbar, I'm losing buff icons.http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/4...nbufftrays.png
This is just a screenshot I quickly took to show how the buff trays are not working properly. As you can see, I am not near a cold dom but I have a stack of Arctic Fog in my buff tray. Also my teammates have stacked up buffs that they do not have: on of the blasters has 5 stacks of tactics when not near anyone.
Not to mention, there seems to be something going on where if you re-buff while the buffs are flashing (you know, the "I'm about to expire, quick re-apply me so there's no gap!" flashing?) then the buff CONTINUES TO FLASH until one zones. No matter what. I was having people today with multiple AMs showing, all flashing, with only one actual AM applying (I don't have my recharge high enough so there's no gap yet.)
Added to that, lag has been awful. People and foes seeming to teleport around the screen, foes failing to fall down and vanish when they die, really bad rubberbanding.
What the heck is going on? -
Quote:Yes, because the past example of the wedding pack, magic pack, steampunk pack, and the report of the gunslinger preview don't support the assumption that the girls will get a flirty/pretty/sexy girly outfit, and the males will get the bad-@ss one. What I think is funny is that people are interpreting one out of focus screenshot from a teaser slide show as representing the ENTIRE range of options available for a costume set.
I'd wait for the official preview before spending all my energy writing long rants about it.
There isn't enough eyeroll for this post. -
I'd certainly support this... I've got multiple versions of a good many of my characters and it sure would be convenient to be able to swap more on the fly like this. I'm pretty sure the tech will never be implemented though.

Quote:That's a ridiculously disingenuous arguement, because you know darn well that 90% of the game population will never build characters capable of that. It's a very small cross-section that is, that relies on AT selection, IOs and yes, incarnate powers. But you do need 8 to start. You don't need 8 to finish an Apex, or Tin mage (those have neen duo'ed) and give threads/shards/astrals. Heck, you don't even need 8 to finish Lambdas, as those have also been duo'ed.
So what exactly is your point about a non small group friendly option for incarnates? As thats already been set up? -
Quote:Sam, STOP MAKING ME WANT TO ROLL ANOTHER MM! It always ends in tears!!This doesn't seem to stop people from Group-Flying their henchmen and still have them do just fine. I had a friend of mine who spent most of his time running Group Fly on his Mercenaries and used slotting and Leadership to compensate for the to-hit debuff, and his mercs did just fine.

Quote:Can you quote someone saying that? Because that hasn't been the complaint. We want the girl costume NOT to be skimpy-corset-skirt-highheels every time a set comes out and/or we'd like to have access to the "male" costume. No one's saying they want realistic pieces.I have to chuckle at all the demands for realistic barbarian costumes in a game that is based on a genre of entertainment which is not known for realistic outfits on any of the characters in it.
Quote:And defining "realistic" barbarian outfits as "you know, a chainmail bikini like Red Sonja wears" is even funnier.
A "realistic" barbarian outfit, for either gender, would consist of poorly tanned hides and a few scraps of cloth attached with rawhide stitching. And footwear? It would be A) Nothing, B) some really badly chafing sandal-type things, or C) some scraps of cloth tied around your feet (mostly worn in winter time) MAYBE you'd see some fur boots, but they'd look like crap.
The simple fact is: Barbarians were not known for their tailoring skills.
I agree that a fur loincloth should be available for both genders, though.
Your last sentence has basically been the thrust of my complaint.
Quote:More or less. To be perfectly honest, I'd be content with simply seeing the pieces men get on women. That, and I'm more than a bit disappointed that all female clothes these days have to come with high-heel boots. Some sets these are appropriate for, but Barbarian just ain't it. If anything, the Barbarian set was the right time to add large, thick fur boots for both men and women, and I do mean FUR boots, not fur TRIMMED boots. This was the right set to add actual fur tops and animal skin shoulders, and even maybe a new animal hide cape.
*edit*
And, honestly, the realism of the term "barbarian" is irrelevant. This is just a term used by several arrogant nations to refer to anyone else in the world. I just expected a Barbarian set to have a more rugged look, and the costume pieces we've seen only have that for men. -

I've got one for an alternate Night Widow build for my Fortunata, but since I already have a Claws/Regen, she pretty much stays in her Fortunata build.
Three of my characters have their second builds just up to level 6 so they can have hover, for basebuilding.
The rest don't need it. -
Quote:They didn't even want to make those, if you recall. Jay was very against making any "furry" costume pieces. :-/I'm sure it'll be part of the Kilts category, and thus completely unusable with the Monstrous legs, just like SO MANY pieces that would go perfectly with them, cause **** people who like Monstrous legs.
Quote:My Firestorm homage character is going to have a Killer Frost homage costume and I am fairly excited for this set.
Quote:And what is barbarian? Do you think that barbarian men historically actually went around dressed like Conan? Has anyone stopped to think about what exactly women's roles were in a barbarian society?
Just like I did with the magic pack, the steampunk pack, etc. -
Quote:Pfft. What were you expecting, pants? Sheesh. Next thing you'll say women should be allowed to *vote* and *hold jobs.* Insanity! Bustiers and skirts, or bikinis and odd pieces that defy gravity (or require double sided tape to stay on.) That's what you'll get, and you'll LIKE it, missy!

Quote:Well then push back Beam Rifle, I want Street JusticeSomething occurred to me- they MAY be spacing them out so that the VIP vets can get them all with Paragon points as sort of a .. TY for being VIP? I know there was a bit of a backlash at VIPs still having to buy Powersets- I was one of the ones unhappy. If SJ release a month or 2 after launch, and I can get it "free" with my PPs, I'm happy waiting.
-
Quote:Isn't this on Test and working now? Do we have any idea why it's being pushed back? It was the ONLY set I wanted to buy4th Quarter for Street Justice kinda sucks. Was the only one of the three new ones on beta I really liked. Hope it's an October 1st rather than a December 31st fourth quarter release. Had a character and costume all ready to go. Wonder why they're waiting that long, the powerset seemed fully ready to go. Probably some marketing mumbo jumbo to maximize sales. *sigh* Guess I can kill time giving the other 2 powersets a longer try.
What a shock. I'm SHOCKED, I say! -
Quote:They're boots. They're designed exactly like the Witch boots but with fur instead of bats.
And all I can do is /em facepalm over them. Seriously art team, what the hell?
Once more, the female characters get totally non-concept-appropriate skimpy/girly costume pieces. I'm guessing that girls don't get access to the loincloth piece? Instead, we get another corset, another skirt, and another set of thigh highs - as a BARBARIAN set?
Seriously, I'm annoyed. -
When there's an AOE specialist, you get Knives and Praet Clockworks and other enemies who refuse to clump up.

Quote:Oh man, try a Mind/Storm Troller. Mine is SO MUCH FUN!Fave AT is Controller.
Fave powerset is Storm Summoning.
Fave character builds:
Illusion/Storm controller.
Earth/Storm controller.
Fire/Storm controller.
SS/SR brute.
SS/EA brute.
Plant/Storm controller.
Fire/Energy dominator.
Earth/Fire dominator.
Storm/Energy defender.
Gravity/Fire dominator.
Probably in that order.

Quote:It's true - and I was one of them! I'd just switched to a new 50 to start running trials on, having outfitted my last 2 as much as I wanted (I only go to T3, T4 seems like too much of a bother with the amount of 50s I have to work on) so it was just really overall... yeah, a mini wasn't great with the majority of the teams not really boosted.I know it's just anecdotal, but I see a wide desparity in 50's levels for iTrials. Even with the many, many I've run, I only =just= got my (counting) third level shift on my main grinder. The other three iTrial 50s I use don't even have their Alphas slotted yet.
People that run iTrials continuously don't always comprehend that there are newer/returning players just trying out Incarnate content. I still see the BAF cutscene regularly. And yes, they may be new Incarnate characters by experienced players, but that still means characters without level shifts. That can really change the iTrial dynamic.

Quote:Yup, that one happened to me, too. I'd been running iTrials for about a week, without hitches, mostly mini-BAFs that rolled to Lam that rolled to mini-BAFs. Good, lucrative, fun - at least, to me.As for points two and three, that's just how it goes sometimes. It's not like everyone is born knowing how to lead these things, and if you've been on enough of these teams, some of the things you take for granted that are "obvious" really aren't. Over the past few weeks, I've watched as Belle has lead some of these trials on Infinity. She gets flustered because it's not like she sits there playing with a spreadsheet mapping all of this out. Last time I sat in on one of her trial sessions, unbeknownst to her until well into the trial, she had plain 50s on her team, hardly had any teammates that were +1, +2, or +3. They got wiped over and over, and she kept blaming herself for doing something wrong that she just couldn't figure out.
Then I hit a mini-BAF that literally I could NOT figure out what the hell was going on. People were dying left and right. We almost failed on the PRISONER stage because of so many escapes. The tanks died like 4 times trying to pull the AVs. I was totally boggled and started to feel like, somehow, somewhere, I was failing these folks and didn't know why. People started crying that we needed 3 full groups, when you clearly don't.
Well, in this case, maybe we did. On review, almost all my members were plain 50s without any level shifts, without Lore pets, without Destiny opened up. Well, not a very good composition for a mini-BAF, but since I never ask levels, and half the time can't even see my team (RWZ can get to be such a circus!) I didn't even think to check it.
Never happened before, hasn't happened since, but holy crap did I feel bad about that. I mean, at this stage in the game, to fail a BAF? I felt like total fail. Would have been even BETTER if I'd come to the forums to see someone complaining about what a dreadful leader I was. -
I adore Defenders, always have, and CoV was never my cup of tea. But now that we have the ability to move characters over to Blueside despite being Redside ATs, I've sort of fallen in love with Corruptors - they're basically Defenders turned up to 11.
Love Controllers.
Love Scrappers.
I don't really play much else, but I've got a stableful of those three, plus a handful of others that are mostly curiosities. -
-
God, I forgot Khelds and MMs. Add those to the ATs that I hate with a fiery passion.
-
I loathe Blasters, Stalkers and Tankers.
I will play all their powersets on other ATs, but I will not play those ATs. I've just never ever liked them. It's possible they've been buffed/altered enough that my early experiences are now no longer indicative, but I just won't do it.
Blasters and Stalkers die too fast, Tankers don't kill fast enough without support. Just do not like. -
